Long Live the Reckless and the Brave

Five

I got back into school the day after the the studio trip andhadn't missed a beat. Aubree and I were hanging out at my locker when one of the junior jocks came over to us. I was worried about this since Aubree and I were both freshmen (Aubree is a genius and got into mine and Tom's grade).
"Hey Stella," he greeted me.
"Hi Bryce," I replied as I grabbed my french book from my locker.
"I was wondering if you and your lovely friend here would to come my party tonight," he handed me a flyer with all the details.
"I'll think about it," I told him and he walked off.
"You better not be thinking about going to that party, Stella. Your dad and Tom will be pissed and you won't be able to come on the tour," Aubree warned.
"What they don't know won't kill them," I told her.
Turned out that with tonight being Friday as well as the night of the party, it meant Dad was taking Mom out for a date. Leaving Tom and I to watch Liam and Noelle. I was dressed into my smoking hot party outfit and I hid it under my kimono robe he got for me on his last trip to Japan.
"You're hiding something Stella," Liam suspected.
"No I'm not, now go play your video games with Tom," he listened to me without question.
Noelle was already in bed and Tom was distracted by Liam. So I grabbed my heels and snuck out with my house keys to the house next door where I asked Bryce to wait for me so he could take me to his party.
Once I got into his house I could smell the beer and pot. It hit me like a freight train. I followed Bryce to the kitchen and he gave me a beer. I took a sip and instantly cringed at the aweful taste. How can Dad handle this crap. I thought to myself.
A couple beers later I got a phone call. I checked my phone to find it was Jack calling me.
"Hello," I ansered, trying my hardest not to slur.
"Stella, I've been trying to get you to drop our rope ladder for 45 minutes. Where are you," he asked. Shit.
"I'm out," I told him.
"I thought you had to stay home to help Tom watch Liam and Noelle," he asked.
"Tom let me off the hook tonight," I slurred. Damnit, I'm screwed.
"Did you go to Bryce the Jerk Face's party? Damn it Stella, Tom and your dad are going to rip you a new one. I'm coming to get you. Don't touch another cup of beer and stay away from the pot heads," he groaned angrily before hanging up on me. I think I just blew it with my best friend and my chances to go out on tour this summer.
I went outside of the loud house into the cool evening air. The sensation of the cool breeze made my head spin. I sat down on the front porch steps, waiting for my best friend and dreamy crush to come get me. I found him, but he was walking along side Tom and my dad. I gulped, knowing I was in major trouble.
"Stella Marie," my dad boomed as he got closer to me. I stood up and hung my head in shame.
"You really did it this time, Stell. I can't bail you out this time," Tom said as Dad grabbed hold of my arm and dragged me to the car where my pissed off mother waited.
"I'm disappointed in you, Stella," Jack sounded so defeated and disappointed in me.
"I can smell the beer on you Stella. I have no idea what to do with you anymore. Until further notice, you are not going on the summer tour and you are grounded. No band practice for a month. Take her place for now Tom," Mom yelled, she was worse than Dad with her anger.
Once we got home, dropping Jack off at his place on the way, I went straight to my room with Tom following behind me. I plopped down on my bed, watching the ceiling spin as I slipped my heels off.
"I can't believe this Stella. You really out did yourself. Now you can't go on the tour and have no choice but to go to Uncle Micah's. I can't bail you out this time. I'm sory," Tom hugged me before he left, his head hanging low with diappointment.
I had to go and screw everything up with going to that party. Dad is so mad at me and I disappointed him. He'll never forgive me for this. I just know it.
