Alex’s POV

It’s been a month since the explosion and Jack has only been awake for the last week which I was really happy with but Jack had to stay in hospital for a couple of weeks to make sure that he was going to be okay.

I walked into Jack’s room with some flowers and Jack smiled as I lent over and kissed him which Jack returned.
“For you.” I said as I gave Jack his flowers and Jack smiled as he smelt them.
“Their lovely, thank you.” Jack said as he pulled me forward and kissed me again which I returned and when Jack pulled back he gave me the flowers so I could replace them from the last lot I gave Jack.
Once I do that I sat on the bed and looked at Jack.
“The doctor said that I’m making good progress and he reckons that by the end of the week I’ll be out of here.” Jack said happily and I couldn’t help but smile with him as I’ve been pretty much living at the hospital beside Jack making sure he wasn’t going to die on me.
“That excellent babe.” I said as Jack frowned at me.
“What’s the matter? You’ve been funny with me since I woke up. You didn’t sleep with anyone else did you?” Jack said seriously and I looked at him feeling hurt that he would think of something like that.
“I haven’t cheated on you, I’ve been fucking beside you since you got into this fucking place! Why the fuck would you even think that? Do you honestly think that little off me that you think I would cheat on you!” I said loudly as I got off the bed and looked at Jack hard which made him look down.
“Then why are you acting strange? Thought you would be happy that I was awake.” Jack said as he messed with the bed covers.
“I am happy that you are awake, Christ I am more than happy that you are awake. This last month has been hard. I’m not blaming you for it but I don’t know how to say it.” I said as I sat at the end of the bed and looked down feeling confused from all these emotions I have been feeling over the last month.
I felt Jack move so he was sat beside me and he pulled me to his side and he kissed the top of my head.
“You can say how you feel Lex, you don’t have to bottle it all up.” Jack said quietly which made me sigh loudly.
“Okay maybe not here because you never know who is listening but when I get home, will you talk to me? I won’t say nothing to anyone and you know I won’t Lex.” Jack said and I looked at him and nodded.
“Good.” Jack said softly as he lent forward and kissed me which I returned.

Jack was allowed home earlier than what the doctor said since Jack has pretty much heeled and he wanted Jack to see a therapist once a week which Jack declined as he felt like he didn’t need it.

“Come on, Talk to me.” Jack said as he rolled onto his side and sat up slightly rested his head on his hand as he looked at me.
“Can’t I catch my breath first?” I asked as I looked at him since we literally just had sex and I just needed to get my thoughts.
“You can, But you are opening up to me. I don’t want to deal with you being the person you are at the tunnel. I want my Alex.” Jack said and I smiled at him as Jack moved and cuddled into my side and I started to mess with his hair.
“I’m not that bad.” I said and Jack looked at me.
“Lex, don’t take this to heart but you are like a fucking crazy person. I have never seen you be so hot headed, I know you are hot headed but not like what you are now and being honest here Alex it’s scares me.” Jack said and I looked away from him but Jack put a hand to my face and gently made me look at him.
“I love you Lex, you know I love you but this is a side of you that I don’t know and I can’t trust. Not because you’ll go off and cheat on me but because I feel like I can’t say anything to you and you won’t blow up about it which could lead you to hitting me which I know you’ll never do but this person you have become since what happened, I don’t like this Alex.” Jack said softly and I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and I opened my eyes again and looked at Jack who was still looking at me and it felt like he was looking into my soul but I stayed quiet.
“Babe, Talk to me please. You know I don’t beg but I am begging you right now to talk to me.” Jack said as he moved and sat on me.
“Don’t shut me out like you have done with everyone else. Don’t build a wall between me and you because I don’t want that Lex. I don’t want that wall between us. I am here for you and I will not walk away from you. Please Alex just talk to me, please.” Jack begged which meant he was serious about me opening up to him because he never begged, only when it comes to sex but I don’t really count that.
I sighed again and looked at Jack.
“I thought you was going to die Jack.” I said quietly and Jack looked at me and he bent down and kissed me hard which I returned which lead to us making out and having sex again.

