Why Don't We Just Runaway?

Chapter Three - Lost In Stereo

Photographs, selfies, sunset, loud music and smiles. Everything you should experience with your best friend.

"I've taken like two hundred pictures, and we're not even there yet." I laughed.
Erin turned down the music and looked at me.
"What?" She yelled.
"I said, I've taken two hundred pictures and we're barely there."

The sun was setting and I was glad that we had early entry for the concert, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to see anything.
"Well it's a good job we are now." She shouted, still deafened by the loud music.
The concert queue was long and stretched around three blocks. I jumped out of the car and stretched my legs.
"We're here." Erin yelled, as she copied my actions.
"We are!"
"Oh my god." She inhaled a sharp breath and held her hand to her mouth. "I'm seeing my favorite band in an hour."
I laughed at my best friend.
"Let's get in the line."

We slowly walked towards the box office doors and joined the queue that was forming to the left of it.
"I'm just really glad that-" She began to say but was interupted with a loud burst of singing.
"There's no such thing as a perfect crime, don't play that." The queue began to sing.
Erin began grinning as she joined in.
The wait outside felt like it was a lot longer than it was. But when the tour manager came outside to take everybody's names for the Early Entry, I was thankful that we were getting to go inside.

"Okay, so Jack's going to stand on the right, he's the lead guitarist and does some backing vocals." Erin informed me.
I mumbled a quiet 'yes, okay' and allowed her to continue.
"Alex will be in the middle, he's vocals and oh so dreamy."
I laughed.
"Zack is the macho-bassist. He can carry you so easy, and Rian, he's on drums at the back."
My attention got pulled away from Erin when I saw a person peeping from behind the curtain.
Everyone who was inside the room began to scream and the person quickly disappeared.
"Who was that? Did you see?" Erin asked me.
"Some guy with a tanned face and blonde in it."
"Jack. My baby Jack."
"Ah..."

The concert went by fast, and I was surprised by how many lyrics I knew. Erin kept me on track when I lost knowledge of which song was on, but I kept up relevently good.
The atmosphere was magical and the on-stage chat between Alex and Jack was hilarious.
As the ending song came to a close, the saddened hearts of teenagers and young adults around me became the only thing I could feel.

"'Cause I got your picture, I'm coming with you..." Alex sung passionately.
Jack leaped off from the stage and landed on the barrier in front of Erin and me. The smile on his face stretched from ear to ear, I couldn't help but smile up at him.
Erin screamed loudly as he held her hand. "Oh my god." She panted in astonishment.
I laughed and stuck my hand up. But my reaction was completely different when he grabbed mine.

"What a beautiful man." My hormones raged inside my body.
I let out an excited scream as he jumped down from the barrier and climbed back up for the outro of the song.
The emotions in the room were high as some people left in tears, while a few were left grinning and dripping with sweat. Other people were leaving with their arms around their friends , in pain. Meanwhile, Erin and me were leaving with dehydrated mouthes and rumbling stomaches.

"That was actually so amazing." I admitted, as we stood in the line for merch.
"Wasn't it? That moment when Jack kissed Alex, my ovaries exploded." Erin keeled over in pain, feigning what she felt at the moment she described.
I laughed and put my hand on my friend's back. "Calm down, dear." I consoled.
"Ae you into them yet?" She asked with pleading eyes.
I shrugged my shoulders and stepped forward in line.
"They were really good, and Jack is a real hottie." I confessed. "Maybe I'll buy their new album."
Erin sqealed and then grabbed both of my shoulders.
"Future Hearts. You're getting it. Tonight."
"Okay, okay."

We got to the merch table and Erin bought a grey Future Hearts tank-top, while I bought an average tour T-Shirt in extra large.
"I never understand why you buy large tee's." Erin muttered as we exited the arena.
"It's just because I love baggy." I answered.
Erin looked at me and rolled her eyes.
"Our hotel's about a mile away, it won't take us long to get there." She informed me.
I smiled at her and nodded.

We lived two hours away from where the concert was tonight, in a town just outside of Illinois, but with the traffic, we didn't fancy driving home, or at least she didn't.
"That's cool, we can get some food on the way there." I said as my stomach grumbled loudly.
Erin's car was parked just up the street and while we were talking about our favorite moments of tonight, I could hear someone's footsteps behind me.
"Stand aside, someone's following." I whispered quietly.

Erin followed me and stepped to the side of the sidewalk. Neither of us looked up as the person walked by, but it was hard to miss the familiar accented voice as he stopped in front of us and spoke.

"Glad you enjoyed tonight." He said with devilish smile and a mischevious wink.
