Partners in Crime

Alex's POV

I was studying this bit of evidence when Jack came in bringing coffee with him and sat next to me.
"What you looking at?" He asked.
"Studying." I said and picked a coffee up and drunk it and frowned a little.
"Studying what?" He asked.
I just put my hand over his mouth and looked at him.
"Shush." I said and went back to looking at the computer screen.
Jack just licked my hand which made me pull a face and removed my hand from his mouth and rubbed my hand in my jeans but didn't take my eye off the computer.
"We need to go back to the crime scene." I said and grabbed my jacket leaving Jack confused but he followed anyway.

We got to the crime scene and showed our ID and went inside.
"Alex I'm really confused now." Jack said.
I turned round and looked at him.
"The blood splatter." I simply said and walked to the room where I wanted to be in.
Jack followed.
"What about it?" He asked.
"Look around Jack, what doesn't make sense?" I asked and looked at him.
Jack frowned again and looked around, damn he's so cute when he frowns.
"The blood." He said and pointed to the blood by the cooker.
I nodded.
"What about it doesn't make sense?" I asked.
"I dunno." Jack said.
I rolled my eyes at him.
"Victim number 3 was found in the hallway. Along with vic number 4. Victim number 1 was found in the kitchen and last but not least vic number 2 in the sitting room. If you look you'll find there is two pools of blood." I said.
"Okay, so what your saying is that either number 3 or 4 was moved?" He asked.
"Bingo. All we need to do is work it all out on who was moved." I said and looked around.
"I see no drag marks." Jack said.
"So we know it was one of the smaller children. One which couldn't put up much of a fight." I said thinking.
"They where all at the ages where they could fight back the youngest was 7 years old." Jack said.
It was my turn to frown a little.

The phone went off which made me and Jack shit ourselves because we was both miles away thinking.
'Emily, answer the fucking phone so we can arrange for me to see the kids! You can't keep them away from me! I have rights!' With that the phone call ended.
I looked at Jack who looked at me.
"Okay, so the family has daddy issues." Jack said.
"Looks like it. Did you find anything in the woman's room?" I asked.
"If your asking if she had any action the answer is yes, to answer your unspoken question the dude never had a chance to pick his pants up." He said looking smug.
"It could of been a female dude." I said and Jack chuckled.
"Wearing men's underwear? Somehow even a female dude doesn't wear men's pants." He said.
"Good point." I said.
"Get the phone. We'll trace the call and question him when evidence is complete." I said and walked out the room.

I was listening to Blink loudly in the lab and just miles away to notice everyone walking past and looking at me.
"Gaskarth turn your shitty music down! We don't want to be hearing it!" Bishop said loudly over the music as he turned it down.
"Hey! That's their new album! Don't be dissing Blink dude, so turn it back up!" I said and spun round and looked at him.
Bishop just rolled his eyes at me.
"Where's Jack?" He asked.
"Pizza and coffee run. Pulling a all nighter." I said.
"Alex go home and rest. You look like shit mate." Bishop said and walked into the lab and sat beside me.
"Well this case in interesting." I said.
Bishop just sighed.
"So you and Barakat are together?" He asked and I looked at him.
"Caught you two kissing the other day." He chuckled.
I just rolled my eyes.
"Glad you have finally found someone!" Bishop chuckled and hit my arm playfully.
Jack came in and dumped the stuff and sat on my lap and cuddled into my chest.
"Your like a drowned rat." I chuckled and kissed the top of his head.
"Raining by any chance?" Bishop chuckled.
Jack nodded.
"AW poor Jacky." I said and wrapped my hoodie round us both.
"Can we go home?" Jack asked and looked at me.
"Yeah we can." I said quietly and Jack got off me and I took my hoodie off and handed it too Jack and he took it and wrapped it round himself.
"Does this mean I can have the coffee and pizza?" Bishop asked.
"No so fuck off." I chuckled and got the pizza and coffee and me and Jack went home.

When we got back Jack went straight ton the sofa and flopped on it while I went to run him a bath.
I walked out to the sitting room and Jack was slowly falling asleep.
"Hey, I'm running you a bath so don't fall asleep just yet." I said and sat next to him.
He sat up and rested his head on my shoulder.
"I'm cold." Jack said quietly.
"Well your bath is nearly ready and that so after that we go to bed and watch a film and got to sleep." I said and Jack nodded.
I stood up and picked him up and went to the bathroom.

We was sat in the bath and Jack was messing with my hand.
"Bishop knows about us." I said quietly and Jack stopped messing with my hand.
"Its fine because he won't tell anyone." I said and kissed his cheek.
"How can you be sure?" Jack asked quietly and rested his head on my chest.
"Because I told him about stuff which was really personal to me and he hasn't told a soul. He also owes his life to me as well." I said.
Jack just nodded and yawned loudly and rubbed his eyes.
"Up and out and into bed." I said and Jack nodded and got out the bath and wondered to our room naked.
I smirked to myself and got out the bath and went to our room.
Jack was fast asleep without the covers on.
I chuckled quietly and walked to his side of the bed and put his legs into the bed and pulled the covers over him and kissed his forehead and walked round to my side and quietly got into bed and put a film on for me to fall asleep to.
Jack rolled over and cuddled into my side and pretty much pinned me to the bed and using my head as a pillow.
I smiled and messed with his hair until I fell asleep.
