Miss You Already

"Mr Barakat I'm afraid the news isn't good." My doctor said.
"Well of course it isn't good if I'm here." I said.
"Mr Barakat you have cancer." He said seriously and looked at me.
I looked down.
"You have Non- Hodgkin lymphoma." The doctor said.
I zoned out to what he was saying as I had to try and let the news sink into my head.
"We'll start you on a course of chemotherapy to get rid of the cancer cells." He said.
I nodded.
"When will that start?" I asked quietly.
"Hopefully next week." He said.
I nodded again and got up.
"Thanks." I said.
"I'll be seeing you after you chemo treatment has finished to see if your in the clear or not." The doctor said and got up and shook my hand.
With that I left.

I only wanted to talk to one person and that was Alex.
I looked for his number and when I found it I rung him.

After the 5th ring he answered.
"Hey Jacko what's up?" He asked happily and a bit breathless.
"I need to see you." I said as I walked out the hospital.
"I'm a bit tied up right now." He said and moaned quietly.
"Ew, you having sex while on the phone?" I asked.
"No." He said seriously but the sound of him being kissed gave the game away.
"Your disgusting Alexander." I chuckled.
"That's me." He chuckled as well.
"Look, your busy. Please say you can see me as this is really important." I said.
"Give me an hour and I'm all yours." He said.
"Okay, enjoy your fuck." I chuckled.
"I'm planning to don't you worry." He said but i could hear him smirking.
"See ya later." I said.
"In a bit." Alex said and hung up.
I chuckled and went to the place where me and Alex normally meet up.

An hour later Alex showed up.
"What's with the scarf? It's not even cold." I said as he sat down.
He took his scarf off and his neck was literally covered in hickies.
"That's with the scarf." He said and put it back on.
"Slut." I chuckled.
"Says the guy with 4 kids." He chuckled as well.
I rolled my eyes at him.
"Aw, you got me coffee as well. You know me too well." He smiled and pulled his feet up on the chair.
I smiled.
"So what's so important that you disturbed my afternoon fuck session?" He asked.
"I have cancer." I said bluntly since Alex was probably the only person I could be blunt about this too.
"What?" He asked shocked and confused and put his coffee down and lent forward so I didnt have to speak louder than what I should do.
"I have Non- Hodgkin lymphoma." I said.
"Shut the fuck up!" Alex said seriously and looked down.
"Wish I could say I was joking." I said quietly and looked down.
"Have you told Rosie and the kids?" He asked.
I shook my head.
"I found out today and you're the first person I told." I said.
I looked at Alex who was looking at me who had a small smile on his face.
"Glad to see I'm more important than your wife." He chuckled.
"Bros before Hoes." I chuckled.
"Too fucking right." Alex smiled.
I smiled as well.

Me and Alex spent most of the afternoon together laughing and messing around.
I could always relie on Alex to cheer me up and take my mind of the whole cancer thing.
When I finally got home the kids was just going to bed.

"Daddy's home!" The youngest Erin, shouted and soon they all came running over and knocked me over onto the sofa.
"Careful guys." I chuckled.
"Where have you been?" Our eldest Oliver asked.
"I went to see uncle Alex." I said.
"When can we see him?" Our second eldest Jamie asked and jumped on my lap.
"Dunno, shell I see if I can drag him and Alfie round tommorow if mummy will let us." I said and looked at Rosie.
"Why not, haven't seen your gay lover for a while." She smiled.
I smiled and texted Alex to see if he wanted to come round which he said yes to coming over with Alfie.

Me and Rosie got the kids to bed and was watching a film in bed.
"Where did you disappear to this morning? Don't say with Alex because I spotted him while working so you weren't with him." Rosie said.
Damnit Alex.
"I had to pop to work." I lied.
"Then spent all afternoon with Alex. Babe I know you two are close and everything but we have four kids under the age of 7. It's hard work especially with Erin." She said and rested her head on my chest.
"I know. I'm sorry." I said and kissed the top of her head.
"But I did marry into sharing you with Alex." She chuckled and looked at me.
"Yeah but you would be lost without Alex as well." I said.
She chuckled.
"Yes I would be lost without the gayness he brings to this family." She said.
I laughed.
"It's true." She laughed as well and slapped my chest.
I smiled and we watched the movie until we fell asleep.
