Good as Gone.

East, then West.

Hello?

"Alexander William, what it wrong? What happened? Who is hurt? Is everyone okay? Did something happen-?" He had to scream into the phone for me to hear and cut me off.

DEVON! Calm down, just relax. Everyone is fine I promise.

"Well then why did everyone ring me a bunch?" I said with my accent still kind of on and with an edge in my voice.

Well we were out drinking, and Jack was missing you so he called and when you didn't answer him I tried calling you. Zack then tried but you didn't answer any of us so you had us a little worried, Zack was really scared that you were kind of second guessing the whole long distance. So he stopped drinking and went back to the hotel. I tried you one more time before I gave up, knowing you would call us back.

Is that my baby girl?
Jack's muffled voice came through the phone.

Yeah, you're too drunk to talk to her right now though Jacky. I gotta go now, we are getting into a cab. Seriously call Zack, we can't deal with another relationship trauma.

The call ended without another word and I was nervous out of my mind to call Zack. I was scared I was going to let my surprise come out. I picked up my phone regardless.

"Zacky, babe?"

Devon, I-I am so scared. Please just-t tell m-me you won't leave me.
My hear dropped when I heard his broken voice crying. A wave of nervousness washed over me and I wondered what he had done to make him think I would leave him. I am just going out of my mind right now, I miss you more than anything and I don't know, I just can't breathe. The tour, the distance it all just seems like too much so fast. I sounded like an panic attack, of which I was all too familiar with. I wanted nothing more to hold him tight in my arms and never let him go.

"Zack honey breathe, please. Just try to relax, I promise everything will be okay. I love you so much darling, I genuinely see the rest of my life by your side. I love you with all my heart. I love the way you smell when we cuddle up for a mid-afternoon nap. I love your family. I love every single thing about you and I cannot imagine my life without you. We can do this darling, I will see you whenever the Baltimore or New York show is. Everything is going to work out babe. I love you and I am really sorry I didn't answer tonight but please just know that I miss you too babe. I would never leave you, without you I would fall apart." Tears brimmed my eyes and my feelings overwhelmed me. I was heartbroken that he was so upset and I could do nothing from here.

Thank you Devon, I love you so much. I am sorry that I doubted you but I just saw other couples out together and thought about you. I didn't plan to miss you this much, I thought I was going to have to be strong to help you. You mean the world to me Devon, I would hate myself if this distance came in between us.

"It wont baby, I promise everything is okay. We are going to be okay Zack, I love you and that is all that matters." I spent the next half hour talking to him and reassuring him everything is going to be fine. We talked about the dinner tomorrow, the shop, their tour, my school. I asked their plans for tomorrow and they said they were free until a show at a small venue around seven. I smiled, so excited to see him tomorrow. We laughed and teased each other like we were sitting on the couch together. Exhaustion finally hit me after we ended the call and I turned onto the road, driving home.

My parents were long gone and dead asleep when I got home so I kept quiet, hoping they wouldn't wake up and make me explain my appearance. Luckily I got to my room and took off the wig and make up, found some pajamas and headed to the bathroom to shower. I relaxed as the hot water ran over me, easing my sore muscles. I changed into my pajamas and washed my face and brushed my teeth before heading to bed.

I crawled in bed with a comforting feeling that I would not sleep alone tomorrow and that I
had a lot of fun tonight as Danni.

~

"Devon?!" My mom screamed. I pulled the covers over my head and tried to keep sleeping but was rooted out of sleep when she opened my door. "Devon? What are you doing in here? I have been looking for you all morning. I need your help setting up for dinner, get out of bed it is half past noon already."

I rolled back over, my body felt like a brick of exhaustion. I stretched out and realized I was not in my room, I was in Alex's bed. I remember getting in my bed last night but nothing else. I shrugged and got up and made his bed before I went downstairs. I poured myself a cup of coffee that my mom had made and thanked her for it. I sat down and breathed in the smell of all the welcoming foods.

"How did you end up in Alex's bed sweetie?" she asked looking at me.

"I am honestly not sure, my bed looked slept in. I know I went in there after I showered but as soon I fell asleep I don't remember waking up." I shrugged.

