Jacks POV

I was sat alone with Alex and i was running my thumb along his knuckles.
"Please wake up. Please wake up." I whispered and sniffed.
I heard the door open and a nurse came in.
"Morning." She smiled a cheerful smile.
"Morning." I said quietly and just kept on looking at Alex.
"How are you feeling? I know it's a stupid question and everything because your clearly not fine." She said and started to sort Alex out.
"Feel dead in the inside." I said quietly.
"I'm sure he will be okay." She said quietly.
"I hope so." I whispered.
She looked at me and smiled.
"I'll be back later to cheek on him. I know it's hard and everything but just stay strong." She said quietly.
"I'm trying." I sniffed and she walked out the room.

Erics POV

Me and Fred left Jack alone with Alex.
"He never said he was suicidal." Fred said quietly.
I hummed in agreement.
"I mean he's happy. Alex was finally happy and it was all thanks to Jack. I don't understand why he did this." He said.
"You should know we never know what goes through his head. You know one minute he's okay and the next he could be hurting himself." I said.
"I just don't understand." He sighed and put his head in his hands.
I moved closer to him and pulled him to my side.
"He'll get better. He always does." I said quietly.
"But the doctors in England said if he OD again that's it there's nothing they could do for him." He sniffed.
I sighed because this was true.
"But he has Jack now and he wouldn't leave him." I said quietly.
"Do you think his parents are dead?" Fred asked and looked at me.
I nodded.
"How do you know?" He asked.
"It's a long story." I said.
Fred nodded and let it go.
"I'm going to try mum again." I said quietly.
He nodded and I got up and walked outside.

I rung mum and for once it actually rang.
"What Eric?" She snapped.
"Oh no Hi Eric how are you then?" I answered sarcasscily.
"Seriously Eric what the fuck do you want?" She asked.
"Just to let you know that Alex has tried to kill himself and he might of actually done that." I said.
"And I care because?" She asked.
"What part of Alex is in hospital because of a suicide attempt don't you understand?" I asked.
"I understand completely but what am I meant to do about it?" She asked.
"I don't know, come home and actually be here for us. Because we really fucking need you!" I said slowly losing it.
"Well I can't." She said.
"Why? What's so fucking important that you can't be here for your son who is on his fucking death bed! Why the fuck can't you be here!" I shouted and a load of people looked at me.
"I'm gone. I'm not coming back." She said.
"Your just disowning us?" I asked quietly.
"Yes. Now don't phone back." She said.
"But what are we meant to do!?I can't fucking cope mum. We need you!" I said desperately.
"Your all doing fine on your own. You can cope because you can do this. You don't need me." She said.
"We do need you." I whispered.
"Goodbye Eric." She said and hung up.
"Mum?" I whispered but I got no response.

"Eric?" Someone said behind me and I turned round and saw Jack.
"She's gone Jack. She's just left us." I said.
Jack walked over and pulled me into a hug.
"You'll be okay. We can manage without her." He said quietly.
"How?" I whispered.
Jack pulled back and looked at me.
"You sell your house and live in my house." He said.
"But we can't do that. It's your home." I said.
"It's not my home. It will never be my home unless I have you guys there." He said quietly and wiped some tears from my cheek.
"When did your parents die?" I asked.
"Last year. They was in a car accident." He said and looked down.
"I'm so sorry Jack." I said quietly.
"It's fine because I have you, Alex and Freddie. You guys are my family now and I wouldn't have it any other way." He smiled.
I smiled.
"Trust me, you are better without her." He said.
I nodded.
"Where's Fred?" I asked.
"With Alex. He sent me out looking for you." He said.
I nodded.
"You sure we can move in with you?" I asked.
"Yes! I pretty much moved into your house. If you sell your house then you'll have the money to do what you want to do." He said.
"But what about Alex meds bills? It's not going to be cheap." I said and ran my hand through my hair starting to panic about this.
"I have it covered." He smiled.
I looked at him.
"I'm not as poor as what people think." He chuckled.
I smiled.
"How can we ever repay you?" I asked.
"Just being in my life is enough payment for me." He said and walked off.
I smiled and went to see Alex and Fred.

I walked in and Fred was just watching Alex.
"Eric?" He asked.
"It is I." I said.
"She coming or not?" He asked quietly.
"She's never coming back Fred." I said quietly.
He looked at me.
"What do you mean she's not coming back?" He asked.
"We've been disowned. It's just us and Jack now." I said.
"What we going to do? We hardly have the money to pay for this. We have fucking nothing." He said and got up and walked over to me.
"We sell our place and move to Jacks." I said.
"But he never goes there. We can't do that Eric." He said.
"Look, we don't have the money live in the house we are in now. Jack has offered us to move to his place and sell our house so we can at least have some money." I said.
"What about the hospital bill? It's not like England where we get it for free. This is going to cost loads Eric." He said.
"Jack said he can pay for it." I said.
"But he can't, we have taken so much from him as it is. We can't have him paying for Alex's bill." He said.
"I offered and I'm paying for it. We are family now and family sticks together no matter what. You two should know this." Jack said as he walked over to us.
"But Jack.." Fred said.
"No buts Fred. I love Alex and I will do this." He said.
Fred gave up and nodded.
"Can't believe she's done this." Fred said quietly.
"Well she has so it's us now." I said.

Fred had fallen asleep with his head by Alex's hand.
"You sure you want us with you?" I asked Jack who was holding Alex's other hand.
He nodded.
"Yes. I don't want to be without you guys. You are literally my family now and I'm not going to let you sleep on the streets because you can't afford to live in a house." He said.
"Thank you Jack." I said quietly as I got comfy in this chair which was really uncomfortable.
"Anytime Eric." He said and I fell asleep.
