Jack

I slowly opened my eyes, but quickly shut them again as I tried to adjust to the bright light that was above me. I heard the sounds of steady beeping, which confused me. Last thing I remembered was turning to drive to the ice cream shop with Mi-. Oh no. Miracle. I shot up and looked around. I noticed I was in a hospital room, but where the fuck was my daughter at?

I saw one of my arms were in a sling, and had a cast on it. Great. Just what a fucking auto shop owner needs. How did I even end up here? That’s when it hit me like no tomorrow. Miracle asked to go and get ice cream, so I was turning and that’s when someone hit us, making the car roll over. Oh no, my baby.

I ripped the IV from my arm and got of the bed, I felt a sharp pain in my sides, telling me that I had a few broken ribs. As it a broken fucking arm wasn’t bad enough. The monitors started making loud beeping noise. Which got the attention of nearby Doctor’s as they ran into the room. I stormed passed them and out of the room I was in.

“Miracle!” I shouted. “Where the fuck is my daughter!?” I screamed at one of the Doctor’s who were trying to get me back in the room. “Let go of me dammit! I Want my daughter!”

“Jack!” I heard someone shout. I looked down the hall and saw Alex running down, being quickly followed by Cass, Rian, and Zack. I shook the Doctor’s off of me and started walking the way they were coming. I would run, but I don’t think my body would allow that anytime soon.

They reached me and Alex basically threw himself into my one open arm. He held onto me tightly which made my groan out in pain. He pulled away and looked at me with hurt in his eyes. “It’s not your fault, babe. I think I have a few broken ribs is all.” I placed a kiss on his forehead and put my arm around his shoulders and brought him close to me.

“Sir, you need to get back in your room.” A male nurse said from behind me. I let go of Alex and turned to the guy.

“Fuck you.” I said bluntly. I then turned to the four people on my other side, who were basically my family now. “Do you guys know where Miracle is?”

“She’s somewhere in the hospital.” Alex said softly as a tear ran down his cheek.

“Do you know what’s wrong with her?” I asked as panic set in.

“Before we tell you anything, you need to calm down.” Zack said as he put his hand on my shoulder. I took a deep breath and nodded my head.

“Miracle is in a coma, Jack.” Cass said softly. Right then and there it felt like I was just hit with a brick wall. Did I just hear right? My baby girl was in a coma? I shook Zack’s hand off of me and turned around to the nurses that were standing behind us. They looked a bit scared, because let’s be honest, I was a scary fucking person when I was mad.

“Take to to my daughter right now.” I growled.

“Sir, we can’t do that.” A nurse said calmly. The calmness was what sent me over the edge even more. I approached all of them, towering over them.

“I said, take me to my fucking daughter!” I shouted.

“Sir-” The male nurse was cut off.

“You three may leave. I’ll take care of this.” A Doctor said from next to them, the nurses nodded their heads and walked off. “I’m Dr. Simms, I am the Doctor who is taking care of both you and your daughter.” She spoke to me. “If you all would like to follow me, I’ll take you to where she is.” I sighed and nodded my head.

We walked down many different halls till we finally reached the children’s ward. We took a left turn and entered the children’s ICU, which made my stomach churn. We walked down the hall till we reached the very end, the Doctor opened the door and lead all of us in. I was the first one in, and what I saw made me break down in tears.

Miracle was hooked up to many different monitors, and they were all beeping. I looked at the heart monitor and saw it was going very slow. I walked over to her bed and got down on my knees next to it. “I’m so sorry this happened to you baby girl. This is all my fault.” I said through my tears. My baby was in a coma. And it was all my fault.