"You must have been sleep walking again. I remember after either of you would have a nightmare you would sleep walk to the other and crawl in bed with them. Alex did it after he and Lisa broke up a couple times."

"Oh yeah, or that time he and Jack dragged me to see a scary movie. I did not sleep alone for a week." I laughed at the memory.

"Well Jack's mom is coming over shortly. Rian and Zack's parents shouldn't be long after that. The boys agreed to stay in the living room and try to get dad to understand football again. I don't really need your help but you shouldn't sleep that late anyway."

"Yeah I didn't realize I was so tired, plus I didn't get to sleep until late so that didn't help."

"Devon!" Joyce yelled, her voice echoing through the kitchen. I stood up and hugged her greeting Jack's dad, Bassam as well. I excused myself to go get dressed and found myself just sitting in bed instead. I went through my dresser and found a pair of shorts and a couple tops that would look okay. I packed my bag to come home with mostly sweatpants and lazy clothes because I didn't plan on going out, just staying home and trying to relax. So I unpacked my bag and repacked it for California. I started a Green Day's 'Dookie' CD and took my hair out of a bun. I started to braid it when there was a knock at my door.

"Come in!" I yelled over the music. Soon enough Cass and Lisa came in, shutting the door behind them. I turned back to my vanity and continued braiding my hair as they made themselves comfortable sitting on my bed.

"How excited are you?" Cass asked.

"I mean after last night I am pretty nervous." I said as I finished my braid and started some light makeup.

"What happened last night?! Is something wrong? What did they say?" Cassadee sat straight up, her voice worried.

"I was doing something, lost track of time and Zack had a panic attack. They all called me and I didn't have my phone on me but I called them back and everything is okay. Plus they have a show tonight and have no idea I am coming. I just told them dinner starts when Im getting on the plane so they wont wonder why I cant call. I will call them before I get on the plane and say good luck and to have them call me after."

"Sounds like you have everything planned out." Lisa laughed as she picked up a CD and played it.

"Yeah I am nervous about flying a little because I have never gone alone before but I know everything will be fine." I picked out a long sleeve white shirt and put a leather jacket over it with some black skinny jeans and my all white high-top Vans. I ditched my normal 'light makeup' look and did a smokey eye makeup. I packed a red lipstick to put on when I got off the plane. I shoved the last of my clothes in my bag and headed downstairs. I left my two bags by the door because Cass and Lisa were taking me straight to the airport as soon as we finished eating.

We walked into the kitchen and my mouth began watering immediately. I turned to look at the adults sitting at the table, my mom holding a smile ear to ear. I smiled and the girls and I sat down. We all held light conversation, mostly the adults asking about my work and college plans for my friends as well. Dinner was a blur I was just so anxious to get out of here I could not think straight. After two plates of food, four glasses of red wine and a slice of pie, I was stuffed. I helped starting my mom clean up the dishes, but she basically kicked me out.

"No Devon, you have a concert to get to after all and a plane to catch. Go, get out of here. Your father and I will pick you up next week at the airport. I love you but go!" She laughed as she chased me around with a dish towel in hand and her hands on her hips.

"Thank you for everything mom, I love you." I tackled her with a hug and went off to find my dad, who was in the living room watching soccer, or football, whatever it was called. "Hey dad," I said as I sat in his lap.

"Hey pumpkin shouldn't you get going?"

"Yeah I am just about to leave. I came to say goodbye." I smiled as I hugged him.

"Okay kiddo, make sure those boys take care of you, be careful and I will see you next week." We stood up and hugged again, him kissing the top of my head. I giggled and found Cass and Lisa waiting for me by the door with smiles that matched my own.

"Bye mom! Bye Dad!" I yelled and we walked outside. I was shaking but couldn't stop smiling, a blush covered my cheeks from the wine I drank. Lisa drove my car, me in the backseat and Cass taking over the radio. I decided now was going to be the best time to call the guys, it was one in the afternoon there so it was probably the best time.

"Hey Lex," I smiled.

Hey Devon, how does the food smell?

"Fucking delicous. I am stoked," I giggled. "Already downed some wine so it is going to be a good night."

