Jack Barakat Imagines

Tattoos and Shows

Your POV

Standing nervously around a concert line waiting for something to happen has got to be the most nerve wrecking experience. I mean, I haven’t really ever had many nerve wracking experiences, except for my tattoos, but you know. One can never be so sure.

Especially at an All Time Low concert. Those guys are always doing something unpredictable. Whether it be Jack running around in his underwear, or the entire crew coming out to eat cake, I don’t know. I guess the best bet is not to expect anything.

But while trying not to expect anything, I also expecting everything. I’ve heard so many things, and I don’t even know where to begin. I want to meet them, but how do I do that? I want to stay away and not embarrass myself, but what’s the fun in that? I have absolutely no idea what to do to be honest.

Still standing in line, I want to get a good spot in the venue. Sure, I brought my friend, but she’s not the kind of fan that I am. That’s not to sound mean or condescending or anything, she just only came because I asked her to. So she’s a good friend.

I had to use the bathroom anyway, so it was good to have someone keep my spot in line. I left to go use it, and got out to where they held the bathrooms outside. Apparently it was normal for fans to wait outside forever. I hated port-a-potties, so I decided to look for the nearest restaurant or store.

I wandered into a record store and asked the keeper if I could use the bathroom. On my way there, I managed to catch a glimpse of some black and blonde hair. As well as a strange blueberry. Not the actual fruit blueberry, but a guy with a blue head. That guy is definitely Alex Gaskarth.

What the fuck do I do? I’ve never been faced with this situation before. When I see people I know, usually I just hope they don’t see me. But this is Jack Barakat and Alex Gaskarth. A once in a lifetime chance to meet my idols or even just the people a part of a band that has been a part of my life.

My mind wandered over to my tattoos. Adventure Time, Jack’s favorite show. The Nightmare Before Christmas, one of Jack’s favorite movies, and also tattoo that belongs right on his chest of Jack Skellington playing his guitar. If I showed him those, would he be more inclined to talk to me? I completely forgot about going to the bathroom and just stood there as I contemplated my next move.

“Jack, would you just choose something already?” I heard Alex’s voice. I didn’t want to eavesdrop. Okay, maybe a little, but this was wrong. I can’t just stand here and stare.

“Shut up, I’m taking my time,” Jack snapped back playfully.

“You’ve been taking your time for an hour now. We have to go get ready for the show.”

“You mean you have to go get ready for the show. I’m already ready.” I looked up and down at Jack’s outfit. He was dressed nicely. Even from behind I could tell his hair was on point like always. “It’s not my fault that you decided to wait ‘til we get back to get ready. You of all people should know how long I take at record stores.”

I couldn’t help it, I let out a giggle. Please, shoot me now. Jack turned to look at Alex, but he kept turning. He caught on to my presence. I coughed awkwardly.

“Oh hello!” Jack smiled in a friendly manner.

Alex turned around too, but was wearing sunglasses. Inside. Damn, Alex, of course he would. “Who’s this?” Alex smirked pointing his thumb at me.

“I-I’m Y/N,” I stammered.

“Alex, this is Y/N,” Jack introduced. I giggled again, and he gave me a warm smile. Something I just wish I could put in my pocket and walk around with forever.

“Really Jack? Do you know her birthday too?”

“Hey, shut up, you were the one who said you didn’t want to go far when looking for a store.”

“Yeah, I said not far, I didn’t say across the street from the venue.”

“Well Alex, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but this is a record store that’s closest to our hotel.”

I laughed at their bickering and held my hand up to my mouth. Was I being rude or obnoxious? I think Alex hates me.

“Don’t worry about him, Y/N,” Jack reassured me. “He’s just grumpy that I dragged him out of bed to look for a CD.” I nodded and shuffled my feet. “So whatcha here for?”

“I was standing in line at the concert, and then I had to go to the bathroom, but I hate outside ones, so I came here. And - well - here you are.”

Jack gave me a smile and motioned for me to come on over. I walked timidly toward them, and Alex groaned. “Alex, for god’s sake, it is 5 in the afternoon, if I had not pulled you out of bed, you would have stayed there until the concert.” Alex mimicked him with a high voice and a scrunched up face. I giggled again before I wandered over to where they were.

“So what are you looking for?” I asked him, looking through the records.

“Just some John Mayer shit.” I nodded and thumbed through the albums.

“This looks like John Mayer, did you see this one.”

“No, where did you find that.” Jack came increasingly close to me and I shuddered. I couldn’t have him being that close to me, it’s not good for my heart. I tried my best to remain calm.

