Dancing with the wolves

"Is granny coming over?" Zig asked as he wondered into the kitchen in his PJ's a d dragging his toy behind him.
"Yeah, granny coming over." I said and made Aidan a tea to take back upstairs for her.
"Is grandad coming over as well?" He asked.
"I don't have a clue about grandad." I said and picked him up.
Mum and dad have had a huge fallen out so dad doesn't want to be anywhere near mum which I don't really blame him as mum can be a right bitch sometimes.
"Right you, go in the sitting room while i take mummy a cup of tea up to her amd I'll be back down and we can watch cartoons until mummy and Florence get up and join us." I said.
Zig nodded and i put him down and he went wondering off to the sitting room and put the tv on.
I picked Aid's cup up and went upstairs.

Florence was babbling away while Aidan was still asleep.
"Hey there sleepy head." I said quietly and sat on her side of the bed.
"Fuck off." She mumbled.
"Charming." I chuckled and put her cup on her bed side table.
"I've made you a tea." I said.
"Thank you." She whispered.
I smiled and got up.
"Want to watch cartoons with me and Zig?" I asked Florence.
She nodded and walked over to me and put her arms up in the air and I picked her up.
"The kids are with me. Enjoy your lie in." I said quietly too Aidan.
"Okay and I was planning to." She yawned and rolled to my side of the bed.
I chuckled and went downstairs.

Aidan showed her face after nine which for us was a huge lie in from the 5 am wake up calls we have in the mornings.
"Morning beautiful." I said and looked over the sofa at her.
"Morning. I'm definitely not feeling beautiful this morning." She said and put her hand over her mouth and ran to the downstairs loo and I heard her throw up.
"Mummy poorly?" Florence asked and looked at me.
"A little." I said and stood up and but Florence in my spot.
"Keep my seat warm for me." I said and walked to the bathroom.
"Aid you okay?" I asked and knocked on the door since she had locked it.
"Let me vom in peace." She said and threw up again.
"Aid let me in." I said and I heard her walk towards the door and unlocked it and opened it and looked at me.
"Do you seriously want to see my throwing my guts up?" She asked.
"I promised too look after you in sickness and in health." I said.
She smiled.
"Think I've finished throwing up." She said quietly and walked over to the toilet and flushed it and washes her mouth out with water.
"Right guys who wants a fry up?" I asked.
"Me!" The kids both said.
"We have two sets of piggys." Aidan chuckled.
"You want a fry up as well?" I asked.
"Want me to come again?" She asked and looked at me.
I chuckled.
"No I don't, but I'll do you some toast." I said and pulled her close to me.
"Okay, want me to help or you cooking for us?" She asked and traced her finger over one of my tattoos I had on my chest.
"I can manage you go and sit down with the kids." I said and kissed her.
She smiled into the kiss.
"Don't burn the house down." She said quietly and went to join the kids and watched Sponge Bob Square Pants which she loved anyway.

We all got dressed and by the time I got downstairs mother was knocking on the door.
"And the day of hell begins." Aidan muttered and opened the door.
"Chrissie, come on in." Aidan said forcing a smile on her face.
"He still with you then." Mum spat at her.
"Of course." Aidan said.
"Mum don't start. Otherwise you can go." I said seriously.
"I'm sorry." Mum said.
"Now where are my beautiful grandchildren." She said a little louder so the kids heard her.
They both came running out and nearly knocked mum on the floor.
"Careful you two." Aidan said and walked off to probably clean upstairs so she was out the way.


