Jet Pack Blues

Tyler's POV

Seth was still asleep by the time it was lunch.
As much as I wanted to stay in bed all day I was really hungry and I wasn't feeling brave enough to go and see Alex on my own as in my eyes he was scary, with Jack around he's not but with no Jack it feels like he a completely different person but he wasn't.
It's just me being stupid or something.

I quietly got out of bed and went downstairs.
Rowan was babbling about something to Alex as he got them both some lunch.
"is that so?" he chuckled and turned round and saw me and smiled.
I smiled back and went to the table and sat furtherest away from him.
He chuckled.
"i don't bite you know, unless your Jack then maybe, but jokes aside you can talk to me if you want to." he said a d focused on Rowan.
"Don't." Alex said firmly to Rowan.
"So I'm guessing Seth is still asleep otherwise you wouldn't be down." he said and got up and looked at Rowan.
"Don't throw it on the floor." he said seriously and gave him a drink.
"i wanted to say thanks for letting me stay here." i said.
"You don't have to thank me." he said and put 2 really big sandwiches in front of me.
"one would of been enough." i said and looked at him.
"I know how much a teenage boy eats. Eat, you'll feel better for it." he said and went over to the kettle and put it on.
"i woukd off been happy with just a packet of crisps." i said and slowly begun to eat thw sandwich.
"by looking at you, you didn't get much too eat. I know what that leads too abd I'm not letting my kids or you follow in my footsteps. You'll thank me for it." he said.
Rowan threw his plate on the floor and the dog began its clean up.
"Rowan, you was meant to eat it not give it to Sam." he said and picked the plate up.
Rowan just laughed at him.
"Glad your finding it funny." Alex chuckled and ruffled his hair.
"Why you being like this. Some people's places I've crashed with before would just blank me or something." i said.
"I know you like Seth. He wouldn't forgive me if I threw you on the streets. Anyway you've been part of this mad family for nearly 10 years it's like having another kid which isn't actually mine." he said.
I looked down.
"Look, I know I'm probably the last person you want to hear this from but if I could turn back time there are things I woukd change, like making up with my mum. I know what your mum has done and said hurt you and its better if you stay away for a while, just so she can get her head back and you can have a break and think about things. Because in thw short term it seems like the best idea in thw world but in the long term it isn't." he said.
"How do you know?" i asked and looked at him.
"my mum threw me out, I said to he that I wanted nothing to do with her. Haven't seen or spoken too her since before Seth. That was only because she want to see if I was stl with Jack." he said.
"So she doesn't know about Riley, Aidan or Rowan?" i asked.
"Nope, they know very little about her. In their eyes she dead really and its the same in mine." he said.
I thought about it.
"if i do make up with her, I don't want to live with her. I want to stay here, you guys make me feel like I'm part of this madness, like I'm actually part of this family ." i said.
"in our eyes you are family." he smiled and went back to what he was doing.

Seth came down and I couldn't help but watch him.
Alex said something quietly in his ear but I couldn't hear as Rowan was babbling still.
"Christ boy do you ever shut up?" Seth chuckled abd got Rowan out his highchair and balanced him in his hip.
Rowan babbled in his ear.
He came over and sat next to me.
"since I slept the day away like Normal how about you me and this little man go and watch a good film." he said.
"Yeah!" Rowan said loudly and got of seth's lap and ran towards the sitting room.
"We'll watch decent films tonight in bed." he said quietly in my ear abd gently bit it.
I looked at him and he snirked.
Has he worked out that I liked him and now he's playing some sort of game with me.
If so I'm willing to play along with him.
