Chapter Twelve
Jack
I looked over at the sleeping boy in my arms. There was only one bed in Austin's only spare room. I didn't want Alex to sleep on the floor and Alex didn't want me to sleep on the floor. This ended up with Alex falling asleep in my arms and us cuddling together in the bed. He was cute with his caramel bangs brushed back showing his forehead. His mouth hung slightly open. He looked even more innocent right now.
I let out a sigh and carefully moved, making sure not to wake Alex. Yeah, I wanted to cuddle with him all day but I just couldn't lie there awake. I wanted to sleep but my mind just wouldn't shut off and let me sleep. I looked down at Alex and smiled softly. I stretched and walked down the stairs carefully. I saw Austin standing on his back porch, a cigarette in his mouth. I opened the door joining him out there.
"Can't sleep either," he asked once the door closed.
"Can't shut my mind off," I responded.
"You're thinking about him, aren't you?"
"How did you know that?"
"You're so transparent Jack. Even a blind man could tell. This isn't the typical, standard flirting that you do. You aren't joking, you're being serious."
"And?"
"You're in love with him Jay."
"And?"
"You're so fucking irritating when you're tired. Go get a fucking beer because you're easier to talk to drunk."
I leaned against the railing with Austin and looked up to the sky. The stars shined brightly and the moon was huge. I smiled softly when I thought about that night in the park with Alex. It was our first kiss, it was the single most romantic feeling I had ever had. I smiled softly at the memory.
"Go to him. I know that's what you want," Austin said.
"Fine Aus, I'll see you in the morning," I said. "Oh, and thank you again, for everything."
"Just don't fuck in any of my rooms and you're fine."
"No promises dude."
He rolled his eyes and pressed the cigarette to his lips again. I walked back into the spare room and saw Alex was sitting up with his hands out towards me. He had a frown painted on his lips. I rolled my eyes and crawled back into the bed next to him. He curled into my side, laying his stomach on his chest. I ran my hands through his hair.
"Why'd you leave," he asked softly.
"Couldn't sleep," I responded.
"Oh, alright."
"I promise, I will never leave you Alex. Not until you push me away and force me to leave."
"Thank you Jay."
I leaned down and kissed him softly. He smiled at me softly and kissed me softly again. I really did adore him. I laid down and fell asleep with Alex sleeping softly in my arms. I laid down and felt Alex's arms wrap awkwardly around my torso. I kissed his forehead and I felt his breathing slow as he let sleep take him.
"I adore you Alex," I whispered to the boy, hoping he couldn't hear me.

Notes
It's not the longest chapter but I think it's really cute. I don't feel great so I'm going to throw up some updates because I have my laptop and don't feel like moving so...
