Noughts and Crosses

Jack’s POV

I heard the back door open and shut so I made my way to the kitchen where I saw Alex taking his shoes off.
“Where the fuck have you been?” I asked which made Alex jump as he looked at me looking like he was about to grab his gun.
“Went to check on a few things.” Alex said still keeping whatever he had planned hidden away from everyone.
“Like what?” I asked trying to get some information out of Alex but it wasn’t really working well.
“That doesn’t concern you.” Alex said seriously meaning there was something ticking inside of his head but he wasn’t about to share it with me.
“Yes It does Alex, you live under this roof so you will say what is happening before the fucking police come round and knocking on the front door.” I said seriously and grabbed hold of Alex’s arm as he went to walk past me.
“Well that won’t happen because nobody saw me, now let me go so I can have a shower because I stink and need a shower.” Alex said and I let him go and I watched him walk off and Kyle walking into the kitchen.
“Christ I’m dating an idiotic twat.” I said and Kyle frowned at me.
“Have you just learnt that?” Kyle asked as he made himself something to drink and I just looked at him.
“Only saying, you know since he’s getting more and more secretive these days.” Kyle said and I sighed and stood next to him.
“Alex wouldn’t cheat on me. He’s busy planning something and I don’t know what because he has built a fucking wall around him that even I can’t get through.” I said and Kyle chuckled.
“Glad your finding this entertaining.” I said sarcastically as I walked off and went upstairs.

I walked into the bathroom where Alex was having a shower.
“Alex we need to talk about whatever you have planned inside your head.” I said and Alex turned round and looked at me.
“I have nothing planned.” Alex said as he washed his hair and I just ignored what he was trying to do.
“Bullshit Alex and you know it.” I said slowly losing the will to live at the moment.
“Okay, because you’re clearly pissed off with me right now I’ll speak.” Alex said as he turned back round again and I moved and sat on the toilet.
“I’m not pissed off, I’m just concerned about you.” I said quietly and looked at Alex who smiled at me.
“So I went fishing back at Peters house. Before you say anything it was from a distance so he didn’t spot me.” Alex said and I frowned at him.
“Peter has a new guy on the go and I think it’s his little PA but I don’t know as another car showed up and scared the pair of them.” Alex said and I just sat there and had a think to myself.
“Why would you say it was his PA?” I asked as I looked at Alex again.
“Because that’s about the only person who can tolerate the bastard. Also them two was pretty close when I was around the house but I still have my betting that Rian is still his fuck buddy.” Alex said and I just nodded as Alex turned the water off and I handed him his towel.
“Anything else you want to share?” I asked and Alex shook his head as he wrapped the towel around himself and got out the shower.
“Nope.” Alex said and he went to walk off but I caught hold of his arm which made Alex look at me.
“Do I have to worry about you cheating on me with somebody else?” I asked quietly and Alex smiled at me as he pulled me closer to him and he kissed me which I returned and Alex rested his forehead against mine.
“Jealousy doesn’t suit you. Anyway I only want one man in my life and he’s stood in front of me.” Alex said and he kissed the end of my nose.
“Why do I think that you will cheat on me, we hardly talk anymore Alex, we literally just have sex and that’s it. It’s like you’ve just blocked everything out expect from having sex with me.” I said feeling like I should express my emotions onto Alex.
“I am doing it to keep you safe Jack. You have to trust me when I say I have things under control.” Alex said.
“Safe? Alex none of us are safe, you know since we are in a fucking gang that is planning to wipe out the man you once called your father. If anyone catches a single bit of wind about is then we are all fucking dead so no you are not keeping me safe if anything you are making everyone more on edge because we don’t know what you have planned or wether you are working for Peter. We don’t know because you won’t talk to me or anyone else. You say you have things under control but that can all backfire into your face and you will lose control Alex. I know it because I have seen it with my own eyes.” I said seriously and Alex sighed.
“I am not working for that man I once called my dad.” Alex pretty much growled.
“Really, because you not talking like I said before makes us all think that you are working for him.” I said.
“Christ I’m fucking tired with arguing with you all the time.” Alex said as he rubbed his forehead with his hand.
“And you don’t think I want to argue with you? Because I don’t but you are being so fucking difficult right now that I feel like I have no choice but to argue with you to get even the slightest information out of your bloody mouth.” I said and Alex looked at me.
“I don’t want this relationship to be filled with arguments Lex, I love you and you know that I love you. I hate arguing with you and I know you do to but you make it so much more harder for me and for yourself.” I said and Alex sighed and I stepped closer to him and kissed him which Alex returned.
“Talk to me Lex, you aren’t on your own through this.” I whispered against Alex lips and I kissed him again.
Alex pulled back and looked at me.
“I love you too.” Alex said and a huge smile found it way to my lips as Alex hasn’t said those 3 little words to me yet.
“What was that? I didn’t hear you.” I said cockily and Alex rolled his eyes at me.
“Don’t make me say it again.” Alex said going shy which was a rare thing for Alex and I loved that side of him.
“Once more, for me.” I said and Alex looked down and stepped towards me and kissed me hard which I returned.
“I love you.” Alex whispered into my ear which made me smile as Alex moved and walked out the bathroom and I stood in the bathroom looking like an idiot with a smile on my face.

