When Jack walked off to his class, I couldn’t help but let the blush overtake my cheeks. He basically told the whole school, in front of Ronnie, that him and I were together now. And the way that he said he would always be there for me made me want to just hug him and never let him go.

I entered my class, looking down at the ground, trying my best to hide my deep red cheeks from everyone in the room. Which, worked until I got to my seat. “So, I heard that Jack is actually gay and dating you, Alex?” Some girl by the name of Susan said from my left. “Is it true?” Wow, news travels fast. But, I kinda wanted to keep it on the downlow for now, seeing as Ronnie was already out to get me, and now he has a more reason for it as well. So, I just choose to ignore her, being glad when the teacher walked in and told us to stop talking.

In first class today, with Jack, I could tell he kept looking over at me from the other side of the room, trying his best to get a view of what was on my paper I was writing on. Even going as far to sit on his desk. Which was a thing he did basically everyday. But, I didn’t want him to see what I was writing just yet, because they were lyrics to a song. A song I titled A Daydream Away, and I wrote it about him. He gave me butterflies every time I see him, and I couldn’t help but let those feelings all out onto the page in front of me. “Mr. Gaskarth! Please, at least act like you are listening to my lesson. It’s not like you to daze off in class, is something wrong?” Mrs. Gill asked.

“Uh-um. Everything is perfectly fine. Mrs. Gill.” I managed to not stutter like I normally would have. Which surprised me, because I can’t speak in front of anyone, well, other than my parents and Jack now, without being a stuttering freak. Maybe Jack has helped me along the way, by teaching me that I can speak my mind like he does every once in awhile. Huh, what do ya know? Maybe he is better for me and than I am for him.

I took out my notebook, and actually let my mind drift away from the tall, skunk haired boy I get to finally call my boyfriend, and let today’s calculus plan overtake my thoughts. As much as I’m sure everyone in the whole world hated math, I loved it. Which is why I guess I’m a nerd. I mean, it’s not that anyone knew my love for math, the only person I talk to are teachers, Zack, and Rian. Who don’t even go to this school.

Speaking of Zack and Rian, I felt my phone go off in my pocket, and I quickly reached for it, taking it out and seeing a name flash on it with a new text, that person being Rian. I clicked on the view button and read what the words played out to be.

Rian:
Zack and I are going to your place after school. Make sure you are there. I mean, it’s nothing important, we just want to hang out.

I laughed a bit at my two best friends and replied back to him, telling him that I would be there, most likely with Jack. Which means, that would be the perfect time to tell Zack and him about Jack and I. As I put my phone back in my pocket, the bell rang and everyone started to pack up and leave the classroom. Causing me to do the same, reluctantly.

Once I was outside the room and about ten feet away from the room, I noticed that I was too busy reading the test Rian sent, that I for got to get tonights homework, so I turned around, only to run into someone. “I’m so sorry.” I spoke softly as I bent down and started to grab my books that I dropped. They didn’t take any notice in me, and just continued with their way down the hall.

Jack should be here in about seconds, to take me out on this secret lunch date. Well, that was until I got a text from him as I finished grabbing my books up.

Jack:
Mr. Michaels is keeping me back in class for a couple minutes. Meet me outside by my bike. See you soon cutie ;)

I laughed a bit and responded with a simple ‘okay’.

I started down the hallway, keeping my books and phone in hand as I looked down at it, only taking a few steps till I was pushed on the ground. I looked up and saw Ronnie and two other guys from the football team standing above me, making me mentally freak out. “Told you to watch your back, Gaskarth.” Ronnie spat at me. Causing me to physically shrink in fear. I closed my eyes as he got closer to me, only taking one forceful kick to the side of my head, for everything to go black. But, I could still hear voices, which scared me even more. “Grab his legs, let’s get him to my car.”
