Somewhere In Neverland

"I don't care if they are my kids!" My Father shouted at my Mother.
"You should care! I can't believe you are willing to give up your family just to run off with that fucking slut down the street!" She shouted back.

I was upstairs in my little sister Kara's room. Our parents have always fought with each other. But never this bad. My sister was sleeping on her bed, and I was in there to make sure she didn't wake up and hear what was going on. She's only eleven. She shouldn't have to listen to any of this. An hour went by and I heard a crash down stairs, and the sounds of glass going everywhere. I slowly got up and went opened the bedroom door and slipped out. I started my way down the stairs and into the kitchen where I saw glass everywhere on the floor, my Mother, she was holding up a knife. My Father then backed her up in a corner and knocked the knife onto the ground. He then slapped her across the face. I reached inside my pocket and pulled out my phone, since no one knew I was down here watching what was going on. So when I spoke into my phone, it made both my Father and Mother jump.

"911 operator, what's your emergency?" A lady spoke on the other side of the phone.

"I need cops. Lots of them. Fast." I spoke. Making my Father turn around.

"Wendy. Sweetie. Put the phone down." He spoke walking over to me slowly.

"Don't take another step near me!" I shouted. Making my Father stop where he was.

"Hunny, can you tell me what is going on please?" The lady on the phone spoke.

"There is glass broken everywhere. I just saw my Father slap my Mother across the face. Hard. She's over in the corner of the kitchen. I think she has glass in her feet, they are bleeding really bad. Someone help." I spoke on the edge of tears.

"Calm down. I have sent police to your destination. Everything will be just fine." The lady tried to calm me down.

"Fuck this." My Father muttered and ran over to the front door and picked up a suit case that was waiting next to it, and ran out the door.

"My Father just ran out the door with a suit case. He's getting in his car. I think he's leaving us." I spoke into the phone as tears started to roll down my cheeks. I dropped the phone on the ground and ran out the door.

"You can't do this to us! Come back! Please!" I shouted as I dropped to my knees. I heard the sounds of police sirens coming closer and closer. I lifted up my head and saw red and blue lights flashing. A cop jumped out of his car and ran over to me.

"Are you hurt?" He asked dropping down next to me.

"No." I said bluntly, the only thing that was hurting me was my heart. "Mom's hurt. Bad. She's in the kitchen."

"Medics to the kitchen! Quick!" The man shouted as he put a arm around my shoulders in a comforting way. "Is there anyone else in the house?"

"My sister. Kara. She's up in her room. I'll get her." I spoke as I shook off his arm and walked into the house, and ran up the stairs. I opened Kara's door and saw she was putting on her shoes.

"Wen! What's going on? Why are there cops outside?" She asked rushing over to me.

"Don't worry about it Kara. We need to go outside. Everything is going to be just fine. Just when we leave your room. Keep your head down. I don't want you to see the house." I said grabbing her hand to lead her downstairs. "Put your head down Kara." She did as I told her to, and I pulled her all the way out the front door. I saw Mom being put into a ambulance.

"Girls, you are going to have to come with us for the night okay?" A lady officer asked us. I nodded my head telling her okay.

"What? No! Why? Where's Mom? Where's Dad? I want Dad!" Kara shouted. I pulled her into a hug and whispered sweet nothings into her ear, to get her to calm down.

"We will see Mom soon Kara, just trust me on this okay?" I asked as I pulled away from her. She nodded her head slowly, and we started following the officer to her police car.
