What's My Age Again?

"Do you want a new video game?" I asked Alex.

"No I have all the games I want right now." He said.

"You're making this so hard for me." I sighed.

I was trying to get him to think about what he wanted for his birthday, but so far he couldn't. It was the Thursday before his birthday and he still couldn't tell me what he wanted. I came to his house straight after school and got in bed with him. We kind of, maybe had sex and now we were cuddling naked in his bed.

"Well think harder. What's something you've wanted but you haven't bought yourself?" I asked.

"Um I can't think of anything. I have everything I want. Just don't worry about buying me a gift." He told me.

"But I have to get you something!" I whined.

"You're all I need. Plus you're taking me to dinner Saturday so that's good enough for me." He said and kissed me. I pouted but I didn't argue. I was just going to have to get creative with me gift.

I still didn't know if I could go to the party without running into May. I didn't ask her what her weekend plans were yet. I couldn't ask Alex if he knew if Matt was coming because Alex didn't even know about the party.

"Are you doing anything with your friends for your birthday?" I asked.

"Well everyone claims they're busy this weekend but they're probably just planning a surprise birthday party for me." He shrugged and I tried not to laugh.

"Why would you think that?"

"Because it's a little suspicious for everyone to be busy at once on the same weekend of my birthday. Usually we don't make plans for each other's birthday weekends." He chuckled. "I'm pretty sure they're trying to surprise me and you're supposed to be my distraction." He guessed.

"What? No I just wanted to take you out for a nice birthday dinner." I tried to play it off.

"Mhmm of course. You can tell me, I won't tell them you told." He said.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I lied and he laughed.

"I know I'm right." He said stubbornly. I didn't answer so I wouldn't give anything away. I cuddled up closer to him and closed my eyes to take a nap.

"You smell like oatmeal." He mumbled and I sighed.

"Yeah my mom thinks I have eczema so I have to put this oatmeal lotion on my neck." I told him.

"Why does she think you have eczema?"

"Because I come home with hickeys on my neck every time I leave you." I said and he burst into laughter. "It's not funny. It's really embarrassing." I complained and he laughed harder.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I didn't know." He chuckled. "I'll try not to be so rough in the future."

"I don't mind it since she'll just think its more rashes." I told him.

"Good cause I didn't want to stop." He said and I rolled my eyes at him.

I closed my eyes again and this time I fell asleep. I woke up hours later alone in Alex's bed. He wasn't in his room or the bathroom. I took a shower in his bathroom and he still wasn't back when I finished. I went through Alex's dressers and put some of his pajamas on. Then I went downstairs to see if he was there.

I walked into the kitchen and saw Zack sitting at the table eating. He smiled at me as he looked up from his phone.

"Hey Zack! Do you know where Alex went?" I asked him.

"Yeah he went grocery shopping with Rian. They should be back soon, they just went to pick up a few things we need." He told me.

"Oh okay thanks." I sat at the table with him because it seemed kind of rude just to walk away.

"So have you planned what you're going to do Saturday to keep Alex busy?" He asked.

"Mhm I'm going to take him out to eat. Rian said you guys won't need long to set up." I said.

"Yeah we should be finished by the time you guys are finished eating."

"You two are going to have to be extra sneaky because Alex is already suspicious. He thinks he knows you guys are doing something special for his birthday." I warned and Zack laughed.

"Leave it to him to figure it out. I'll tell Rian to hide the stuff good so Alex won't accidentally see it."

"Good idea. As long as everyone is careful around him then he won't find out." I said and he nodded. We heard the door being unlocked a few seconds later. Alex and Rian walked in with Walmart bags in their hands.

"Hey you're finally up." Alex chuckled and came over to kiss me.

"Yeah I really needed that nap." I said.

"Hey Ri, did you get that stuff I asked you for earlier?" Zack asked and Rian sighed. The victorious smile on Alex's face let me know that something went wrong.

"You don't have to sneak anymore. He knows." Rian said and Alex laughed.

