Summary
Oxycontin is an intense pain reliever similar in strength to morphine. It is very important to take Oxycontin as directed, as it is very addictive, even in small doses. Oxycontin should be weaned off slowly, as sudden withdrawal can cause sneezing, watery eyes, chills, sweating, muscle aches and pains, and restlessness. Some withdrawal symptoms are severe and include anxiety, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, cramps, difficulty sleeping, loss of appetite, depression, irritability, heart palpitations, and fast breathing.