Sounds like it, we are at sound check right now and setting up. Its at The Regent in Los Angeles, its a smaller venue but it is rad. I am stoked.

"Oh sweet, how is Zack today? We talked for a while last night and he seemed better."

Yeah he is quiet as usual but not sad and moping around.

"Thank god, I was so worried about him last night, he was having a panic attack and he didn't even realize."

Oh geez, I can talk to him about it. I know that is pretty scary especially if he hasn't had one before.

"Okay, thanks Alex. Can I talk to Zack real quick before I eat, I know I am probably going to pass out immediately after eating." We were about five minutes from the airport now so I didn't have a lot of time. "Hey Zacky."

Hey babe, hows the food smell?

"Why did you both ask me that? Do you really miss a home cooked meal that much?"

Yeah we take what we can get here, also I am sorry about freaking out last night I don't know what happened.

"Don't be sorry babe, I was going to ask how you were feeling today. A panic attack isn't something you can control easily even if it is your first time. I just called so I could talk to you guys quick before I eat, I dont have a lot of time," Lisa pulled over and parked aside the curb and they both turned back to me. "My mom is looking for me right now, I am hiding in Alex's room."

Oh darling, its alright. Just go and I will call you after the show, that way you have time for a food coma nap.

I laughed at how well he knew me and could not wait to make him not call me later. "Okay babe, I love you so much. Good luck at your show, talk to you later. Bye Zack." I hung up the call and looked at the girls, "They have no fucking clue." I smiled and hugged them from the backseat. "I love you guys, see you in a week." With that I grabbed my carry on and my duffel bag, looking at the clock I realized I only had thirty minutes to get through security. I ran to the front counter, checked my bag in and paid for my ticket. I ran with my backpack on one shoulder and made it to security ten minutes, after getting lost once.

Once I got to the gate they just began boarding so I got in line behind an elderly couple. I found my seat next to a window and set up my iPod on shuffle, relaxing and keeping to myself. I sat in a row of three seats with only a business looking woman taking the isle seat, leaving a seat in between us. As take off began I popped in a piece of gum and felt myself falling asleep rather quickly.

I was shaken awake by some turbulence and began reading my book for school about the aspects of music business. I got a good way through the book before we started landing and I realized that I slept for most of the flight. I was so out of my mind nervous. I checked the time and the show was just starting. I figured I could go to the merch stand and see Vinny and ask him to hold onto my bags so I wouldn't have to drag them around.

I hailed a cab and told him the address of the venue and held light conversation as we made our way through LA traffic. I decided to call Neil when we hit some heavier traffic. We didn't talk long, just checking up on each other. He had lawyers over to track down Courtney and get full custody of Layn. I wished him luck and he did the same for me. I called the shop to see how Nick was doing but just left a message for him because he was doing the last consult of the day and then was closing up shop.

We finally made it to the venue half an hour later and I thanked the driver, paying him as well. I got in line as paid for my ticket, but I went to go through security they wouldn't let me get in with my bags because it was a safety precaution. I asked if I could just collect them after the show but they gave me a really hard time.

"Come on guys," I huffed. "I just got off a plane from Baltimore to see these guys."

"That is some dedication-"

"Call Flyzik!" I shouted in sudden realization. Also pretty annoyed at this point.

"Huh?" Jeff the bouncer was dumb struck with the name.

"All Time Low is on stage by now, call Flyzik up here." This way the boys wouldn't ask why Matt had to disappear, even if he did it on a regular basis. "It's the tour manager, call him. He knows me."

"We hear that all the time miss-"

"I don't fucking care! I am exhausted, jet lagged and I want to see my brother and my boyfriend! They are in the fucking band!" I was shouting as the last tickets were sold and the doors were closing.

"Devon?" I turned when I heard a familiar voice call my name. I ran up, tackling Vinny with a hug thankful for once his smoking habit paid off for him to be outside at this opportune moment.

"You wonderful, cigarette addicted, asshole! I love you so much!" I shouted.

"What the hell are you doing here? Have you seen the guys yet?" He asked as he set me down, clearing me with security. We walked back inside and the music started to best through my chest, causing adrenaline to fuel my every move.

