I was living a nightmare, I had this horrible dream that Jessie attacked me. He came up behind me and attacked me.

I was saved though by a mysterious stranger, I didn’t know who he was all I know is that he saved me. My nightmare changed into something else, it changed into a memory from my birthday.


**FLASHBACK**

ALEX POV

"Who was it?"
"What's going on?"

My friends questions swirled through my head but I never answered.iwas a mess, I picked up my car keys and went to walk out butRianand Zack stopped me.

"OH NO, you don’t Gaskarth. Tell us what's happening," Zack said sternly.

"Carlieis in the hospital, now if you don’t mind I need to go to my girlfriend," I almost shouted but it came out barely above a whisper.

I had never seen my friends move so fast when I said that,Riandrove me because I was panickingtomuch too drive.

We got to the hospital in record time because Rian broke about 20 road rules to get us there. I didn’t even let Rian park I was out the door and running into the hospital before anyone else. I ran as fast as i could to the reception desk

"Carlie Gaskarth... I mean Carlie Carter where is she?" I asked breathlessly as my friends ran in behind me. I didn’t even realise I had called Carlie by my name until I thought for a second while the lady behind the desk checked her system.

Carlie Gaskarth it has a nice ring to it.

"She's on the 3rd floor room 394," the lady replied.

I ran like the wind to the third floor not even stopping to wait for the elevator I just took the stairs. I got outside room 394 and I stopped, hesitating at the door. I couldn’t do it, Icouldn't go inside. my friends made it to the room and looked at me staring at the door.

"Alex, Carlie needs you. Go on you can do it; I'll be right beside you," Cass said holding my hand and opening the door.

The room was empty except for Carlie lying helplessly in a bed. I let go of Cass' hand and walked to Carlie's side taking her hand in mine; she was covered in bruises. she looked so small; it made me really mad seeing the bruises because I knew who had done this to her.

"Alex dear you're here,"Carlie's grandma said from behind me.

"Hi, Susan, yeah I just got here. What's happening?" I asked tears streaming down my face.

"We are just waiting for her to wake up. This young man here," her grandma answered and pointed at the person behind her before continuing, "He was the one who saved Carlie."

I instantly bombarded him with questions.

Where did it happen?
What did the person look like?
How did he stop it?
Did Carlie say anything?

I was hysterical, the mysterious guy didn’t get a chance to answer though because I felt someone squeeze my hand. I knew straight away who it was. It was Carlie. I turned to look at her and started crying again. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at me.

"Hey, you're awake. How you feeling?" I asked Carlie completely forgetting about the mysterious man.

"I'm ok, just a bit sore," Carlie replied weakly,

I turned to the person who saved Carlie's life and said, "Thank you for saving her. We all really appreciate it. What's your name? i don't recognize you."

"My name's Elliott," He replied and then said, "I'm new here I start at Dulaney high in January."

"oh ok. What year?" I asked.

"I'm a senior," He answered.

"Awesome we're all Juniors," I said pointing at me and my friends.

"Well maybe I will see you guys around. I'm glad Carlie's ok. If you ever need anything let me know. See you around, hope you get better soon Carlie" With that he left.

I turned back to Carlie and she was looking at me.



**FAST FORWARD ONE WEEK**
Carlie was on bed rest. The only person aloud round her house was me. I was aloud round because Carlie wanted me there. I had spent every waking moment with her, I even got to spend the night most of the time, because she didnt want to be alone. Carlie had been home 5 days; she only had to stay in the hospital 2 days for observation.

Every night she was waking up screaming, shaking and sweating from nightmares. I was trying the hardest I could to help her but it was extremely hard. She hardly spoke to anyone except me and even then it was forced or because I had asked her something. I was scared because I didn’t really know whether she would be ok but I hoped so much she would be.

She was lying next to me asleep when I received a text from Jack.

From Jack-o:
My HOUSE NOW!!!!!

To Jack-o:
I'll be 10 mins.
I texted back as I got up and left.