“Holy shit, we’ve been looking for that forever,” Alex gasped, exasperated. “Y/N, you’re our lifesaver! Now we can go home. Let’s go, Jack.”

“Nah, wait a second.” Jack looked down at me, and I felt like I was shrinking the longer his gaze held mine. His eyes shifted down to my arm. “Finn and Jake? No way!” He took my arm and examined it. “Alex, come check this out.”

“Jack, I told you, I need to get ready.”

“Fine, you go, I stay here with her.”

“Bryan is going to get mad if we don’t stay with the buddy system.” Alex sighed and tapped his foot anxiously.

“Dude, I’m a 26 year-old man I think I can handle walking four blocks back to the hotel all by myself.”

“If you get mugged, it’s not my fault.” Alex left the store, and I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding.

“Don’t worry about him. He’s always just nervous before a show. He likes to have plenty of time to get ready. Hates being late. You get used to it.”

I giggled and covered my mouth with my hand. I keep doing that. “So you’re not nervous?”

“I try not to think about it. You got any other tattoos that I would like?” His face lit up like a kid in a candy store. If I knew he would have been this excited about them, I would have started out with that.

“I got a Nightmare Before Christmas one on my back,” I told him, biting my lip with anticipation.

“No way, show me!” I giggled and turned around, pulling my shirt up so he could see where it was. “Fucking rad as hell.” I turned around to smile up at him. “Hey, let me pay for this record and we can talk about more stuff later, yeah?”

Was Jack Barakat just asking me to hangout with him? I could die like right now. I don’t want to, but I might. “Y-yeah, sure.” I tried to remain calm. Didn’t work out all that well.

“Okay, I’m gonna buy this, then I’ll give you my number, and then I have to go stop Alex from worrying like the little tiny fruitcake he is. Also I have that whole concert thing. Then, we hang out. Sound good?”

I laughed at Jack’s proposal and nodded my head. “Sure, but Alex is like only an inch shorter than you.”

“Sure he is, but I’m still taller, and I’m still superior.” He laughed so that his eyes crinkled up at the corners. I nodded and he turned around to pay for the record. I met Jack Barakat and Alex Gaskarth. Who even am I?

He came back to give me his number, and we went on our separate ways. I was halfway there until I was back at the line until I remembered that I was using the bathroom. And that that was important. So I ran back, did my business then went to find my friend.

She barely even noticed how long I was gone. I guess that’s what happens when you lose yourself to Tumblr. We waited a bit longer until the show started. Once they started letting people in, I could barely contain my excitement. I couldn’t stop grinning the whole time.

We got to our spots, and it wasn’t close enough to get crushed, but it was pretty close. I say we did pretty well. My friend knew how to have a good time and I was glad of that. I couldn’t help but glance at Jack every so often. He was always doing something crazy. I don’t think that he could ever not want to do this anymore, he looked like he was having so much fun.

Overall the concert was everything I wanted it to be and more. Alex and Jack do bicker like an old married couple, I have witnessed that now both in front of my face and on the stage. I’d like to say my life is complete.

When the show got out, Jack had texted me. He told me to come to him, and I had no idea what that meant. I sent my friend home in a cab, and told her I’d be out later. I knew she had work in the morning and didn’t want to drag her into this.

I wandered over until I saw a security guard. I’d figured that’s where they must be. I walked over to him, and made sure no one else was around. “Uh, yeah hi, is this where All Time Low is?”

He peered down at me, and even though he was wearing sunglasses (at night) I still felt intimidated. “Who’s asking?”

“Uh. Y/N?”

His face broke into a smile, and it felt weird to relax my shoulders so I didn’t. “Go on right ahead, Jack’s waiting.”

That’s a weird thing to say, but okay. I wandered in until I found the guy. His face was beyond adorable when I walked in. “Guess what I have,” he ussured me, his face unable to break his ongoing smile. He didn’t wait for me to answer. “The complete first season of Adventure Time.”

“Oh my god no way,” I let the smile escape my lips as I rushed over to him, taking the spot next to him with crossed legs. I looked around, the other guys weren’t in sight. “So where is everyone else?”

“Not here.”

“And you are?”

“Because you’re here,” he smirked. I nodded like I understood, but I didn’t. What exactly did that mean? I didn’t want to analyze it too much, and before I knew it, Jack put on the show. We sat on the ground like five year olds and had popcorn fights. I could feel Jack glancing over at me the entire time, but didn’t want to say anything about it.

We watched shows into the night and even though I had met one half of All Time Low just that day, I could feel a beautiful friendship blossoming. Until Jack scooted closer, and his knee touched mine. Suddenly my face became red hot and I felt like I wanted more.
