Lady and the Tramp II

Tenderfoot

Luke and Angel spent the rest of the day walking around the town together, getting to know each other. Or Angel learnt what Luke made up, at least. The two teenagers naturally got along, but even Angel could tell that something was missing on Luke’s end. He stuttered at times during their conversation, sounding unsure of himself quite often.

“Whoa, nice neighbourhood. Snob Hill,” Angel laughed, nudging Luke with her shoulder as they began to pass through one of the cleaner alleys in the town. Luke, after taking his eyes off of Angel for a few seconds, finally noticed that this was his neighbourhood. His alley, specifically. Luke cringed as the pair neared his house, nodding his head as Angel talked about her family. The boy silently wondered why the back gate was open, as it was usually kept locked.

“Come on, Jack.” A familiar voice rang out from nearby, a voice that Luke would never mistake for someone else’s.

“We’ve got to get out of here,” Luke looked at Angel with wide eyes, taking hold of the girl’s slender arm and tugging her back the way they’d come from.

“Why? What’s wrong?” Angel looked at Luke expectantly, seemingly quite annoyed by his grip on her. She’d been having an amazing time, so the girl reasoned that Luke have better had a reason to touch her in such ways.

Instead of answering her, Luke swung an arm around Angel’s waist, tugging her in the direction he’d wanted to go. Apparently, this had been enough for the blonde, as she ripped herself from his grasp, huffing as she looked back in the opposite direction. Luke could only stand behind her helplessly as they watched the scene in front of them unfold.

“Oh, we’ll find him. We can’t have you worrying, too, now.” The same voice from earlier, Alex’s, laughed.

“I know, I know. It’s just, where could he be if he’s not where we’ve already looked? I can’t help but worry.” Angel and Luke watched Jack put an arm around Alex’s waist from where they could see the couple standing on their porch.

Alex nudged Jack’s neck with his nose, speaking a bit quieter, “We all have faith in the Tramp.”

“If only the old Tramp was still here.” Angel remarked, looking back at Luke quickly, slightly sarcastic, slightly confused.

“We'll find Luke tomorrow,” Jack finally decided, leaning down to press a kiss to Alex’s lips, just as Angel turned around once more. Luke had hoped the girl hadn’t heard that, but it was now obvious that she had.

“The Tramp is your father?” Angel gasped, her hand moving to rest on Luke’s chest, fingers tapping lightly as she waiting for an answer.

“I, um-” Luke sputtered, as Angel spun around and stormed away. “Wait. No, wait! Angel, wait!” Luke cried after her, smiling gratefully when she stopped in her path.

Inside the house, Annette, Collette, and Danielle were waiting expectantly as their fathers came inside.

“Did you find him?” Danielle asked, walking up to Alex as the girls looked between each other sadly.

“Maybe tomorrow.” Alex whispered, pressing a quick kiss to his daughter’s forehead, greeting the other girls and leading them into the kitchen for dinner.

Jack was about to follow, but voices from outside caught his attention. Sticking his head out the door, he could see someone standing in the alley.

“Jack, baby, come eat,” Alex called from inside, to which Jack could hear his girls giggling in response.

“In a minute, love,” Jack replied, rolling his eyes with a smile, ducking his head back inside quickly before exiting the house and walking down the steps. As the man neared their fence, he could blatantly see that it was Luke who he had heard just moments prior, along with someone else that he couldn’t recognize.

“Gosh, I didn't think they'd miss me that much.” Jack heard his son whisper to the unknown figure. Apparently, they’d seen him, too.

“You didn't think they'd miss you?” A female voice asked, light and calm, but still unfamiliar to Jack. “I can't believe you'd run away from a home like this.”

“Well, you don't know what it was like.” Luke countered, to which the girl responded, “No, I don't. Must have been horrible having someone care about you that much.”

“I know, but I need freedom. I'll never find that here, Angel.” Luke sighed, as Jack strained his neck to get a better look. In result, he noticed his son, standing awfully close to a pretty, blonde girl.

“I'd give anything to have what you have.” Angel whispered, prompting Luke to respond with, “And l'd give anything to have what you have.”

“Come on, Luke. We could run off together. We don't need them!” Angel suddenly burst, looking quite hopeful.

“No, don't you understand? Only one more test, and I'll finally be part of the junkyard. It’s so cool there, that's where I belong.” Luke said, shaking his head.

“No, you don't belong there. You're better than that, Luke, and that's what I like about you.” Angel replied, smiling as she held a hand out towards Luke. “Come on, tenderfoot. Let's go.” Jack watched Luke take the girl’s hand, sighing to himself as he headed back inside.

Later on, the rest of Luke’s family were watching a movie together on the couch. Alex was cuddled up under Jack’s arm, while Danielle, Annette, and Collette sat on the other couch, whispering between themselves and throwing popcorn at each other. Jack smiled as Alex yawned against his chest, cuddling himself up to his husband.

“Why don’t we head to bed, pidge?” Jack whispered, placing a kiss on Alex’s hair, as the other man hummed in agreement. The couple stood up, Jack waiting for Alex to get up first before following, taking his lover’s hand in the process. “Goodnight, girls,” Jack sighed contently, as Alex offered a wave to their daughters. A chorus of ‘goodnights’ was said back in reply, before the two men made their way to their room.

Jack sat down on the bed, tugging his shirt off over his head as he watched Alex walk towards him. The younger man sat down on his lap, facing Jack, as his partner’s hands took hold of his hips.

“I don’t want to sleep,” Alex purred into Jack’s ear. He could sense the sly look taking over the other man’s features.

“What do you want to do, then?” Jack played along, hands rubbing up and down Alex’s back.

“Depends,” Alex smirked, placing kisses along Jack’s jaw and to his neck. Jack leant down to capture Alex’s lips in a kiss, focusing on just how perfect his boy was, before pulling away to speak once more.

“On what, sugar?” Jack asked with a chuckle, watching as Alex slipped from his grasp, kneeling on the floor in front of him.

“On whatever you tell me you want me to do,” Alex finished, cocking his head to the side with a grin as he watched Jack’s eyes practically roll back into his head. Yes, Alex would definitely be the death of him.
