The white streak

All I said was hi and by his expression you would of thought I’d just murder his entire family. What was he think, god he probably thought I was a right weirdo. I just randomly walk up to him, what if he things I’m just taking the piss, Fuck I just want to tell him how I feel so he knows I’m not trying to completely mug him of. He just stared at me for a good few seconds before giving a small throat-cleaning cough.

“Umm H-h-hh- hey?” He muttered, Had I done something to make him this awkward or was he just not used to talking to anyone, this wasn’t the jack I’d met a while ago, he seemed so timid and afraid now, I could see in his eyes something was bugging him, I sure hope it wasn’t my fault.

“You looked a little yano, lonely I just wanted to see if you were okay?” I know it wasn’t my place to ask what was on his mind but I couldn’t help myself, I wanted to know about him, his fears, his past times, his favorite flavored chewing gum, I don’t care, I wanted to be apart of his life! He seemed to relax a little tilting his head and smiling before swiftly snapping out of whatever daydream he was in, he was just so cute!

“Oh? Me? Yea, I’m fine just listening to some blink-182 haha” He gave off a small chuckle and a half hearted smile, again I know it isn’t my place to care, but he really didn’t look happy, I couldn’t help look past the false smile plastered on his face and see a sad kid looking for freedom, he looked like he was trying to act casual but just looking a little awkward. Bless.

After a second or two of deep thought I realized what he’d just said… Blink-182 Oh Jeez he was already amazing in my eyes, and now this!

“Oh nice! I love blink me and Vic have the poster up in our dorm room,” I said just a little too abruptly, I didn’t want to patronize him, but I didn’t want to scare him by being my usual loud and confident self. And the more information he knows about me the better I suppose, then he might feel more comfortable. He looked a little stunned, but in an oddly charming way, I really wasn’t sure what to say next, the silence was eating me alive

Just as jack opened his mouth to say something I jumped in to cut the awkwardness before I noticed.

“So who do you share a dorm with?” I said quickly stuttering a little at the end before calmly saying

“Sorry were you about to say something”

Jack just stud in silence slowly shaking his head whilst giving that sad half hearted smile again, I couldn’t really help but pity the poor lad, he was so lonely

“Uh… Um… I don’t share a dorm with anyone, well I did, but he only slept in that bed like twice and said he was moving out the room and not to tell anyone, so it’s just me now” He said, as he looked at the floor holding his right arm and scuffing his shoe on the floor, He really was alone, wasn’t he? I thought. Oh god I couldn’t help myself, I had to say it!

“Well if you ever get lonely just come and find me I’ll probably be on the quad” I smiled and slowly blinked as we just shared eye contact for a few seconds and continued with general chit chat, he seemed so scared of me, very unlike the first time we met.
