"Oh God. Caydee. Why did you do this to yourself?" Alex whispered to the barely living girl that laid before him. Thick gauze was wound around both of her forearms and tubes and IVs were connected to her. Keeping her connected to earth. With tears in his eyes, Alex crossed the room and sat in the chair next to her bed and gingerly took her hand, as if sudden movement would scare the life right out of her. The slow beep on her heart monitor increased slightly. A tiny bit closer to normal speed. After what seemed like centuries, there was a slight knock at the door, and two people, a man and a woman, entered.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Ezra Stewarts. I am going to be Caydee's medical doctor during her stay here."
Alex stood to shake his hand. "Alex Gaskarth. I'm Caydee's boyfriend.
Dr. Stewarts gestures to the woman, "This is Dr. Marianna Wright. She is going to be my psychiatric consult." Alex shook her hand as well.
"Basically, I'm here to make sure that Caydee gets the best care that she needs, working with the medical staff to help her recover from her mental illness." She smiled softly.
"M-mental illness?" Alex asked, quietly.
"Yes, Alex." Her smile fell as the seconds ticked by. "Oh, dear. You aren't even fully aware of what happened. I'm so sorry." She said quickly, obviously walking on eggshells.
"No. I'm not. I get a call an hour or so ago and some nurse tells me my girlfriend tried to kill herself!" He screamed out of rage and sadness. "So no, I'm not fully aware of what happened. If someone would care to enlighten me, that would be fucking wonderful!"
Dr. Wright cleared her throat, "Perhaps this conversation would be best to have in my office? We can sit down and calmly discuss the events that transpired earlier today."
"Fine. I just want to know what happened."
"We'll explain everything." Dr. Wright said, opening the door and leading them out into the hallway.
