Dancing with the wolves

Will's POV

I for the kids and went back to Alex's.
"Why we going to grumps and pops house?" Zig asked since he had hold of my hand while I carried Flo.
"Because mummy needs some help and grumps can help her so we're staying with grumps and pops for a while." I said.
"Is mummy poorly?" Flo asked.
"Yeah she is, but she's going to get better." I said.
"When we get back can I make mummy a card?" Zig asked.
"Sure you can." I said and we got to Alex's and Jacks.

The kids was making cards for Aidan.
I just watches them and Jack came out and stood next to me.
"What they doing?" Jack asked quietly.
"Making cards for Aid." I said.
" That's sweet, I'm sure Aid will like that." Jack said and I smiled.
"I have these two under control, go upstairs and spend some time with her. She needs you more at the moment. Me and Alex have the terrors you two should spend some time as just you two." Jack said.
"We can't do that Jack. Their our kids we should look after them." I said.
"Me and Alex have been there and done it with the kids. We just want to help you two while you both are in this difficult time." He said.
I sighed and looked down.
"Your wife needs you. Don't make the same mistakes I did." Jack said and I looked at him.
Jack got hold of my arm and took me too the sitting room.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked.
"A few years ago I did something unforgivable. It pushed Alex over the edge and he ended up nearly killing himself. But not before he got to where Aidan is at now. He hardly ate anything he was like skin and bone, he self harmed to the point where he was beyond help. I wasn't there for him like how I should of been. Everyone hated me because of what I did, and I can never forgive myself for the pain and heartbreak I had put everyone through. I know that in your heart you want to be with Aidan and you listen to your heart, let me and Alex look after the kids while you look after Aidan." Jack said and looked down.
"Why you telling me this?" I asked.
"Because I don't want you too fuck up your marriage, I don't want you to lose your children and most importantly I don't want you to give up on Aidan, I know what she has is hard, incredibly hard but you have to be there for her otherwise you'll lose her and maybe you might lose her for good and you can't put yourself and your children through that Will, you just can't." He said and looked at me.
"How did you cope? With everything?" I asked.
"Being honest, I didn't. I spent days in bed I didn't care what everyone did. I blamed myself for everything." He said quietly.
I stayed quiet.
"Promise me you'll look after Aid for me and Alex." Jack said.
"I promise." I said quietly.
"Go and be with her." Jack said and I smiled and went to Aidan.

Alex was just walking out the room.
"She's asleep, but she's been asking for you." He said quietly.
I smiled and quietly walked in.
I took my shoes off and climbed over Aidan and cuddled into her back.
"Will?" Aidan asked quietly.
"Yeah its me." I said and kissed her cheek which made her smile.
"Where the kids?" She asked and rolled over and faced me.
"They are currently making you a card and running rings round your parents." I said and Aidan chuckled.
"I love you." Aidan said quietly.
" I love you too." I said and kissed the end of her nose.
She smiled and cuddled into my chest and slowly fell asleep.
