Partners in Crime

Alex's POV

"Here Alex, heard there's a newbie starting." My colleague/friend Bishop said.
His name wasn't bishop, but everyone just called him that.
"Really? Ugh, I haven't even had coffee." I mumbled to myself.
"Maybe someone you can have a good time with." Someone else said.
"Christ, its too early for this." I said and got my coffee and walked to chiefs office.

I knocked on the door and waited to be called in.
I had a cereal bar thing which I started eating when I got called in.
"Seriously." I muttered and walked in.
"Alex take a seat." He said.
"Can I finish my breakfast first?" I asked with my mouthful.
"Eat while we speak." He said.
"Fine by me." I said and carried on eating.
"Alex I want you to meet Jack." He said and the person showed up.
I looked up and saw this perfect human being but me being me I was a ass.
"What do you want me to do with him?" I asked and drunk my coffee.
"Show him round and let him shadow you." He said.
"Why not bishop?" I asked.
"Because you need someone to boss around." He said with a smile.
"Christ I didn't tell everyone just so you can hire someone so I might just get in their pants." I said.
I looked at the newbie who looked really awkward.
"Go Alex, you have a case take Jack with you. And don't forget to offer him coffee as well." Chief said.
"And we're gone. Follow me if you want coffee." I said and walked off with newbie following me.

"So, how long have you been a CSI?" I asked since I was bored and forgot my iPod so I couldn't listen to that on route to crime scene.
"2 years, but I was an apprentice so I left and wanted to see what it is like to do it in my own." He said.
"Cool." I said.
"What about you?" He asked.
"4 years." I said and looked at him since we was stuck in traffic.
"fucking traffic." I muttered to myself.
"Here look in there and see if there's sweets in there." I said.
So he did and shook his head.
"Damnit." I muttered and he chuckled.
"Hungry?" He asked.
"Starving, but case before food unless we have the evidence then its food before labs but normally its just living on coffee." I said.
"Sounds like uni." He chuckled.
"But unlike uni, we can't fuck up." I said and we got to this crime scene.

" What we got then?" I asked as I walked towards the body.
Newbie followed closely.
"Unidentified male. Stab wounds to front and back." The ME said and looked at me.
"Poor bastard. Pissed somebody off." I said and looked round.
"There's no evidence of the crime happening here." Newbie said and we looked at him.
"Why do you say that?" I asked.
"There's no blood pool or blood splatter on any of the surrounding objects. Also.. There's this." He said and pointed to something.
I looked at it and it was something under victim fingernail.
"Good job newbie." I said and got the evidence.
" Bag him up and give us a call when you have something." I said to the ME and looked round with Jack following like always.

We got back to the lab and I gave the evidence to someone to sort out.
"Oh come on you hunk of shit." Newbie said to the vending machine.
I chuckled and walked over.
"Top tip. Smack it right here..." I said and showed him where to hit the machine.
".. and you'll have your food. But don't do it when chief is around otherwise he'll take it from you and make you pay." I said and gave newbie the snack.
I went to the coffee machine and got myself a coffee and went and did some work.