I left Jack asleep on the bed, since Kyle has pretty much moved in with Sir so we moved to the bed which was a lot bigger than the bloody mattress we had, and I went and sat outside and enjoyed the winter sun on my face as I had a cigarette and got lost in my thoughts.
I heard the back door open and shut which made me look and I saw Jack looking at me as he put his jumper on and he walked over to me and sat on my lap and he rested his head on my shoulder as we both looked out to the garden which lead to the woods.
“When the explosion happened I thought you was right behind me. But when I turned round you wasn’t there, I didn’t know where you was.” I said quietly and Jack sat up and he looked at me.
“I thought I had lost my boyfriend and my best friend.” I whispered and I felt Jack wipe something away which made me jump and look at him.
“It was just a tear.” Jack whispered and I smiled as I looked down again.
“I was so scared that I had lost you Jack that I built this wall around me and I don’t know what to do to knock it down.” I sniffed as I looked at Jack and he knew how I felt about all this without me speaking as I would rarely cry about anything.
Jack lent forward and kissed me.
“Me giving you a lot of love will help. You talking to me will help. One step at a time baby and we’ll get through this.” Jack said and he kissed me again when someone cleared their throat which made us both look up.
“You’re both needed at the tunnels.” Kyle said and he just walked indoors and I looked at Jack who looked at me as he got off me and helped me up and we went to the tunnels.

We got to the tunnel and we walked into the meeting room and everyone stopped what they was doing and just looked at Jack which made him uneasy and I was already on the edge.
“Jack, so lovely to see you again.” Zack said and Jack noticed the distance he was giving me.
“It’s good to be back.” Jack said and I noticed sir watching and when he saw me he indicated that he wanted to talk to me so I walked towards him leaving Jack to catch up with everyone.

Once I reached Sir, I turned round and kept a close eye on Jack.
“He well enough to get back into work?” Sir asked seriously.
“Hard to tell, I wouldn’t push him too much as we don’t know what is going through his mind.” I said quietly.
“Did the doctor offer Jack any therapy?” Sir asked.
“They did, But Jack turnt it down and said that he was fine and he didn’t need it.” I said and frowned when I noticed something nobody clearly didn’t notice.
“He flinched.” Sir said quietly.
“If he does come back you are not to push him. Keep him on light duties until he is ready and that is when he can get back into it.” I said.
“Are you ready to get back into work?” Sir asked and I looked at him.
“I’m ready, have been since the explosion.” I said and Sir frowned at me.
“But I know that you are not ready because you wouldn’t think twice on killing someone.” Sir said.
“But that’s Alex through and through. He’s just a bit more touchy these days.” Jack said and we both looked at him.
“I’m ready to come back. Like Alex said I just need to be on light duties as I have no idea how I would be if I was to be dealing with blowing something up.” Jack said.
“Okay, but you and Alex are on light duties. I don’t want you killing the wrong person and I don’t want you to freak out about something. So you’ll both stay in the tunnels and work out a plan on how to get the people back.” Sir said as he looked between me and Jack.
“Come on I want to kill some people.” I said and I got glared at by Jack.
“No.” Sir said seriously which meant I wasn’t allowed to challenge him and he walked off and I groaned loudly and walked back over to Jack.
“Just think of what we can do while their all away.” Jack whispered in my ear and I looked at him and smirked.
“As much as I like sex, killing people is more fun.” I said and walked off and stood round the other side of the table and looked at Jack and smirked at him.

“Don’t be so stupid, you really think that’s a good way of getting them back for what they did? Pfffft you are fucking stupid like why are you even here if you out stupid ideas on the table.” Alex said bluntly to Frank as it was just us 3 in the tunnel while the other was doing something.
“Like to see you come up with something then.” Frank said and I rolled my eyes as I heard something which wasn’t normal.
Jack looked at me and I looked at him.
“We need to go now.” I said as I quickly picked everything what had up and stuffed it in my bag while Jack did the same and Frank was clueless.
“What’s going on?” Frank asked and I looked at him.
“Give me your gun.” I said seriously and Frank frowned at me.
“Give him the fucking gun Frank and run.” Jack growled and Frank handed me his gun and he ran but he ran the wrong way which made me look at Jack.
“We need to leave now Alex.” Jack said quickly as he looked at me and we heard guns being shot.
Jack caught hold of my hand and we ran towards the back of the tunnels and ran out to the woods.