"The guys have no idea, I came as a surprise. I landed like an hour ago. I called my boss and took the entire week off instead of just the weekend." I beamed as we entered the venue, body to body just like Fletcher's, wide open space with a bar on one side. I sighed as we returned to the merch stand. Setting my bags down I pulled out money and my fake ID. The affects of the wine helped lull me to sleep on the plane but were long gone now. I ordered a double Jameson and ginger ale before I made my way to the bathroom. Relieved my makeup was still flawless, I stretched out my muscles from the still sitting in the plane and the cab. I downed my first drink and applied my red lipstick. I ordered another drink and when I got to the merch stand, Matt was there too.

"Matty!" I yelled over the boys talking, still unaware of my presence. I hugged Matt and faced my boys on stage.

"Hey girl! So good to see you" I smiled, my face guilty. "They have no idea do they?" Matt asked looking down at me.

"Not a fucking clue!" I laughed. A proud moment over came me, they looked damn good up there on stage. I knew it was where they were meant to be. I smiled and sat down and hummed along to Break Out, Break Out! as I watched Vinny sell CD after CD and even a couple t-shirts.

"Hey Vinny! Can I get a t-shirt?"

"Yeah but I am not letting you pay for it."

"Okay fine, its a tip then." I winked as I put money into his hand and held out the shirt in front of me.

"Okay, wow thank you all for coming out to see us tonight! We are All Time Low if you're new here. On a whim of good luck Hopeless took a chance on us boys from Baltimore. We just released our first album, now while you can't take us home with you, you can pick up our CD from Vinny at the merch table in the back." Alex spoke and pointed to the table in the back. I nearly spilled my drink as I dodged under the table, hoping he didn't see me. He continued talking to Jack on stage, so I am guessing he didn't. Jack made a couple dick jokes and Zack remained pretty quiet. I looked up at that curly headed boy who held my heart in his.

"You two are disgustingly in love," Vinny told me as he watched me watch Zack. I giggled and punched him in the arm. I pulled my hair out of its braid and messed with it a bit before I sat back down and the guys started a cover of Basket Case by Green Day. I sang along and got lost in the rest of their performance. They did amazing and I clicked back into reality just as Alex started speaking again.

"So hey guys this is our second to last song and it means a lot to me. I co-wrote it with my gorgeous sister, who by the way is way more talented than any of us. It is about a pretty personal experience that we went through together. This song goes out to her, out on the east coast." Lullabies began and I laughed at his last statement. Vinny even looked back at me and laughed. They played flawlessly and I sang along with other people in the crowd as well. I downed my drink and went to get another.

I waited at the bar for my drink and felt a hand snake around my waist. I turned around immediately, with fists balled. I faced a tall, tanned and handsome guy.

"Hey sweetheart, how are you?" The smirk on his face as he raked my body up and down with his eyes disgusted me. I pushed him off without another word and he cussed me out before turning away in his drunken stupor. I got my drink and returned to the safety of the merch stand.

"We are All Time Low, this is it for us. Thank dudes and ladies for coming out tonight, we will be at our merch stand for a while after this if you want to say hi! Stick around ladies and gents for Dashboard Confessional, they fucking rule. Peace out guys, this is Jasey Rae!" The last song rang out through the venue with cheers and screaming as well. The crowd was full of energy as they rocked out too.

"They were made for this you know," Matt said as he returned, putting an arm around my shoulders.

"Yeah I know, I think I have always known." I smiled and leaned into him. The lights dimmed as they finished the song and I shot up looking at Vinny. "Do not fucking ruin this Vinny. Do not let him ruin this," I threatened pointing a finger at Matt. "I will kill both of you." I said as I downed my last drink and ran away into the sea of people with my new shirt in hand.

A line had formed in no time and I kept my head down trying to blend in with the masses. I saw the boys, smiling and laughing while taking pictures and talking to fans. It took everything in me to not run and attack them right there. I bounced up and down anxiously as we waited in line. I was about ten people away from the table when they apologized and returned back stage. I looked at Vinny and he nodded his head, telling me to go after them. I pushed people twice my size out of the way as I ran and followed their shadows. I gave it my all and they were always just out of reach. I threw myself into the same guy that had hit on me which caused him to fall into a couple other people. Finally a clear path. I lunged forward with everything I had.

