Partners in Crime

Alex's POV

I was still in bed when Jack walked in the room with by the smell of things it was tea.
"Hey there sleepy head." He said and sat on the edge of the bed.
I smiled.
"Hey." I said quietly my voice thick with sleep still.
"I made you a tea. Thought it might cheer you up a little." He said.
I sighed and looked at the time and saw it was 3 in the afternoon.
"Shouldn't you be at work?" I asked as I sat up.
"I said I wouldn't be in for a week. I need to look after you and try and cheer you up to the best of my abilities." He said.
I looked down and smiled.
"Can I check your arm?" He asked.
"If you want." I said quietly.
"Let me get the stuff and I'll be back." He said and walked out the room.
I smiled and got my tea and slowly started to drink it.

Jack came back and sat on the bed.
I gave him my arm and he started to take the bandage.
We sat in silence for a while before Jack spoke.
"What I said last night. It was wrong of me." He said quietly.
"Its fine." I whispered.
"But its not. What I said it really hurt you. It resulted in you hurting yourself. It can't be fine Alex, it really shouldn't be fine with you." He said and looked at me.
"People have said worse to me. I just took it a step too far and being over sensitive." I said.
"You have every right to be over sensitive. Your brother has just died. Your a mess of emotions right now." He said.
I looked down.
"I have no reason to be upset." I said.
Jack stop what he was doing and placed a finger under my chin and made me look at him.
"Your bother is dead. You two were really close, you got a reason to be upset. You can't ignore how you feel." He said.
I sighed.
"Just don't let this get to you. Mourn, take as long as you need to. Just don't let this get you so down that you can't get back up again." He said.
I looked at him.
"Seriously. Just don't let this eat you up." He said.
I smiled and moved and hugged him which he returned.
"Thank you." I whispered.
"You don't have thank me." He said and pulled back.
"Now, I'm going to clean your arm up and your going to have a shower and get dressed and I'm taking you out. My treat." He smiled.
I smiled and Jack carried on cleaning my arm.

We went to this little pizza a place.
"Is this you taking me out on a date?" I asked and looked at Jack.
A small blush began to show on his face.
" You are! You asshole." I chuckled.
"Okay, yes this is me taking you out in a date." He said.
I smiled.
"Well you did choose the right place to take me." I said.
Jack smiled.
"You need good food since you haven't eaten form the last 4 days. So I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and take you out and make it a date. Didn't think you would work out what I was doing this quickly." He said.
I chuckled.
" My mood might be blue than my balls, but I know when someone is taking me out on the date." I said.
"Didn't know your balls where blue." Jack said.
I chuckled.
" But we're not speaking about how blue my balls are." I said.
Jack smiled.
"That's true. But we are going to talk about whatever you want to talk about." He said.
I smiled.
"I don't even know." I said quietly.

We left the pizza place and we went for a walk round this park.
"Me and Jacob used to come here when we wanted to escape everything at home." I said quietly.
Me and Jack sat down on the grass.
"What used to happen when you was at home?" He asked quietly.
"The unimaginable." I whispered.
I felt Jack pull me to his side.
"They used to do stuff." I sniffed.
"You don't have to think about them now." Jack said quietly and I felt him kiss the top of my head.
"They are always in my head. They always haunt my thoughts, my dreams everything." I sniffed slowly going into melt down.
Jack pulled away and made me look at him.
"I'll do everything I can to protect you. I'll try and keep you safe." He said and moved some hair from my eyes.
I smiled and sniffed.
I didn't know I was crying until Jacks thumb gently moved across my cheek.
"Don't cry." He said quietly.
I smiled and looked down.
"Don't look down." He said quietly and I looked at him.
Before I knew I felt Jack kiss me.
He pulled back and looked down.
"Sorry." He said quietly and looked away.
I pulled his face round to look at me.
"Don't be." I whispered and kissed him which he returned.
We both pulled back.
I smiled and so did Jack.
"I understand if you say no I don't mind. Because it means I can ask you another time. Will you go out with me?" Jack asked.
I smiled and kissed him again.
"Yes." I said against his lips.
Jack smiled and kissed me harder than before.
"Its cold, let's go home." Jack said and stood up and offered me his hand.
I smiled and took his hand and got up.
We walked home hand in hand and with smiles on our faces.
