I drove and drove. This was a long shot going to D.C, but it was a chance I was willing to take. What he wasn’t there? What if someone really did take him? I’d kill someone, even if they only touched a hair on his pretty little head. I didn’t really want to get the police and news involved, I thought I could find him on my own. I failed. I failed him and our family.

I was driving along the road, looking for any sign of the man I loved. But came up short. I didn’t see anything that would give me any clue as to where he went. Maybe coming he was just a waste of time. And as on cue, Miracle started crying in the backseat.

“What’s wrong, babygirl?” I asked as I looked at her thru the mirror. That’s when a smell made it’s way into the air. “That’s what’s wrong.” I chuckled a bit as I pulled over into a parking lot of what looks like a diner, right next to a run down Motel. I got out of the car, opening the back seat car door and undid Miracle’s car seat. Setting out a little blanket on the seat before I set her down on it and reached for the diaper bag to change her.

I finished changing her and also put her in a different outfit, seeing as it was getting chilly outside, and I didn’t want her to be cold. I was also getting kinda hungry, and I knew she would be soon as well. I grabbed the diaper bag and put it over my shoulder and lifted her up. “Come on, sweetheart. After we get seated in the diner I will make you a bottle.”

I shut the car door and looked up my car, soon heading in the direction of the diner entrance. Once we were inside, I walked over to a table and was meeted by a waiter. “Hello sir. Here is a menu, would you like anything to drink?” She spoke with a smile. I set Miracle on my knee and bounced her up and down a bit as I spoke.

“Just a water, please.”

“Alright. I’ll bring that right over, and will be back to take your order.” I thanked her and she walked away. I reached inside Miracle’s diaper bag and pulled out a pre made bottle, thankful I made one when I made the pitstop to get gas on the way here.

“Here you go Miri.” I said to her as I laid her down in my arm and put the bottle to her mouth. She started eating and holding the bottle on her own, so I took this chance to look over the menu to look for food for myself. I only wanted something small, that way I can finish faster and get back out there to find the love of my life.

“Alright, here if your water. And have you picked what you wanted to order yet?” The waiter said as she came back. She didn’t look very much older than me, maybe by two or three years.

“Uh thanks and yeah. Can I just get a cheeseburger and some fries?”

“Sure thing. Oh, also your daughter is really adorable. Is the Mother around?” She spoke with a smile.

“Thank you, and no. She doesn’t have a Mother.” I answered.

“I am so sorry to hear that. Would you think she would want a Mother anytime soon?” She smirked at me. Yep, she was trying to hit on me.

“Uh, what I meant was, she doesn’t have a Mother. But, she does have two Father’s. I’m gay ma’am.” That’s when realization hit her and she turned to a mess.

“Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. I’ll just place the order for your food.” She turned around quickly and order to the kitchen to place my order. I chuckled looked down at Miracle.

“Have I ever told you how much of a stud I was?” I questioned her as I chuckled again. She basically ignored me and continued to eat from her bottle. I heard the bell over the door sound, saying someone has entered the diner. Out of habit of always wanting to know who was around, I looked up. And was surprised to be met by a pair of chocolate-brown eyes staring straight at me with a shocked look on their face.