"Hey I am a hug fan and I really love you guys, I was just wondering if you could sign my shirt?!" I shouted. It was like a movie when I touched Zack's shoulder, everything turned to slow motion. He turned so did the rest of them. I felt so small in that moment of exhaustion after fighting with everything I had to get here. I felt his hands on either side of my face before I even saw him move. His lips crushed over mine with an over whelming force and I pulled my body closer to his. I threw my arms around his neck and pulled him into me, he lifted me in the air and I wrapped my legs around his waist. The entire world faded away around me and I felt like I was floating with all the noise around me turned fuzzy. Alex, Jack and Rian soon joined the hug as well, their arms just feeling like a warm breeze compared to Zack's figure that was so tangible and solid. I didn't want to let go. I felt hot tears wet my face and still didn't detach from the kiss. I felt whole for the first time in weeks, I wasn't busy or working. My mind was clear and I was me again.

"Devon," he whispered against my lips when we finally pulled apart.

"Zachary," I smiled and placed a gentle kiss to his lips. He set me down but did not let me go. I turned to Alex, tears in his eyes. I smiled and jumped onto him. "I missed you Lex."

"I missed you too Dev," he sang as he held me close to him.

"My turn!" Jack yelled as he scooped in his arms and ran back stage. Zack and Alex yelled after us but didn't chase him. He set me down as we rounded a cement corner. "Devon! How could you not tell me! I am very hurt right now!" His voice echoed everything he joking yelled. He couldn't take himself seriously and laughed, pulling me into a hug.

"Come on Jack, we all know you are the worst with secrets." I teased and turned to Rian, Zack and Alex who had followed the yelling. "Hey Rian!" I said hugging him tightly.

"Hey little one," he laughed, taking me into his arms and ruffling my hair.
I turned back to Zack's side and he put an arm around my shoulders as I snaked my arm around his waist. "Surprise," I said lightly.

"That was one hell of a surprise," Matt interjected, Vinny right behind him.

"Wait you didn't know either?" Jack yelled.

"No one here knew Jack. I bought the ticket at three am this morning. I wasn't going to tell anyone either, it worked out much better as a surprise." I laughed. I leaned into Zack, smiling with sore cheeks. We took some pictures and I followed them back to their dressing room, relaxing and they started drinking. After they had cleaned up and weren't as sweaty, we climbed some stairs to the upstairs lounge.

I went to the bar to get another drink before the next set started and returned to the boys. I sat in Zack's lap with my arm around his neck and his around my waist pulling me close.

"So this is what you guys do most days?" I questioned, curious of what my life might become.

"Yeah pretty much, we follow Matt's orders and occasionally play music here and there, any other time we are sleep or drinking." Alex laughed.

"Well that goes for you and Jack," Rian cut in.

"Fair enough," I said, putting my hands up in surrender. I sipped my drink, leaned into Zack and let my eyes close. I listened to the next band that came on, they were really good and put on a great show. I excused myself to go to the bathroom and finished my drink without getting another one, trading it for a bottle of water instead.

I came back and continued watching the show, snuggling into the warmth of Zack's arms. He kissed the top of my head and I looked up at him smiling. I leaned up and we kissed again, less urgent but with the same level of passion. He looked down at me with a smirk on his
face, "Whatcha say we take you home and get you into bed before you fall asleep here?"

"I am (kiss) okay (kiss) with (kiss) that." We got up, exhaustion hitting me like dead weight, and I told the guys to not be out too late. "I want to actually spend time with you guys tomorrow, plus I might even make breakfast." I kissed and hugged Alex goodbye and waved to the other two. Zack and I walked away hand in hand, the guys yelling cat calls behind us, making me laugh. I walked out into the venue from backstage and headed over to Vinny. When I got there he was taking down a display before he turned around to see me.

"Hey Dev, heading back to the room?" He asked as I picked up my bags from under the table.