“Seriously? Is that the best you can do?” Alex asked sarcastically as he looked at Frank who didn’t looked too pleased.
“It’s not as if we can walk into the place and get the information we need. You know different skin color don’t exactly fit in dumbass.” Frank said and Alex glared at him.
“Then you use me.” Alex said and we all looked at him shocked.
“What! Alex no that’s fucking suicidal and you know it’s suicidal.” I said and Alex looked at me.
“Do you trust Kyle enough to walk into that building and not blow the bloody place up? No I wouldn’t trust him either and your too easy to recognize thanks to your blonde patch and big nose.” Alex said and I frowned at him.
“That’s not nice.” Kyle said and Alex shrugged his shoulders.
“Have you just learnt that I’m not a nice person.” Alex said and I walked over to him and hugged him from behind.
“You are a nice person.” I said as I kissed his cheek.
“Only to you because you two are fucking.” Frank said and I stuck my middle finger up at him.
“You’re just jealous because I can get cock when I want it and you pretty much have to beg your other half to give it too you.” Alex said and I just shook my head as I let him go as sir walked in the room.
“Alex, Jack, Kyle, my office now.” Sir said seriously and I looked at Alex.
“I haven’t done nothing.” Alex said and I rolled my eyes and looked at Kyle who had a serious look on his face.

Turns out that sir had a job for all 3 of us at his club he owned.
“Wonder if we get to kill someone, it’s been a while.” Kyle said as we all got ready.
“That’s because the last time you was out you killed someone and their kid so maybe that’s why it’s been a while.” Alex said still holding a grudge about what Kyle did a few months ago.
“Don’t start Lex.” I said as I pulled on some skinny jeans.
“I’m only saying.” Alex said as he walked behind me and removed the towel and quickly put some pants on using me to hide behind.
“Well don’t, not having my night ruined by you gopping off.” Kyle said as he walked out the room since he was ready and I turned round and looked at Alex who was putting a shirt on.
“Please be on your best behavior tonight.” I said and Alex looked at me.
“I’m always on my best behavior.” Alex said and I just carried on looking at him.
“I promise I’ll be on my best behavior.” Alex said as he pulled on his jeans which happened to be the jeans I loved him in.
“You going to eye ball me or are we going out?” Alex asked as he put his shoes on, followed by him putting a beanie on.
“I like eyeballing you.” I said as Alex chuckled and closed the gap between us and he kissed me.
“I know you do, but we have a job to do so let’s get going.” Alex said as he slapped my ass and walked off and I just smiled to myself as I followed Alex downstairs and we made our way to the club.

When we got to the club we walked over to the bouncer who looked at us confused.
“We’re on business.” Kyle said and the bouncer nodded and let us in which pissed off the people who was waiting to go in.
“You know the drill Jack, tell Alex the drill while I get the drinks in.” Kyle said already knowing what we had to do which he passed onto me and I now had to pass onto Alex.
“Follow me.” I said to Alex as I took us somewhere quieter so I can tell him what the drill was.
I found somewhere quiet and I turned round and caught Alex checking my ass out.
“Okay, we are here on business which means we can’t act like we’re together. We have one person we are all looking for and when one of us spot him we have to woo him.” I said and Alex frowned.
“Woo him, what the fuck does that even mean?” Alex said sarcastically.
“Exactly that. We have to work our charm and get him out of the club and back to the meeting place for Sir to finish off.” I said and Alex frowned.
“So why couldn’t he do it?” Alex asked and I rolled my eyes at him.
“Use your fucking head Alex. Now the person we are looking for looks like this.” I said and showed Alex the picture as I looked round to make sure we are still alone.
“So What do I have to do if you or Kyle find him?” Alex asked suddenly taking this very serious.
“We follow the person who has him, we make sure the person doesn’t run of and if he does we get to shoot him.” I said and Alex smiled at that part.
“We need to get going. Remember we can’t be together so you have to mingle with everyone in the club.” I said and Alex groaned at that part but he accepted it.
“But one dance won’t hurt.” I said and Alex smiled and we made our way back out to the club and went over to Kyle and we had a couple of shots and went looking for this person.

