Alex’s POV

It’s been a week since me and Jack have been on the run and so far Jack is coping well but I know his mind is somewhere else, properly thinking about Kyle.
I left Jack down a alleyway while I got some food and drink for us and I noticed a poster saying that there’s a hanging going which was strange as it’s been years since a hanging has happened in the town.
I looked at the poster once I pushed my way through the crowd.
It was a picture of Kyle.
“Oh shit.” I whispered to myself and pushed my way back through the crowed and headed to the alleyway.

“Jack, it’s me.” I said and Jack came out of hiding from behind the bin.
“You got food?” Jack asked and I nodded as Jack walked over to me and took my bag off me and looked through it for food and a drink.
“I know why Kyle hasn’t called Jack.” I said and Jack stopped and looked at me.
“Why? What do you know Alex?” Jack asked as I pulled a poster I found on the floor out of my pocket and handed it to Jack.
“Their hanging him? But nobody has been hanged since my dad was our age.” Jack said as he looked at me.
I shrugged my shoulders because even I didn’t have a clue what was going on.
“They can’t kill him Lex, yeah he’s done bad stuff but he’s not a bad person.” Jack said quietly and I caught hold of his hand which made Jack look at me.
“The main thing here is that we know he is a good person and we should remember him as that good person. We know the real Kyle, those fuckers don’t know nothing.” I said quietly and Jack shook his head.
“We can stop them.” Jack whispered and I shook my head.
“Once they’ve made their mind up, there’s nothing we can do.” I said quietly and I saw some tears rolled down Jack cheek and I pulled him into my chest and held him close to me as he cried.
After a couple of minutes Jack pulled back and looked at me.
“You know where sir lives don’t you.” Jack said and I nodded.
“Yeah, he lives a couple of blocks down south.” I said and Jack sighed.
“Let’s eat first and then we can go to his.” I said and Jack nodded and we sat down and ate this meal deal which was like 3 dollars for a sandwich, drink and crisps.
After we had eaten we went to sirs house.

We was stood at sir house and we knocked on the door and we looked behind us to make sure nobody was following us.
“What if they have him as well? This could be a trap.” I said quietly.
“Sir is too clever to get caught.” Jack said and banged on the door getting frustrated.
“Hey, don’t go coursing a scene. That’s the last fucking thing we need is for the neighbors to call the cops.” I said and put my hand on top of Jacks.
Jack looked at me and I was about to say we had to leave when the door opened and Sir was standing there.
“You going to let us in?” Jack asked bluntly and Sir nodded and moved out the way and we went inside.
“I thought you two was dead.” Sir said and I studied him a little.
“Well surprise mother fucker we’re not dead. But Kyle will be by the end of day.” Jack spat and I looked at him and Jack backed down a little.
“I thought he was with you 2.” Sir said sounding a bit shocked.
“Well he isn’t and now they have him and they are hanging him tonight.” I said and I walked over to the fruit bowl and helped myself to an apple.
“Shit. Shit fuck!” Sir said and as he sat down and Jack looked at me.
I walked over to Jack and stood next to him.
“I believe he didn’t have anything to do with Kyles capture.” I whispered and Jack looked at me.
“I’m sorry, do you two need anything? Like a shower or catch up on some sleep as you both look like shit.” Sir said and I looked at Jack.
“I really need sleep and a shower, I don’t know about you.” Jack said and I nodded.
“Can we stay until this evening and then we’ll be on our way.” I said and Sir nodded.
“Of course, the bedroom is the first door on your left and there is a en suite as well.” Sir said and I smiled.
“Thank you.” I said as I caught hold of Jacks hand and we walked to the bedroom.

“I don’t trust him.” Jack said as he took his clothes and and joined me in the shower.
“I know and I don’t trust him either but right now we need to rest.” I said as I turned round to face Jack.
“Do you think he actually knew Kyle was going to be hanged?” Jack asked quietly and I shrugged my shoulders.
“Who knows but his reaction is telling me he didn’t know what happened to Kyle.” I said softly and Jack sighed.
I lent up and kissed him which Jack returned.
Jack picked me up and walked towards the wall until my back was too it.
“We shouldn’t.” Jack said and I looked at him and kissed him hard.
“But we’re going to.” I whispered as Jack put me down and I turned round to face and wall as Jack went to his knees and started to rimming me.
After we had done we crawled onto the bed and just collapsed and passed not not even caring that we was both naked and forgetting to pull the covers over our naked bodies.

“Thank you for letting us stay and have a shower.” Jack said and Sir smiled as he nodded.
“Just look after each other and stay safe.” Sir said and I smiled.
“We will, take care.” I said and me and Jack walked towards the town since Jack wanted to see the hanging even if I advised him it wasn’t a good idea.
We was stood in the crowd with our hoods up and hoped that nobody would recognize us.
“This is a bad idea Jack.” I said quietly and Jack looked at me.
“I need to see him one last time.” Jack said and I smiled at him and squeezed his hand for silent support.
“Okay but as soon as you see him we need to leave, there are people here who could recognize us.” I said quietly and Jack nodded.

It took a while but soon there was 4 people walked out with hoods over the their faces and I looked at Jack and he moved closer but I pulled him back which made him look at me.
“We can’t risk going any closer, they could call us out and then we would be joining them.” I said quietly and Jack sighed as he nodded and stood closer to me.
Once they was stood on the drop scaffolding which was when they pulled the hoods off and I recognized Kyle but none of the other 3 and I looked at Jack and he recognized them.
“After this we need to leave the town.” Jack whispered and I nodded and turned back to watch what was happening.
They put the loose over their necks and then read out their crimes.
I wasn’t really listening to them until they got to Kyle.
“Charged for plotting against the leader Peter Gaskarth. The death of Alexander Gaskarth and for the deaths of hundreds of people.” This person said and the list went on and I looked at Jack who looked at me.
“We need to leave.” I said quietly and Jack shook his head.
“Not yet.” He whispered and looked back to Kyle.
Kyle looked out to the crowd and he literally locked eyes with me and Jack and nodded just as the lever was pulled and he dropped.
“We need to go.” I said and Jack nodded and I pulled him away as we made our way through the crowd who was cheering.

Once we was away from the crowded area we stopped and I looked at Jack.
“We need to leave the country.” Jack said and I nodded.
“Have you still got the fake IDs?” Jack said and I nodded again.
“Yes I’ve still got them.” I said quietly and Jack smiled.
“And you still have your phone?” Jack asked and I nodded.
“I’ll book us a ticket.” I said and Jack smiled.
“Where was you thinking?” I asked as I looked for my phone and got up this app I downloaded just for this reason.
“I Don’t know. Where would you like to settle down at.” Jack said and I looked at him confused on what he was on about.
“We can’t life this live for ever Lex. I have no fight in my anymore to keep on doing this. We’ve already lost Kyle and Sir doesn’t care about us, this is our time to get out of here before the pay notice that we are still alive and come after us.” Jack said and I smiled.
“And I want to settle down with you. I want a fresh start and maybe even go to college and be a normal teenage boy. Who knows maybe after this and we settled we could start a family.” Jack said and I couldn’t help but feel excited for our future.
“I like that plan.” I said quietly.

“So where we going to run too?” I asked and we looked for the cheapest and soonest flights we could find.
