“No!” Selene screams when Becky grabs her song book from her. “Give that back!”
“I don’t think I should,” Becky snears. “You need to learn to stop spreading lies about me. I thought that you would have figured that out after last time.”
“I didn’t spread any. I swear!”
“Like I should believe you.”
The bully has her goons hold her victim back as she gathers her strength. The tears well up in Selene’s eyes as she sees her most prized possession being ripped apart. The pages fly everywhere just like her happiness. The one thing that she always has when she needs someone to talk to is now gone. It’s been taken away from her and destroyed.
With one final stomp, Becky grins evilly and then leaves with her goons. Selene crawls over to her book and holds it in her eyes as the liquid flows uncontrollably down her face. She grabs all of the pages off of the floor and puts them back in the book so she can take it home to sort out. However, she’s not sure if she’ll be able to bring herself to fix it. Right now, her heart is completely broken. It shattered right when the first rip happened.
When she has everything gathered up, she runs out of the bathroom and then out of the school. She doesn’t care that she will get in trouble. Her heart is destroyed. Nothing means anything anymore. Her whole world has been destroyed. There is nothing left to live for.
Selene runs as fast as she can to the river that runs through the small town. As soon as she gets there, she sits away from any eyes. Her eyes watch the river passes and wishes that her life could flow like that, with no waterfalls. This is the river that is connected to the stream where she found the book. She’s a fool to have ever thought that that book would actually do anything to help her pathetic life. She’s really a fool just to think that her life will get better. Well, that’s what she thinks. Terrible thought run through her head. Thoughts that should never come into anyone’s head.
“I wonder what they would do if I just ended it right now,” she whispers to herself. “Would they cry? Would they even care?” Her life doesn’t really have any meaning anymore. All of her feelings were torn away from her when her book was destroyed. “My book is gone and so are all of those emotions. Does it really matter if I jumped into the river and died?”
At that moment, she feels something go around her shoulders. It almost feels like an arm. The hand of this mysterious arm rubs the upper part of her right arm in a comforting way. Selene has no idea what’s going on, but it feels nice. It makes her feel wanted. At first it scared her, but now it feels like the most comforting thing in the world. It exceptionally feels this way when she feels a slight pressure on the top of her head.
“Please don’t hurt yourself,” she hears a voice whisper to her. “Your life is no over, it’s only just beginning. Besides, sometimes it’s better to let go of the past and think of the future. Don’t end your life because of them. They aren’t worth it. You’re so much better than them. You’re going to make it in this world. Just, don’t hurt yourself. Do it for me. Have your webcam ready for tomorrow. I want to talk to you.”
The presence disappears, but the words are still swimming in her head. Selene can’t even believe that she had thought about killing herself. The voice is right. She is so much better than Becky. She’s going to make a name for herself and live the life that she wants to live. Her life may suck right now, but when she leaves this all behind, it will be like a dream. No one is going to stop her.
Then she realizes who the voice sounded like. No, it couldn’t have been him. Selene knows that the spell is working, but that spell couldn’t do that, right? She’ll find out tomorrow though when she talks to this person. The brunette doesn’t know what to expect, but she should expect the unexpected.

Sorry this is late and so short. I'm going to start trying to update every Wednesday for this story. Yesterday, I was tired when I got back from my dad's, so I didn't get to finish it yesterday. The next chapter probably won't be that long either, but the chapter after that should be fine.
