Maybe I'm wrong
Won't you tell me if I'm coming on too strong
This heart of mine has been hurt before
This time I want to be sure.

I was quickly cleaning up my room and Rian was sitting on his bed just shaking his head as I was moving as fast as a tornado, desperate to clean up before Lisa got here. Rian was excited to meet her but I could tell he was also very uncertain because of how things ended up with Jack. He was worried about me because he cared about me which was really nice to have. I was humming as I made sure the room wasn’t utterly disgusting. Lisa wasn’t going to be here long but she would be here long enough for me to need to clean.

“Lex,” Rian spoke up.

“What,” I asked while folding my clothes.

“Aren’t you afraid of getting your heartbroken again? I mean you did start dating her like a week after you and Jack fell out.”

“And? She’s different. She really is.”

“You said the same about Jack before, you can swear she’s different but what do I do when you break up?”

“Rian, she’s the first girl I’ve ever fallen for. You don’t think that I constantly think she is going to cheat on me? I mean, things feel really different with her, I trust her to not break my heart but that doesn’t mean that I’m not afraid at all, I’m actually terrified. I just trust and hope that I mean as much to her as she does to me.”

He didn’t say anything and continued to type the paper he needed to have done by Monday morning. I heard my phone blip as I put the last pair of pants in the drawer. I saw a text from Lisa saying where she was parked. I grabbed my phone and my keys and began my walk to her. She wasn’t too far so she wouldn’t be waiting long, I just wanted to see her for as long as possible. I saw her car and she looked up and saw me. She ran over to me and hugged me tightly. I really did think I was falling in love with this girl, it was too soon to say it but I really did think that was true. I grabbed her bag and she took my empty hand in hers.

“How was your drive,” I asked.

“Uneventful which I guess is a good thing,” she said softly.

“I’m glad to hear that.”

“It’s beautiful here, why have you never told me that before?”

“Lis, I’ve mentioned how beautiful it is here before, you just never believed me.”

“Like it’s not in the middle of a city and wow, this is beautiful.”

“I know.”

I opened the door for her and she smiled softly before letting me lead her towards my dorm room. I opened the partially open door and put her bags on my bed. Rian looked up from his typing and didn’t really address either of us. This is just how he got when he was focused on what he was doing, he tended to stress about whatever he was working on. That’s just how he was as a person; he was always worried about the future.

“Rian, don’t be an asshole, say hi to Lisa,” I scolded.

“Hey Lisa,” he said not looking up.

“He’s not an asshole all the time, he’s just writing an essay,” I told Lisa.

“Hi Rian, good to meet you,” she said happily.

I grabbed her hand and pulled her with me, we were going to go walking around downtown and look at a lot of the shops. I know she would like to see the smaller town vibe and be able to just see what it’s like to be here as opposed to a larger city. The only things open at night here were the bars and that was just something that you got used to.

I had gotten used to how her hand felt in mine, it was a feeling that I could get used to and it was something I wanted to get used to. I couldn’t help but look down at her and how beautiful she was. I never wanted to let her go and I was never going to let her go. I wanted her to be with me forever and as long as she was with me forever wasn’t that scary.

Sorry for the hiatus on this, I kind of needed to be in a place where I could write it again so I hope this was worth the wait. Seriously though I love Alex and Lisa together, they are just goals.