I had no eyes on this person we was looking for but I was enjoying myself and I’m pretty sure that Alex was enjoying himself as well.
“You’re not meant to be getting drunk, remember we have business to do.” I heard Kyle say from behind me.
“Relax, Alex has our guy anyway.” I said and turned round and looked at Kyle.
“How the fuck do you even know that.” Kyle said and looked at me.
“Because he’s dancing with him and spent most of the night drinking with our guy and he wouldn’t be dancing like he is if it wasn’t our guy. You just have to trust him on this.” I said as I had some of my drink dancing to the music.
“Hey guys, I want you too meet my friend Dave.” Alex said and I turned round and saw a very drunk person and a tipsy Alex.
“Hey.” I said happily and looked at Kyle who had this same pissed off look on his face.
“Don’t mind him, he’s just grumpy because I get the shag of the night.” Alex said to Dave but he was looking at me.
“So I said to Dave we would walk him home.” Alex said and now I got his plan and so did Kyle.
“Then we can do something, you’ve been turning me down all night.” Dave said drunkenly and Alex looked at him.
“Sure thing babe.” Alex said as he put an arm over Dave which I didn’t like.
“Mark, look after Dave for me a second I need to talk to Dean.” Alex said using different name but me and Kyle knew exactly who we was.
“Sure, you smoke Dave?” Kyle asked as Alex passed Dave over to Kyle and said something quietly in Kyles ear.
“Yeah, you don’t by any chance have weed on you. I lost mine.” Dave said and Alex put something in Kyles back pocket and gave Kyle this look.
“Yeah I have weed, follow me and we’ll go outside to get some air into you.” Kyle said and he lead Dave out of the club and Alex caught hold of my hand and dragged me somewhere.

“You going to trust Kyle with Dave?” I asked as we got to the quiet area we was at earlier and I noticed something was wrong with Alex.
“Right now I don’t give a shit what Kyle does to him.” Alex said seriously.
“What’s the matter?” I asked as Alex looked round.
“We need to get out of here and we need to go a different way than Kyle.” Alex said and I frowned at him.
“What do you mean we need to get out. What the fuck have you done Alex?” I asked seriously and Alex looked at me.
“For once have a little faith in me when I say I have done nothing Jack. But I spotted Peter’s people here looking round. Something doesn’t feel right.” Alex said and for the first time ever I witnessed Alex being scared about something.
“Lex tell me what’s happening.” I said desperately.
“I don’t know Jack, I have no idea what is happening. Phone Kyle and tell him to get that drunken mess away from the club and to Sir.” Alex said as he looked around looking like he was looking for a escape route.
I got my phone out and quickly texted Kyle and put my attention back to this situation we was in.
“There’s no way out. Fuck sake.” Alex said as he spun himself back round again.
“Lock the door Jack.” Alex said seriously and I nodded and walked over and locked the door and put a load of boxes in front of it and I looked back at Alex.
“Please tell me you know a way out of here.” Alex said as he looked at me.
“Yeah I know a way out.” I said and I walked past Alex and he quickly followed me as I took us to Sir’s office where I knew there was a way of getting out of here.
“Okay now might not be the best time to confess this but I kissed Dave.” Alex said and I looked at him out the corner of my eye.
“This isn’t the best time Alex.” I said seriously as we got to Sir office and walked inside and once Alex was inside I locked the door behind us.
“Jack listen, I only had to do it so he would stay with me until we handed him to Sir.” Alex explained briefly.
“It’s fine Alex, I know what you had to do as long as you weren’t going to sleep with him.” I said as I looked round the office.
“There’s only one person I want to sleep with and he’s in this room.” Alex said and I went to say something when we heard gunshots and I looked at Alex.
“We need to get out of here.” Alex said quickly as he looked round.
“Follow me.” I said and I headed towards the fire exit.

We amazed to get out the club but the gunshots had stopped which put me and Alex on edge straight away.
“This means one thing Jack.” Alex said and I looked at him.
“I know.” I said quietly as I looked down the alleyway.
“We need to go different ways.” Alex said and I looked at him.
“No, no Alex we are not going different ways. I’m not leaving you fucking side Lex.” I said seriously as I grabbed hold of his hand which made Alex looked at me.
Alex grip got tighter round my hand and we walked towards the end of the alleyway.
“Once we get to the end of this alleyway we need to fucking run and fucking run fast.” Alex said quietly as we came to the end of the alleyway.
“I’m scared Lex.” I whispered and Alex squeezed my hand.
“I know.” Alex said quietly as he stopped which made me look at him.
“I love you Jack.” Alex said quietly and I kissed him hard.
“I love you too.” I whispered and we walked towards the end of the alleyway and once we was at the end we ran but that wasn’t before a huge explosion happened which took me off my feet and everything went black.