Mum looked at me.
"That wife of yours has a serious attitude problem." She said and picked Florence up.
"You get more gorgeous every time I see you." Mum said and kissed Florence cheek.
"She doesn't like people who look down their noses at her." I said.
"Still, no need to behave like she does. You two have two children and her attitude will rub onto them." Mum said.
"Aidan is her own person and she is unique with her 'attitude'. You might not like her but I love her the way she is and I wouldn't want her to change for anyone." I said.
"Anyway, do you see our children behaving like her? No you don't so don't say her attitude is rubbing off on them because it's not." I said.
Mum looked at me a little shocked.
"Daddy?" Zig asked and I looked at him.
"Yeah bud." I said and picked him up.
"Where's mummy?" He asked and messed with my shirt.
"Mummy has to clean your and Flo room. She'll be down in a bit." I said.
"Oh, I want to help." He said.
"What about granny? She has come to see you and Flo." I said.
He thought about it.
"Granny then help mummy." He said.
"Sounds like a deal." I said and put him down.
He went running over to mum.
"Want a drink?" I asked her.
"Can I have a tea please sweetie?" She asked.
I nodded and made her a drink.
"I'll be back in a second I need to check on Aidan." I said and handed mum her drink.
"She'll be fine come and talk to me." She said.
"I will after I have checked on Aidan." I said and went upstairs.

"Babe?" I said and walked into our room and she was sat on the bed looking really lost and had tears in her eyes.
"Babe what's the matter?" I asked and quickly pulled her to my side.
"I'm fine, I'm just being stupid." She sniffed and wiped her eyes.
"Talk to me." I said and kissed the side of her head.
"I'm fine honestly. Hormones." She said quietly and ran her hand through her hair.
I chuckled.
"Come downstairs." I said quietly.
She shook her head.
"I don't want to be near her." She growled.
"Please, for me." I said and rested my head on her shoulder.
"Fine, but don't expect me to talk to her." She said.
I smiled and got up and offered her my hand which she took and got up and we walked downstairs.

By the time mum went Aidan looked like she could literally murder her.
We shipped the kids to bed like always but we stayed downstairs since Aidan was going to have a good rant to me.
"Fucking woman. The bitch is out to get me I swear." She said and sat next to me on the sofa.
"She not out to get you." I said.
I sensed Aidan just rolled her eyes at me.
"Your just saying that because your mummies boy." She said.
"No, I'm saying it because then you'll stop ranting about it and then we can watch this." I said and showed mpher the DVD we was watching.
She looked down.
"I can't watch that." She said quietly.
"Why not?" I asked.
"Because I can't, please I'm in no mood to watch this." She said.
"Okay, how about this?" I asked and pulled the lion king out at random.
She smiled and nodded.
I put the DVD in and she cuddled up to me.
"I love you." She said quietly.
"I love you too." I said and kissed the top of her head.
Something was up.

"What's the matter?" I asked.
"Nothing." She whispered.
"Babe something is wrong." I said quietly.
She sighed and looked at me.
"I was thinking about how shit life would be if you weren't here." She said quietly.
"Why would you even think that?" I asked.
"I dunno." She whispered and looked down.
I placed a finger under her chin and made her look at me.
"I will always be here." I whispered and kissed her softly and pulled her close to me.
She cuddled more into my side.
I pulled her onto my lap.
I started to mess with her hair which I knew she loved.
"Shell we just go to bed?" I ask quietly.
She nodded and went to moved but I stopped her and stood up and carried her bridal style upstairs to our room.

I hovered above her.
She looked down and I placed a finger under her chin and made her look at me and kissed her.
She pulled my top of over my head.
She looked at me.
I smiled the smile she only got to see.
I pulled her top over her and looked at her.
I kissed her belly and then kissed her.
The door opened.
"Fucking kids." Aidan muttered and I moved.
"Daddy. What you doing?" Flo asked.
"Nothing now. What's the matter?" I said.
"Had really bad nightmare." She sniffed.
"Is she allowed in our bed?" I asked.
"Yeah." Aidan said and pulled my hoodie on.
"Jump in sweetie." I said and pulled the covers back and Flo climbed in the middle of the bed.
"Bang goes our plan." I said.
"Shame, I was looking forward to it as well." Aidan said and rolled into her side and cuddled Flo.
I chuckled and got into bed and faced them.
Aidan whispered something in Florence ear.
"Night night daddy." Flo whispered.
"Night night sweetie." I whispered.
Aidan smiled and slowly fell asleep.
I just watched them sleep.