"Yeah, I am pretty exhausted actually. I slept on the plane but jet lag is kicking my ass." I shrugged. "I'm here all week, see ya around Vinny." I ruffled his hair and walked back to my boyfriend. He stood with his hood up, watching me with a smile on his face. We walked out the front door and I nearly ran into Jeff, but he didn't seem to recognized me.

"Hey Jeff," Zack started.

"Hey man, great set tonight!" He boomed, then looked at me without a word.

"Thanks man, have a good night!" Zack said shaking his hand before we started walking away.

"I told you so!" I shouted at Jeff. I smiled and looked back at Jeff who was just laughing and shaking his head. Zack took my bags from me and stepped out on the road to call a cab.

Their hotel was only ten minutes away but I nearly managed to fall asleep on the way there. I kept my eyes closed when the car stopped moving and heard Zack pay before he took me in his arms. He held me with ease as he made his way through the hotel, even holding me with one arm when he used the key card to unlock their suite.

I fought the sleep hard as he set me on the bed. I sat up and smiled at him weakly, he showed me the basic lay out, who's rooms is who's. I unpacked my toiletries and took my makeup off, brushed my teeth and pulled my hair into a messy bun. As much as I really wanted to reconnected with Zack in an intimate way I was just so tired and he respected that. I pulled out some underwear and stripped myself naked. I felt a pair of arms wrap around me, making me jump.

"You are utterly perfect and stunningly beautiful." Zack whispered into my neck, making me blush. I turned to face him and kissed him softly. He reached behind me and pulled one of his sweaters over my head. I cursed that man in my head, he was so perfectly imperfect; his lopsided grin, his crooked nose piercing, his curly hair, and the way he looked at me like he would never stop. He kissed the top of my head and scooped me into his arms. Then throwing me onto the bed, making me scream.

"I love you Zachary," I whispered into his chest as I curled into his warm frame. I loved calling him by his full name, it suited him and I like that I was the only one that would call him that. I fell asleep to him humming and scrolling circles into my arm.

~

I woke up slowly, relaxed and in no rush to start my day. I crawled out of Zack's arms and pulled my reading glasses out of my bag along with my book. I made my way to the kitchen to start a pot of coffee, sitting on the counter with my legs crossed as I waited for it to brew. I filled a cup and returned to Zack's room. I covered his face with a pillow and opened the curtains, revealing something absolutely stunning. The city was blanketed in fog and lit with the rising sun, making everything a bright orange. I sat down in the armchair and began to read. It was still early so I had a bit of time before I needed to start breakfast. I got a couple chapters in when I looked over and saw Zack waking up.

"Morning babe," I cooed. I set my book on the bedside table and climbed back into bed. Zack hummed as he crawled in between my legs and rested his head on my stomach. I ran my fingers through his hair, playing with his ringlets. After a few minutes he climbed up further to where he was basically laying on me and kissed my face. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back. He rolled off of me but kept his leg across mine.

"Mrnin-babe." He mumbled into my neck.

"How did you sleep?" I asked, kissing his forehead.

"Never better, I got to hold you all night." He said smiling and sitting up so I could look in his eyes. The rising sun coming through the window, hitting his face and making his eyes glow a bright green. I raised my hand to the side of his face and held my world in my hands. He leaned in and placed a tender kiss to my forehead. "I love you so much Devon."

"I love you too Zachary. Let's go make some breakfast." I got up and grabbed my coffee so I could refill it. I padded through the small living room and into the kitchen and began breakfast. The suite they were living in for the meantime didn't have everything so Zack grabbed a shirt and offered to go to the store and get everything we needed. While I waited for the rest of the ingredients I decided to relax for once. I took my coffee and sat on the balcony attached to the main area. I took in the view and relaxed to the familiar sound of angry traffic. Zack returned from the store and I finished the batter for pancakes. I cooked full two plates before Rian came and joined us. The two boys ate and I left to go to wake up Alex and Jack, they were the only ones plagued to share a room.

