A Rock to My Star

Red Wrath

"Krys," Hailey sighed, her voice kinda irritated from me being so stubborn, "you need to do this. Cory isn't right for you, and if you stay any longer, he'll fucking kill you! I understand you're hesitant with the whole 'staying with All Time Low' thing, but Krys, they're willing to take you in and care for you! I mean, come on, Alex is your hero for Christ's sake!"

"I know that, okay?" I huffed. "I get that. But, Cory will kill me if I do leave, Hailey. I won't win either way. If I stay, it would end so much better than leaving without a trace."

"Who says you'd leave without a trace? You would leave a note for him, so he would have something! He'd know why you'd leave! I don't think he'd try anything on you if you leave a note explaining why you left." I didn't know how to feel about that plan. I mean, yeah, I'd be leaving something for him to read and understand why I left, but the entire fact thatI'm leavingwould be the death of me. Cory would never want me to go; I'm his pride in joy -- in his own special way, of course. Me being gone would set him off to new levels, and who knows what he would do when he reaches that peak of anger. Then again, staying away from him for a while did sound nice... I'd be able to breathe for a while, be able to sleep at night, and even get to have a night without forced and rough sex with him. Taking in a deep breath, I replied,

"Fine... I'll do it. I'll text Alex the address he asked for, and I'll write the note. I'll call you when I'm settled with them again, okay?"

"Great!" I could hear the happiness in her voice; she really did want me safe and protected. "No, you call me tomorrow after you get some rest. You deserve a night of relaxation and peaceful sleeping. Just call me tomorrow, okay? I love you, sugar-butt." Of course, she used her nickname for me when we met back in first grade. I couldn't help but let out a short giggle.

"I love you, too, cubby." Without another word, I hung up the phone. I walked over to the counter and pulled out a memo pad and a pen. Sighing, I began to jot down the note for Cory.

Dear Cory,

I hope you understand what I'm about to tell you. Sweetie, I love you a lot, believe me, but I do not believe this relationship is working out anymore. I think that it is time for me to move on, in life, on my way own for a while. I think that it is the best for, not just me, but for the both of us. Do not think lowly of yourself after reading this, please. I just want this for us, so we don't ruin, not only our relationship, but our previous friendship. Maybe one day we can go back to the way we used to be, but right now, I don't think we can be together anymore.

I am going to live my parents for a while, if that's alright. I think that it would be best to be with them instead of Hailey or any other friend. I will come see you once in a while if I'm up to it, but other than that, please... do not come looking for me there. Again, I love you, Cory. Do not take this wrong way; I really hope you understand why I'm doing this.

Sincerely,
Krys

I placed the note on the table with the pen on top of it so the ceiling wouldn't blow it away. I looked at it with tears rimming my eyes. I couldn't believe I was actually doing this; I, Krys Kean, was leaving Cory, my abusive, awful boyfriend. I turned on my heel to go upstairs and pack up my bags. While I packed, I made sure to text Alex my address. I knew he would be splendid to hear I was leaving, but I knew, inside, I was petrified and horrified to leave.

The ride to the bus was long. We were in hour two of four, and it was 8:23. I knew Cory had to be home or on his way home from work by now. The thought made me begin to tremble a bit. Soon, or already, he would see the letter I made up for him, and he'd either begin his awful wrath to kill anything in his path until he found me, or he would completely understand and let me be. I knew the first option would probably roll out better than the second one because I mean, come on, we're talking about Cory here. A burnt piece on his french fry turns him into the fucking Incredible Hulk.

Since Alex was sleeping from under me, along with Matt, Rian, and Zack, Jack and I were the only ones up. I guess he could tell I was tensed up and shaking because he tapped my shoulder which snapped me from my gaze. "Hey," he cooed, "everything okay?" I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat.

"Y-Yeah, I'm alright. Just, this whole scenario is really bothering me. He's so violent, and I know this won't end well. I know what Alex is doing, and I appreciate it so much, but I just don't think this is a good idea." While I spoke, I looked down at the slumbering male from under me, and it made me frown knowing his good heart would probably have me end up in deep trouble.

"I understand, Krys. Believe me, I do, but Alex really wants to do this for you. And, the band and your friend think this is the best for you, too. If it were up to me, honestly, I'd give you the choice to stay with him or with us. But, it's not, and you got to understand how kind-hearted Alex is. He wants the best for you. I promise, you'll be safe with us. He has so much planned for you to be taken care of." I nodded at Jack's words. I rested my head against the back of the car's seat, cupping my hands on my lap.

"Well, I just hope it's enough to keep me safe from Cory."

CORY'S POV

My shift was done at eight, and I knew that, once I got home, I would give Krys her turn. I would rock her world, lemme tell you. I drove home as quickly as I could, so I wouldn't keep her waiting. When I opened the door to my home, I heard dead silence. No one was downstairs, so I assumed Krys may have been upstairs. "Krys," I called out as I threw my shoes and apron to the side, "I'm home!" No response. I just shrugged it off; maybe she was asleep?

I walked into the kitchen and was about to grab something to eat when I noticed a piece of paper and pen on the table. It looked like a letter. I picked it up and began to read it. It was from Krys, and the words that were scratched on the paper were enough to make my blood boil and eyes widen. She left me? Are you fucking serious? Hours again, she had my dick down her throat, and now, she was gone again.

I couldn't believe this; this was total bullshit. I tore the letter to shreds, threw it to the ground, and ran upstairs into our shared room. Clothes were flown everywhere, and her bags were gone. Now, my body was shaking from the fury. I ran downstairs, once again, and retrieved the gun that was beside the couch. I loaded it up and held it tightly in my palm. "When I fucking find this bitch," I growled, "she's mine and dead."

@Nanook
It was a co-written story, but my co-writer wasn't feeling the story anymore, and nor was I, so I kinda had to just get it over with. But thank you for the lovely comment! :)
