Forgive me. Please?

Jacks POV

It was raining so I made sure Isla wore warm clothes since she felt the cold really badly.
"Isla come on!" I said loudly as I put my coat on.
"Can I take Lamby with me?" She asked.
"No, because you go to bed with Lamby don't you and you don't want it to get dirty and broken do you?" I said.
She was going to protest but thought it was better not to.
"okay." She said and put the toy on the sofa and walked over to me and I put her coat on.

We got to the preschool and Alex was there with Archie.
Archie had a coat on but Alex only had a hoodie on and he looked like he was frozen since it was coming into winter and it was much colder than what it was a couple of days ago.
I walked over to him and stood next to him.
I could hear him shivering and his teeth was chattering loudly.
"Daddy?" Archie said and looked at Alex from between his legs.
"Y..Y..Yeah bud." Alex shivered.
"You cold?" He asked.
"A..A..A little but I'll be fine." Alex said.
"You can have my coat." Archie said.
"Its a bit small for me so you keep it." Alex said and smiled at Archie.
"Why don't you have a coat in?" I asked Alex.
"Can't afford one." He simply said not looking at me.
"I have one you can have." I said.
Alex shook his head.
" I want nothing of yours." He shivered.
I rolled my eyes.
"Well whether you like it or not I'm taking you for another coffee and warming you up." I said seriously.
"I..I..I don't need your pity Jack." He spat and shivered more than before.
"Its not pity. Have my coat I could always cope with the cold better than you." I said and took my jacket off and put it over his shoulders.
Alex looked at me and smiled and pulled the jacket more over himself.
We took the kids inside and said goodbye and went to this coffee shop.

"You really need a coat." I said and sat down.
"I..I..I don't have the money." He said quietly and tucked in the soup I got him.
"How come?" I asked.
"Archie. I have to make sure he has food and a roof over his head." He said.
"I can give you some money." I said.
Alex looked at me and looked down.
"No. You need me out of your life." He said quietly.
"5 years is long enough." I said.
Alex sniffed and went to stand up.
"Come back to mine. We have can have a serious talk." I said.
I was expecting him to shake his head but he nodded his head.
I smiled and drunk my coffee and we went to mine.
