What's My Age Again?

I had one more class to go before lunch time. I liked my health class, my teacher was super chill. All we were doing today was watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs to learn 'how food can negatively affect the body.' I'd seen the movie more times than I can count on one hand.

I took out my phone so I could scroll down my Tumblr dashboard. After seeing the third ad for the Kim Kardashian game I clicked on the search icon. I wanted to see what would come up if I searched Alex's name. Most of the post were pictures he took with fans, gifs, quotes from him, and fanfiction putting him with other band guys and girls. His fans seemed really passionate it was sweet and was kind of scary at times. Looking at all of the pictures made me miss him so I went to our messages to text him.

From Jack:
Hey!

It was almost ten minutes before I got a response from him.

From Alex:
Hey :)

From Jack:
What are you doing?

From Alex:
Lying in bed texting a cute guy. Wbu?

From Jack:
I wish I was in bed but I'm in class texting an even hotter guy.

From Alex:
Well I highly doubt he looks better haha what class are you in?

I didn't know if they had health class in college so I lied.

From Jack:
Psychology it's pretty easy.

From Alex:
Is that your major?

From Jack:
No it’s nursing.

That’s what I really wanted to do when I really went to college.

From Alex:
Oh! You only have like one more year to go right?

I quickly did the math in my head and if Kellin and I were pretending to be twenty-one that meant we should be in our junior year of college. These lies were starting to get out of hand.

From Jack:
Yeah just one more year and I'll be done with this!

We talked the rest of my class time and then he had to go meet with some new producers and his band mates. I didn't mind since it was my lunchtime and my friends would think it was so rude if I texted someone the entire time we ate.

I caught up with Kellin and we went through the food line together. I didn't like the food here on campus but we weren't allowed to leave for lunch until we became juniors. God I wasn't even a high school junior and I was lying to Alex about being a college junior. We went to our usual table and sat with our two friends Jenna and Lynn. People often thought we were dating because we were guys and they were girls, but that obviously wasn't the case. Lynn was lesbian and Jenna was bi and we all just clicked with each other.

"Yeah hopefully I won't have to work next Halloween so we can actually go out somewhere." Lynn complained to Jenna as we sat down.

"Yeah try to ask for the night off." Kellin said joining the conversation.

"What did you two do that night?" Jenna asked.

"We stayed at Jack's and watching scary movies and eating junk." Kellin answered.

"Yeah it was pretty boring." I added to make it more convincing. If we told them about the party or Alex and Vic they would probably flip out. They could sometimes be overprotective, especially Lynn.

"Well we all had shitty nights." Lynn said. "We should do something this weekend to make up for it." She suggested. We always said we were going to do things together, but we all never really hung out outside of school. We were all either too busy or too lazy to do anything. I nodded in agreement nonetheless.

I idly heard them make plans to do something, but I wasn’t really listening. Then I heard Jenna say, “Yeah let’s just go then!”

"Wait! Do what when?" I asked.

"We're going to go see that Witch movie this Friday night." Lynn said.

I couldn't go with them. I had dinner plans with Alex on Friday. "Oh I can't Friday. Um May and I are supposed to be doing something." I rolled my eyes as if I didn't want to.

"What about Saturday?" Jenna asked.

"I can go Saturday!" I told them.

"I can't." Kellin said and we all sighed.

"What the hell guys. Why is it so hard for us to hang out together?" Jenna said.

"Yeah this sucks. How about we try again next weekend." Lynn said and we agreed.

The rest of lunch was filled with us complaining about school. We had so much homework and on top of that winter finals were approaching. I felt like a college student with all this stress from school.

We got up and threw our food away. The bell was about to ring for us to go to our last class of the day. We stood by Jenna's locker talking about some girl in our grade who just found out she was pregnant. She was leaving to go to the alternate school they sent all the girls to when they go pregnant, if they didn’t just drop out. It was going around the school because our History teacher was her mom other than that I wouldn't of really cared.