Light snoring could be heard just outside the door. I opened it and both boys were each in their beds half covered in sheets, most of their shirtless bodies hanging off the twin bed. I sat down on the bed next to Alex, who was sleeping with his mouth wide open. I shook his shoulders a bit before I spoke, "Lex, wake up." He stirred a little but just put a hand to my mouth so I wouldn't speak. I pushed him off and all he did was pull me into bed with him. I crawled out of him arms and ripped the sheets off him, revealing his body in just boxers. "Get up now Lex, I didn't fly over here just for you to sleep all day." I stepped over and pulled the sheets off Jack as well, who was laying on his stomach thankfully because he was totally naked. "Oh my god Jack," I screamed before turning back to Alex, crossing my arms and waiting for him to get up.

"I'm up," he laughed looking over at Jack. "Well if I thought I was going to catch you naked with anyone it would be Zack." He shook his head and reached over pulling on some shorts.

"Very funny, now lets go. Jack get up!" I shouted before leaving the room, dragging Alex with me.

"Yeah Cass said she knew us- Oh hey Lex, how is the hangover?" Rian said as we entered the kitchen.

"How late were you out last night?!" I said shocked as I looked at my brother. He looked at me, shrugging his shoulders as he shoved food into his mouth.

"So, as I was saying," Rian trailed looking at me. "I guess Saturday Cass and her cousin went to Fletchers for some girl she was into," and as Rian spoke my heart stopped I'm pretty sure. I didn't want anyone to know it was me, especially the boys. I knew they would be supportive but I also knew they would push me to pursue it, and while I thought that could be a possiblity I was just too afraid to step on stage as myself. "The singer canceled and John put together some band to cover because the show sold out and he didn't want to lose money."

"So why is this relevant again?" Jack asked with a mouth full of pancakes.

"Because she is damn hot! They said she put on a killer performance and you never would have guessed the band only just formed." Rian said as he flipped his phone open and showed them all pictures of Danni Black, oblivious that she was standing right next to them.

"Damn, and she said she knew us? Went to school with us?" Alex questioned.

"Yeah she closed performing Coffee Shop," Rian said laughing in disbelief. "She said she could shred on all their instruments too."

"Sounds like a babe," Jack said which thankfully ended the conversation.

"So what do you guys have to do today?" I thought, thinking that we could go shopping or to the beach. Zack came up behind me, wrapping his arms around me.

"Hey have you got the call from Flyzik?" He asked Rian.

"Nope not yet, its barely nine thirty, Hopeless just opened so it should be soon." Rian picked up the plates and put everything in the sink.

"Hello? My question still stands," I said loudly feeling left out of what they were talking about.

"We have an interview, a meeting and a photo shoot today at Hopeless," Alex answered me.

"We go in whenever Matt calls us. So until then we usually just hang, we can't go far because of how bad traffic gets but we could definitely do something."

I smiled turning to face him and jumping up on the counter, pulling him in between my legs. "I am utter fine with doing absolutely nothing," I said kissing him.

"You guys are gross when you're like this," Jack butted in.

"Well I am sure you would be too if the person you loved wasn't next to you all the time." Zack retorted, making me blush. We decided to all just hang out in the suite like old times where we mostly sat in a comfortable, on and off silence, talking about music or dumb gossip. Alex and Jack played Call of Duty or Halo, while I read my book sitting with my legs across Zack's lap. Rian was working on something and Zack just sat leaning up against me watching them play the video game. Around eleven thirty Matt called so we all got dressed and headed to Hopeless.

I did very minimal makeup and wore some black shorts, my white Vans and a baggy red t-shirt that held the Fender logo, the front of it tucked into my shorts. I pulled my dark hair into a high bun and was leaving when Alex caught my tattoo behind my ear. "Hey you bitch, we said we would do this together." He yelled, pulling my arm back and pointing to the skull behind my ear.

"Look you two can fight on the way there," Rian yelled stepping in between my brother and I. "We need to go."

We all complied, made our way outside and hailed a cab. Rian gave the driver the directions to the studio and we were off. After a short fifteen minute drive we arrived and climbed out onto the sidewalk. I offered to pay but the boys covered it and we turned to go inside.

"ALEX! JACK! OVER HERE!" Someone shouted, we all looked at the source and were met with camera flashes. "WHOS THE LUCKY LADY?" One of them yelled over the others. Zack grabbed my hand and shielded my face from them with his body. Rian, Jack and Alex also took to make a human shield. I guessed they dealt with this daily.
