Somewhere In Neverland

Wendy's POV

"I'm really surprised you didn't pull me away and run home as soon as they said something to us." Kara said as we walked into the door.

"To be honest, I'm surprised I didn't as well. I guess I just have this feeling we need to have other friends ya know? Someone we can talk to when we can't come to each other. Even if we always come to each other." I said shutting the front door behind us.

"I understand. I'm glad you let us talk to them. They seemed pretty cool. And one of them, uh..the one with the black with blonde patch in his hair..uh..." Kara started, trying to remember his name.

"Jack?" I asked looking over to her as we went and sat on the couch.

"Yeah! Jack! He had on a Blink shirt, just like you do. But his was white."

"Yeah, I saw that. They all seem pretty nice. And by the way they look, I'm guessing they have pretty awesome music taste. But there was something about that Alex guy I just couldn't place. Normally I can get a good read on people when I first meet them. I just couldn't with Alex." I said with a sigh.

"You're right about that. I couldn't either. He seems so, how do I say this, intriguing?" She said looking over to me.

"Yeah, really intriguing. He just seems so different." I said thinking about it. "Anyways, we will probably never see them again, so don't think to much about it. We should probably get to bed. You have online classes to do tomorrow, and I'm going to go out and go shopping for some food." I spoke as I stood up.

"Okay, night Wendy." Kara said getting up and walking up the stairs, me following up the stairs and parting ways at the top.

"Night Kara, sleep well." I said, then shut my door behind me. I grabbed my night outfit and walked into my bathroom, and started up the shower. Once I was done with my shower I dried off and put on my night stuff. I walked back into my room after blow drying my hair, I turned off my light and got in bed. My thoughts going everywhere.

Who were these boys?

Why did they talk to us?

Why does Alex seem so different?

At least one of them has good music taste, don't know about the others yet.

Brain, can I go to sleep now?

No?

Fine.

I sighed at my own thoughts. I must have fell asleep sometime during the night, next thing I knew, I was being woken up my my alarm clock, 8 o'clock am. I rolled over and turned my alarm off. I got out of bed, I remembered the first thing I had to do was go and wake Kara up. That way she can get started on her classes, and when I come back from the store she should be done by then. I walked out of my room and walked down the hall to Kara's room.

"Kara? Sis, it's time to wake up." I said walking over to her bed and shaking her a bit. "Come on, get up. I want you to start your classes within the next hour, that way when I get back from the store we can go out for ice cream." Kara rolled over and rubbed her eyes.

"I'm up." She spoke with a sheepish voice.

"Good. I'm going to go get ready. Then I'm leaving, you can text me if you need anything okay?" I said walking back over to the door., as she nodded her head. I walked out her door and went back to my room, changing into my outfit for the day. Nothing to special. Just a Green Day shirt and some black skinny jeans. Once I had fixed my hair and finished getting ready I walked downstairs and into the kitchen, I saw a note on the table with some money next to it.

Dear Wendy,
Here is the money for food at the store. Make sure you get enough to last for two weeks. You may have the rest of the change. Tell Kara I said to make sure she gets her classes done on time. You guys may go out and do whatever you want for the rest of the day.
Love,
Mom.

I picked up the money and put it in my pocket. I grabbed my car keys and heard over to the door.

"I'm leaving now Kara! Make sure to get your classes done!" I shouted as I opened the door.

"Logging onto them right now!" I heard her shout back. Which that I shut the door and walked over to my car. I started up my car and pulled out of the drive-way and started my way to the store. I got to the store in under ten minutes, glad that in this town it is not as far as it has been in the other places we lived. I shut off my car and got out, I walked into the store with my phone, keys, and money in my pockets. I took a shopping cart and started around the aisles looking for foods for us to eat for the next two weeks.

"Wendy? A voice asked from behind me. I turned around with a fright and saw someone standing there.

"Oh. It's you. Alex right?" I asked as he walked over to me.

"Yeah. What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Can a person not going shopping for their family?" I asked with attitude.

"Calm down tiger, it was just a question." Alex said with a small laugh.

"Whatever. What do you want? I need to get back to shopping." I stated looking straight at him.

"I forgot to ask you yesterday if I could get your number. That way we can hang out sometime." He said.

"Sorry Alex. But I don't give my number out to people I just met, is that all you wanted?" I asked, keeping up with my attitude. I don't know why I had a attitude with the guy, he seemed nice. Guess it's just how I have been ever since my Dad.

"Uh yeah. I guess. See you around then." He said with a somewhat disappointing look on his face. I shrugged it off.

"Yeah. Bye." I said walking off to finish up my shopping.

I just got done putting all the food away and went upstairs to check on Kara.

"Hey girl, you finish your work?" I asked opening her room.

"Just got done. Time for that ice cream you promised?" She asked jumping up and putting on her shoes.

"Sure. Come on, we can walk. It's a nice day out." I said with a smile. We walked down the stairs together and over to the door, locking it behind us as we stepped out. We walked down the side-walk, just talking about anything and everything. Mostly how we both want to go to this up coming Green Day concert, but we didn't think we would have the money for it. Oh well, wouldn't be the first time we had to miss out on a concert. We arrived at the ice cream shop and ordered our ice cream, we sat down at a table outside and I put on some music on my phone.

"Oh hey look Wendy, it's the guys from yesterday." Kara said pointing behind me. I turned around and saw all four boys walking our way.

"Great." I muttered, with a roll of my eyes.

"Hey guys!" Alex spoke up.

"What are you, stalking me now?" I asked him with my eyebrow raised.

"Nope, we just always come here and get ice cream on Tuesdays. As well as I always go shopping on Tuesdays." Alex said taking the seat next to me. I got up from my seat and walked around the table and sat next to my sister.

"Damn, you really going to keep that attitude up?" Jack asked as he sat down next to Alex, as well as the others, who's names I forgot, did as well.

"Yes, I am. I don't know you guys. Why are you even sitting here with us?" I snapped at them.

"Just trying to talk and hang out." Alex said holding his hands up.

"Well we don't want to talk and hang out. Come on Kara. Let's go home." I said standing up, and waiting for Kara to get up as well.

"Okay Wen." She said standing up. I looked back at the boys and glared at them as we started to walk away. Once we were out of hearing range Kara spoke up.

"Why are you giving them so much attitude today?" She asked confused.

"I don't know. I just seen Alex at the store today. Freaked me out a bit I guess. Makes me feel like he is stalking me or some shit, even though I'm sure he is not, they live around here too I'm guessing." I said to her. She nodded her head saying she understands, the rest of the walk home was quiet. Not a awkward silence, just a nice silence.