The bell rang and Kellin and I told Lynn and Jenna goodbye and walked to our art class. We sat in our normal seats next to each other and pulled out the projects we were working on last class. I was nowhere near decent in art but Kellin was talented. We had to take this class to graduate for some reason.

"What are you drawling again?" Kellin asked as he looked at my work.

"It's a T-Rex!" I exclaimed kind of proud that I got the body somewhat right. We were told to draw a time period we wish we could have seen. I was doing prehistoric and Kellin was doing the roaring twenties.

"Oh it looks like a standing dog." He shrugged and I sighed.

"Jeez thanks."

"I wasn't trying to be mean. I just meant you should change it up a bit. Like make his body longer and his head bigger." He suggested.

"Okay I'll try."

"The background looks super good!" He complemented making me feel better.

"Thanks."

"Mhmm. So what are you and May doing this Friday?" He asked. I forgot to tell him that Alex asked me to go on a date with him.

"Oh that was a lie. I actually have a date this Friday." I said and smiled and he gasped dramatically.

"He asked you out?!"

"Yeah."

"Jack! That's amazing! Where are you guys going?"

"I'm not sure. He just said he would pick me up at seven. I guess it's a surprise."

"Aww that's so cute. You must be excited?"

"Yeah I'm so happy to go on a real date." I chuckled. I was doing a lot of first with Alex.

"You have to let me pick out your outfit tonight!" He demanded.

"Kellin is only Tuesday." I rolled my eyes at him.

"Yeah but you shouldn't wait until the last minute. Especially with how indecisive you can be."

"Yeah that's true. Let's go to my house after class."

"I don't want to wear blue." I said to Kellin. He kept trying to get me to try on this stupid blue shirt in my closet.

"Just try it on!"

"No." I said stubbornly.

"Oh my God. What about this one?" He held up a black swoop neck shirt I had. You can't go wrong with black.

"Yeah that'll work." I chuckled.

"It'll probably be kind of cold out that night. Do you have a jacket or blazer to go over this?" He asked.

"Yeah I have a leather jacket and a blazer on the right side, but they’re both black."

"That's fine. He’s probably taking you somewhere fancy so you can wear as much black as you want."

"Oh then I’ll wear the blazer. I’m glad we got this part over with." I sighed.

"Me too. Now on to more important things. Do you think you're going to let him get to second base with you?" He asked and I scoffed at him.

"It's only our first date, I don't think we should do too much."

"You two are moving so slowly.” He jokingly complained. “Can you even see yourself having sex with him?" He wondered out loud.

"I don’t know, maybe. You know once we actually start dating."

"I want every single detail once it happens!"

"There's something wrong with you." I chuckled. "But I'm kind of scared to do anything. I feel like it would be unbearable."

"It does hurt at first, especially if you don't stretch, but after a few thrust it'll feel good. Especially if he's hitting the right spot."

"You make it sound easy, but I know things aren't going to flow that smoothly for me." I said.

"Yeah it will if you relax and take things slow. I'm sure Alex will know what to do."

"Yeah." I said worriedly.

"Hey don't stress about it, I was just messing with you. You don't have to do anything with him soon if you don't want to. We were just talking about the future when you're ready." He told me reassuringly.

"I know. I just hope he doesn't call it quits with me because he doesn't want to wait."

"If he does then he is the biggest asshole, but I don't think he's the type of guy to do something like that. Plus it seems like he likes you a lot so he probably wouldn't mind waiting."

"Does dating three months without sex sound like a long time?" I wanted to make sure we actually had a connection and not just dating to have sex.

"Um for me yes, for you no that seems reasonable." He chuckled.

"Good. Hopefully I can stick with that. I feel like I might talk myself into shortening it if he keeps sweet talking me." I laughed.

"Maybe you can do other things with each other. Like you can blow him or vice versa."

"I don't know how to do that either." I admitted.

"Oh I can teach you so you'll be confident when you're doing it!"

"Yeah since you have so much experience." I mumbled to myself but he heard me.

"Don't talk back to me. Now first thing first...do you have any Popsicles?"
