I'm Your Biggest Fan
It was another late night at the hospital for Kaiya Sanders. She had just finished checking on her patients and noting changes in their condition. She stretched out as she slowly made her way to the nurse’s station. She smiled at her friend and fellow nurse, Keira McNight. “I’m gonna go grab dinner, do you want anything as long as I’m going?”
Keira politely shook her head as she voiced her answer. “No thanks, I’ll page you if you’re needed,” Kaiya smiled gratefully and headed down the hall and to the elevator. She quietly stood in the elevator and hit the button for the tenth floor. She pulled her wallet from her pocket and double checked that the ten dollar bill was still in there. She quickly walked towards the cafeteria and grabbed a garden salad and a vitamin water, and quickly headed for check out. She gave the new guy a small smile and handed him her money before quickly making her way towards the seat near the window she liked to stare out.
She took her seat and was about to open her salad when her pager went off. She sighed and checked the little black device and jumped up quick. She grabbed her salad, water and made her way back to the elevator quickly. As soon as the doors opened, she sprinted back to the nurse’s station. She turned the corner and walked to the nurse’s station to see Keira glaring at the one and only Annika Mason.
“I’m so sorry, Kai! She said it was something with your broth-“ Keira was quickly cut off by the semi-rude scorpio in front of her.
“It was the only way to get her to page you,” Annika whined with a pout on her face as she brushed her hair out of her eyes. “I got us tickets,” She then added on excitedly. “It’s kind of like a late Christmas gift!”
Kaiya let out a soft sigh before asking Keira an important question, “So my patients are okay?” When the brunette in question nodded, Kaiya grabbed her dinner and took a seat in the chair next to Keira. “Why don’t you go get food, I’ll watch over the patients,” She stated knowing that Keira was probably hungry. Keira slowly stood up and walked away. Kaiya turned to face Annika and glared at her. “You could have asked where I was. She would have sent you to the cafeteria.”
“I’m sorry,” She looked ashamed for all of two seconds before pushing the tickets in Kaiya’s face. “You have to go. We already know you’re off!”
Kaiya pulled the tickets in question from her friend’s hand and glanced at them. “You’re the All Time Low fan, not me,” She pointed out the obvious issue. Annika pouted at her best friend.
“But I want you to come with me… And, Hey Monday and Cobra Starship are playing too,” Annika tried to convince Kaiya with a pleading look on her face. “Come on, you like two out of three, it’ll be fun!” Kaiya groaned knowing that if she said no she’d never hear the end of it.
“Fine,” She agreed with a frown on her face. Annika squealed happily and hugged Kaiya tightly. “Now can I eat my dinner? I skipped lunch and had a banana for breakfast. I’m starving,” Annika nodded and released Kaiya from her embrace.
“See you at home,” Annika quickly made her exit and left Kaiya to think about what she had just gotten herself into. She slowly ate her salad and didn’t even notice Keira getting back with her soup. The rest of the night passed by rather quickly. Kaiya made her way home and parked in the lot and made her way up to her apartment. She changed into pajamas and followed her usual before bed ritual and quietly made her way to bed.
