Alex

Wendy didn't say a lot while we were all talking. She seemed to shrug some of the questions off. I understood that she was afraid to trust, afraid to let anyone in. Her walls were so high, so strong that the only way you could get in was her letting you. She didn't seem to budge either, she was comfortable that way. I understood how that felt.

"Wendy, let's talk, you and I," I said suddenly.
Zack looked over at me with a knowing look on his face. I gave him a look only he could understand. He turned his head and continued talking with Kara whom Jack was getting on with quite well. Wendy stood up and followed me. We walked to the swings where we didn't say anything.

"Alex, why do you want to talk to me alone," she asked suddenly.

"You didn't comfortable with the group is all," I responded.

"Things like this aren't really my thing. I'm not a talker."

"I understand Wendy. I really do."

"It seems like you're forcing me to talk."

"I'm not forcing you to do anything, I would never force you to do anything. If you'd rather stare at the clouds and swing I'm fine with that. I'm fine if you want to tell me your entire life story. I just want you to be comfortable."

"Why do you care Alex?" Isn't it obvious why I care? Isn't it obvious that I'm head over heels for you? Can't you tell that I have such strong feelings for you? There's no way I wouldn't care about you. There's nothing you could do that would make me not care about you.

"Well, why do you," she asked, pushing my answer.

"Why wouldn't I," was all I answered.

"Look, I'm not some girl you can charm into doing anything."

"You think that's what I'm trying to do? Why won't you trust me?"

"You haven't given me a reason to."

"Have I given you a reason not to?"

She looked at me, not expecting question. She stared at me as if looking for an answer that suited her. She couldn't find one. There wasn't one. I would never give her a reason not to. What could I recieve from that. She looked at me, regret in her eyes.

"I'm sorry Lex, I didn't mean to snap," she whispered.

Lex, where did that come from? That was a new one for me. We didn't even know each other well enough to give each other nicknames. I just smiled it off, it didn't mean anything.

"It's okay princess," I said kissing her forehead and walking away.

Notes

So, I ran a buisness today and it went really well so yay!!! It's really exciting for me. I also made a new friend, it's a cat (cats hate me so this is big for me). Here's a kinda longer chapter. I'll write longer ones I promise I just gave exams in two days so my mind is everywhere.
