Alex

It’s been a whole year since we have broken up. But I still couldn’t get her out of my mind. I thought she was the one for me, and I still feel like she is. But there is nothing I can do about it now. She has her boyfriend, and I have my girlfriend Lisa. Why was I so stuck on her? Yes, we were together for three years, but by the looks of things, we both moved on. Well, physically I moved on, but emotionally and mentally I haven’t. I was currently over at my best friend Jack’s house venting to him.

“Lex, it’s been a year. You have Lisa. You love Lisa, don’t you?” Jack asked. I thought for a minute, then finally answered.

“No Jack. I don’t love Lisa. I love Blake.” I said as I put my head in my hands.

“Then stop being a bitch and go get your girl!” He said as he stood up.

“How the fuck am I going to do that? She’s dating Neal. I’m pretty sure she doesn’t even feel the same way about me.

“Alex, you know the Halloween party I threw a month ago?”

“Of course.”

“You may not have saw it because you were so caught up drinking, but I saw the way Blake was looking over at you when ever she got the chance. Her eyes looked like they were filled with nothing but pain and regret. Alex, Blake is in love with you.” He spoke. I really hope I don’t regret this decision, but I’m going for it. I can’t be without her anymore. I pulled myself together and told Jack goodbye, as I walked out to my car and started to drive to her house. Here I come Blake.

Blake

I currently sitting on my porch having a cup of coffee with my best friend, Maggie. Maggie has been my best friend since basically the day we were born. Our parents were friends way before we even came into the picture, and she is only one week older than me. We were talking about American horror story when I saw a Black BMW pull into my driveway. I knew it wasn’t Neal’s, so who was this person sitting there? Both Maggie and I looked over and saw the door of the car open, and out stepped the one and only Alex Gaskarth.

“Well shit. Looks like lover boy is stressed, do you see the way he is carrying himself?” Maggie Whispered to me. Maggie was the person who helped me through the whole break-up with Alex. She is also the only one that knows I’m still in love with him, and how much it hurts everytime I see him. Why was he here anyways? He walked up to us and stood in front of us awkwardly.

“Hey Blake.” He said as he nervously scratched the back of his neck.

“Hello Alex.” I said plainly.

“Uh, can I talk to Blake alone please, Maggie?”

“Sure thing!” Maggie said as she got up from her chair and went inside my house.

“What did you want to talk about?” I asked as I took a sip of my coffee.

“Look, I’m just going to come out and say it. Blake, you have been on my mind since the moment we broke up a year ago. I can’t seem to move on past you. Yes, I am with Lisa. Well, was with Lisa. I broke up with her on the way here. I couldn’t be with someone I’m not in love with. And it hurts me so much to see you with anyone other than me. Blake, I am still in love with you. I need you in my life.” I was in utter shock at the words that left his mouth. What should I do? I’m still in love with him to, and if I was honest, I’m not in love with Neal. But I am still dating him. Fuck, why did he have to do this to me. “Please say something.”

“Alex. I’m going to be bluntly honest with you. I’m in love with you. I always have been, but what am I going to do about it when I’m still with Neal?”

“You could end things with him and take me back?” He said with the most awkward voice. I chuckled at his nervousness and put my coffee on my outside table and stood up, coming face-to-face with him.

“If you promise not to leave my side again, I’ll end things with him tonight.” I said looking up into his chocolate-brown orbs.

“Agreed.” He said with a smile as he put his arms around my waist and brought me closer to him before placing a loving kiss on my lips.

“About fucking time! Might be a year late, but holy shit! About time!” I heard the voice of Maggie speak. We broke away from the kiss and I looked over to the entrance of my house and saw her standing there with a smirk on her face. “If you don’t want to, I can end things with Neal for you. He always was a jackass.”

“No, I’ll do it. But I will need you to be there in case things end badly.” I said.

“I’ll be there for you, too. I’ll go anywhere, as long as you're with me.” Alex whispered to me as he placed a kiss on my cheek, making me giggle.