"How the hell did he find out?" Zack asked.

"I accidentally told him that I needed to buy alcohol for the party." He said.

"I knew you guys were planning on doing something." Alex gloated. "Now it can be a regular party."

"No it won't! Jack's still going to take you to dinner and you're going to act surprised when you both get here! No one but us will know that I told you about it." Rian scolded him and I laughed.

"Alright I'll pretend to be surprised, but I still get to help plan the party." Alex said.

"No you don't. We want it to be as close to a surprise as possible." Zack said.

"Fine whatever. I'm going to take a shower." Alex grumbled. He grabbed my hand and took me to his room with him.

"Will you shower with me?" He asked as he pulled his shirt off in his room. I was so tempted to say yes because he looked so good, but I didn't feel like undressing.

"I already took a shower." I told him.

"Yeah but you didn't take one with me." He walked over and kissed me.

"No because if I get in with you neither of us are going to be able to keep our hands off each other." I giggled.

"Yeah that's true. I'll be out in a few." He kissed me again and went to his bathroom. I heard the water start then the shower door open and close.

I pulled out my phone to call May and ask her what she was doing this weekend. She picked up her phone after the third ring.

"Hey Jack." She answered.

"Hey, what are you doing?" I asked.

"Homework like always. What about you?"

"Oh I'm just with Kellin watching tv." I lied. "I was just calling to check on you. We haven't spoken in a while." I said and she chuckled.

"I came over like two days ago."

"Well yeah but we didn't talk all day yesterday. Were you busy with Matt?" I asked.

"Yeah he came over and we spent all night together." She said.

"Did he spend the night with you?"

"Maybe." She giggled and I grimaced.

"Don't you think you two are moving too fast?"

"I don't know. Does it seem like it?" She asked.

"Well yeah you're already sleeping with him and you're probably going to hang out with him this weekend too." I exaggerated trying to get information out of her.

"I didn't say we had sex." She said in a tone that suggested that they did have sex. "And we're not going to see each other this weekend. He's going to a friend's birthday party and I'm going to a friend’s birthday party. I was thinking about going with him though. You don't think it would be rude of me to skip out on my friend's party to go with him do you?"

"Yeah totally, that's really mean. Why would you skip your own friend's party to go celebrate a guy you don't know? You can meet Matt's friends some other time." I told her. I was really trying to talk her out of going.

"Yeah you're probably right. I shouldn't skip out on her party. I'll just tell Matt we can hang out Sunday night if he's not busy." She said and I silently cheered to myself.

"Awesome! Well I'm going to go. I'll talk to you later." I said.

"Um okay bye." She said and we hung up. I exhaled in relief and texted Kellin the good news.

I sat my phone down and noticed the shower water was off now. Alex walked into his room with just a towel around his waist. It was hard for me not to stare knowing what was under that towel.

"Should I even bother putting on clothes?" Alex joked when he caught me staring and I laughed.

"Shut up. I was just looking at your chest and wondering why it's so hairy."

"My chest isn't hairy! This is like the normal amount of hair guys get on their chest. It's weird that you don't grow any hair on your chest." He chuckled and I lifted my shirt.

"Yeah I don't know what's wrong with me. Given I wouldn't really like chest hair on me, but it's still weird that I don't grow any."

"Yeah, but I like it." Alex walked over to me and rubbed his hands on my chest.

"Get away from me." I said jokingly and put my shirt back down.

"Come on. I know you want me." He said seductively and my body temperature started to rise.

"Trust me, I do but I don't want to do anything sexual until your birthday. It'll make it worth more to you." I chuckled.

"Ugh but that's two days from now." He complained.

"You'll be okay. We had sex earlier today."

"Yeah but I want you now and I know you want me too." He told me and I took a deep breath. I wanted him so badly.

"Two more days." I repeated.

"Okaaay, but I don't want to hear any complaints about me being too rough."

"You won't hear a complaint from me!"

I know this chapter is a little short, but I thought you all would like one more calm chapter before...things start to happen.