Once we knew we was safe we stopped running to catch our breaths.
“What the fucking hell happened?” I panted as I looked at him.
“We’ve been busted.” Jack panted as he pulled his phone out.
“Whatever you do don’t go to the tunnel. There’s a snitch in the ranks.” Jack said coldly and hung up and looked at me.
“What are we going to do?” I asked feeling like I could have a meltdown.
“We hide. Follow me, I know where the safe house is.” Jack said and we walked off a little way and he stopped and turned round and looked at me once he noticed I was t following him.
“Babe we need to get out of here, we’re not safe anymore.” Jack said as he walked over to me and cupped my face in his hands.
“I never thought this would happen.” I whispered and Jack smiled and he kissed my forehead.
“Neither did I, but it has happened and now we need to keep ourselves safe and we can only do that by going to the safe house.” Jack said and I nodded while I caught hold of Jack’s hand and we walked further into the woods.

It was late when we got to the safe house and it was in darkness.
“Why are we the only ones here?” I asked as Jack looked for the key and when he found it he unlocked the door and waited for me to walk in first and he followed behind me locking the door behind us.
“Because we are the next lot of people they will be after.” Jack said as he looked round the house and I took to looking around upstairs and it was clear so I went downstairs where Jack was looking in the cupboards.
“Are we going to be on the run now aren’t we?” I asked as I stood next to him.
“It’s all part of the plan. If we stick to the plan then we will be okay.” Jack said and he shut the cupboard door.
“Jack something is wrong. I can feel something is wrong.” I said and Jack looked at me and smiled softly.
“I feel it as well. But it’s not about us this feeling is about.” Jack said quietly.
Jack pulled his phone out and looked at it.
“I haven’t heard from Kyle. We said he would contact me first if we ever got spilt up like this.” Jack said and I put my hand on top of his.
“I’m sure he is going to be okay. He’s got Sir too look after him.” I said and Jack shook his head.
“Sir would rather throw Kyle under the bus than look after him and save his sorry ass.” Jack spat and he walked off and I just watched him and I sighed and followed him.
“What’s the plan?” I asked seriously and Jack looked at me from the sofa.
“Can’t I just rest?” Jack asked and I frowned at him as he already knew the answer.
“There’s fake ID under the kitchen floor board. We need to try and get out of the city before they clock on where we are.” Jack said and I nodded as I walked to the kitchen and felt around the floor boards when I found the loose one I lifted it up and found the fake ID and I put them in my bag and I got up and walked back into the sitting room.
“We need money, surely there’s money somewhere in here.” I said and Jack nodded as he stood up and thought about something and then he walked out the room and a couple of minutes he came back with a envelope.
“There’s 9000 dollars here. There’s more money around the house but I don’t want to take it Incase the others need it.” Jack said.
“We need more than 9000. If we have to leave the state or even the country then we need more money.” I said thinking hard.
“I have a bank account which I set up before I left Peters under a different name. I have about 8000 in that.” I said and Jack nodded.
“We use this first then we can use your money as an emergency.” Jack said and I nodded agreeing to this.
“We need to change and rest tomorrow we need to get out of here.” Jack said and I shook my head.
“Change yes, rest we can’t do that Jack.” I said and Jack sighed.
“I need to know if Kyle is okay first.” Jack said and I walked over to him and caught hold of his hand.
“This is going to sound mean of me, but right now Kyle shouldn’t be your main focus. Me and you are our focus we need to focus on not getting ourselves killed or separated. We need our focus. Kyle can look after himself and he knows to keep his head down.” I said and Jack looked at me.
“How can you say something like that?” Jack whispered.
“It isn’t easy to say it Jack, but it’s all about survival now and while you are worried about Kyle you haven’t got the focus on looking out for us. We need 100% of our focus.” I said and cupped Jack’s face.
“I support you and love you okay. It’s going to be me and you against the world now babe. I can’t do this without beside me.” I whispered and Jack smiled as he turned his head and kissed my hand.
“I love you too.” Jack whispered which made me smile.

“We need to change and we need to get out of here.” I said and Jack nodded as he caught hold of my hand and we went upstairs to change quickly and we headed out to the night.
