Knots in the Ties

First Date

I didn’t know what it was about her that made me want to be with her. Maybe it was because it felt like I’ve known her for years. There was no way that that was true, but that didn’t stop me from feeling like that. Besides, I really like that friendly aura around her. It felt… right.
“Where are we going?” Jamie asked me as I started to drive.
“I was thinking that we could go see a movie,” I answered. “There is this new chick flick out. Do you want to see it?”
“No, I want to see that new comedy. That shit looks like it will be hilarious.”
“You seriously want to see that?”
“Fuck yeah!”
I chuckled. “The more I hang with you, the more you remind me of Jack. Next thing you’ll do is ask if we can walk Home Alone after we watch that new movie.”
“Can we? That’s movie is the greatest movie ever created!”
“Are you his clone or something? Even my cousins don’t act as much as I as you act like Jack.”
“I guess I’m just special.”
“You are definitely special.”
We pulled up to the movie theater as quickly found a parking spot. I had thought that because she was a girl she would want to see a girly movie. The one she actually wanted to see was going to start soon. She was about to get out of the car, but I stopped. I got out and walked over to her side, opening the door for her. “You’re such a gentleman.”
“Anything for a beautiful girl like you.” I flashed her my famous smile which caused her cheeks to get a little bit of a red tint. “Now let’s go. The movie is going to be starting soon.”
She nodded and got out of the car. I held her hand as we walked into the building. No one was in line for tickets. I walked up to the counter. I pulled my wallet out. “I can pay for my own ticket.”
“I asked you out on a date that I plan on paying for. You can pay for part of the snacks if you want.” She nodded as I paid for our tickets. We walked over to the concession stand. I planned on buying the popcorn and a drink for us. If she really wanted to, she could buy some candy. Although, the only thing that was sweet that I wanted was her lipstick covered mouth. “I want a large popcorn and a large drink.”
“Can I get some candy?”
“Sure, and I’m giving you permission to pay for that yourself if you want.”
“Ok, I will.” She started to look at the various types of candy that she could select from. Her eyebrows were furrowed just like Jack’s did when he was thinking. It was rather cute. Wait. By calling her cute, did I call Jack cute too? I was knocked out of my train of thought when Jamie put a pack of Sour Patch Kids and a Butterfinger on the counter. She dug through the purse that she bought today, pulled out her wallet, and handed the cashier the money for it. “You can have some too.”
“Thanks. What do you want to drink? Your choice.”
“Can we get a suicide?”
“What’s that?”
“It’s when you mix all of the drink together. Luna told me that it’s really good.” She whispered the next part. “She also told me that if I didn’t try it she would turn me into a frog.”
I laughed at that. However, I did notice the look in Jamie’s eyes. She looked serious. Oh well. It was probably just code for “I’m going to kick your ass”.
After the guy behind the counter gave me the popcorn and “suicide”, Jamie and I went over to the theater where the movie we would be watching would be playing. As soon as I stepped in, I noticed that all of the back seats were taken. In fact, the only ones left were the ones in the front section of the room. This sucked. I was really hoping that we could get a seat in the back, so we could make out.
“Let’s get a seat before the movie starts,” Jamie said as she grabbed my hand and dragged me to a seat in the front. I wasn’t a fan of the front, but what choice did we have? “The front’s my favorite.” Jack’s favorite was the front too. Huh.
The lights dimmed, and eventually went off when the movie started. This was a thousand times better than any chick flick. I was laughing my ass off and so was Jamie. The way her face looked when that almost familiar laugh left her mouth reminded me of Jack. Is this wrong that I’m not finding that as a turn-off?
After the movie, I drove her home. I was now standing with her outside of her Jack’s place. She seemed a little bit nervous as she moved the keys around in her hand. I couldn’t really tell if she wanted me to kiss her or not. The keys told me yes, but the fact that she was nervous told me no. I decided I go for it. What do I have to lose? It’s just a kiss. Perhaps I ask her just in case.
“Are you waiting for your good night kiss?”
She didn’t say anything. She just looked into my eyes. I could tell she wanted it, so I leaned up and kissed her. It took her a second, but she started to kiss back. It started off simple, just lip to lip contact, but we eventually started to move your mouths together just the right way. I put my hand behind her head to deepen the kiss. She put her arms around me. It was perfect.
“Wow,” I said when we finally pulled away. “Do you want to take this a step further?”
She giggled. “Not tonight. I don’t want to seem like some slut that let’s you fuck them on your first date.”
“Oh ok.”
“Don’t worry. I’m still slutty enough that I might let you on the next date.”
A grin went across my face. Why do I want this so much? Could we actually be something good? “So when do you want to go out again?”
“I don’t know.” She made a dramatic thinking face. “How about this Friday?”
“Sounds good. I’ll pick you up at 7:00.”
“Ok.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow. You’re coming to hang with us right?”
“Yeah. I’m going to challenge you guys to some video game action. I’m so going to kick your ass.”
“Oh really?”
“Fuck yeah!”
“You cuss a lot for a girl.”
“But you like it.”
“True.”
I gave her one last peck before waving goodbye and getting in my car. As I drove home, I thought about how I was definitely going to thank Jack for leaving and have his cousin come her. I wonder how he’s going to react when he finds out. Oh well. It’s not his decision. I’m going to date her, and he better like it. Actually, part of me wants him t approve. I hope he does.

I might. I'm busy right now with school which is why all of my stories are really late. I don't like the fact that I didn't finish the sequel, but I want to rewrite this. I'll put this with the other stories that I want to write for the summer.

Well, Alice-Anna St. is the street my other favorite band is named after, Alesana.
Our school doesn't do any competition, but I think Newton Falls which is a town over and where my dad lives got to learn how to play All the Small Things. My friend Shelby told me since she's in band, and I was like gurl, why couldn't I have gotten to play stuff like that. Our school isn't that large either. In fact, it's a school for Leavittsburg and Braceville with kids from Warren, Champion, and Newton Falls kids. The only big thing our school has ever done is have our basketball team go to state last year, which I didn't care for since I hate LaBrae anyway.
Your guy's band sounds a lot more fun. Hell, if it wasn't for me being so much into art class, I'd still be in it if we did stuff like that. The closest fun stuff is sometimes they get to go to New York if they have money, but mostly Cedar Point.

Really? that sounds kinda boring :P we always played something new and different, so that people would actually show up to class and played the competition songs in practice when the whole band was together. Like when we were in gr.10 the band I was in, was invited to come play in Disney land, so we learned lots of the Disney songs and the person that used to do the voice of Donald duck was our adjudicator and it was so awesome to meet him.
And sure it's not cause of ATL ;) I toatly would to if I could haha

I actually just looked it up because I was pretty sure that universities are just bigger and that's what it is. A university is like a bunch of colleges together. Colleges have more specific degrees and universities have a bunch more. I plan on going to a university, and I sooo don't just want to go to the University of Baltimore because of ATL. Oh no..... Alice-Anna St. is in Baltimore too. Lol
We learn scales when we first start learning the instrument. There aren't really any to actually tune like a guitar, so we never learned that, but sometimes they will see if we'd play our flutes in tune. I only had that happen once, while my sister's class had that happen more because she had a different teacher. Although, scales we didn't focus on. Once year they were just used as warm ups. We were just told how they work, and so it wasn't something we focused on. Our school mostly just does the songs that they have to do for the next concert over and over again. Then sometimes we'd go into the book as well to practice, but they don't do that much anymore. Although this year they will have weekly tests on new notes which is different since we have never had any tests at all in band.
