Good as Gone.

Masked.

I put my laptop away and realized that it had jumped to five in the morning. I got up and dressed myself to go for a run. I jogged around the familiar neighborhood and planned my day along the way. Breakfast with mom and dad, lunch with Zack's mom, maybe go out with the girls for dinner and update them on my plans. Sunday was a day of mostly cooking and packing. My heart rate increased from excitement and exercise. I returned home to my mom making tea in the kitchen.

"Hi mom," I breathed as I chugged a bottle of water.

"Morning dear, do you fancy some tea?"

"Sure, keep it warm I am going to shower quick." I hauled myself upstairs and into the shower, my sore muscles embracing the heat. I hopped out and quickly dressed myself in some leggings, a red Glamour Kills tank top and a ivory sweater. I pulled my hair into a messy bun as I walked down stairs, preparing myself to break the news over breakfast. My mom had already started waffles and I was grateful. I poured myself a cup of tea and sat the opposite side of the counter as her, opening my notebook.

"I expected you to be sleeping in," she laughed as I stirred sugar into my tea.

"I thought this weekend I was going to do the same, but I guess with running the shop and helping Neil take care of the baby I am used to getting up early. Plus I try to run in the morning a couple times a week." I spoke as she continued cooking and I mulled over the papers for the shop; receipts, bookings, schedule, inventory and other things similar but nonetheless vital.

"Bringing some work home with you? You're so grown up already and you have barely been out of the house a few months."

"Yes mom, that tends to happen when I found myself running one of the most well known tattoo parlors in Brooklyn." I laughed, as did my father when he entered the room.

"Good morning girls," he rumbled as he kissed my head and kissed my mother as well. He made his way over to pour himself a cup of tea as well. We then all sat down, plates full of butter and waffles. Casual conversation ensued and we laughed. I was glad to be home.

"So I kind of have changed my travel plans." I began as I returned from refilling my tea.

"How so deary? Got to get back to that job of yours?" My dad laughed.

"Not exactly, I called my boss and asked for the rest of the week off because I am going to fly out and surprise the guys. My flight is Sunday night right after dinner. They have a show that day and I should get there in time for that." I expected them to yell about hastily spending money but they simply looked at each other and burst into laughter. I was terrified. What were they thinking? My heart began to race and I rubbed my palms on my pants.

"You owe me twenty pounds Peter!" My mom yelled, still laughing.

"What is going on?"

"I won," mom said.

"Wait you guys bet on me cancelling on you?!" I shouted, nearly laughing myself.

"Yes. Honestly I didn't think you were going to come here first, to which I was wrong and now
I owe your mother something. Thanks for that kiddo." My dad laughed as he explained the insanity at breakfast, ruffing up my hair as he collected the dishes and began washing them.

"It was not only us if that eases you at all. Lisa and Cassadee were in on it too. Along with the boys' mums." My mother protested, as if to make herself look innocent.

"All of you are crazy," I laughed. I excused myself as my phone rang, "Hey Neil."

Good morning darling, how is Baltimore?

"Its great, short lived." I laughed.

What do you mean? Miss me too much already?

"Actually no, but I was hoping for the rest of the week off? I am kind of hoping to get some
west coast sun in."

Called it, and of course I will set it up right away. Have fun, stay save little one.
He laughed.

"Goodbye Neil, kiss Layn for me. Thank you again," I smiled.

Gotcha deary, will do.
I heard crying on the other end and the line cut out. Layn was probably just waking up so I thought nothing of it. I returned down to my parents in the living room who were drinking tea and reading, my father the newspaper and my mom her book of the week. I joined them and continued looking over the papers for the parlor. I began to write down the order of what supplies we needed, when there was a knock at the front door. My mother got up and answered it, revealing some girl scouts. She turned them away after buying a single box of cookies.

I turned back to my work and the three of us sat in a peaceful silence for a while. I picked up my work around eleven and retreated to my room to get ready for lunch with Zack's mom. I did a light face of makeup that only accentuated my natural features. My features were more pronounced than Alex's which I guessed was my girl genetics. My cheekbones and jawline were evident but not too sharp, I had naturally thick brows but kept them groomed to a size and shape that suited me. I had a small nose compared to Alex but with a piercing on the left side I felt it was a cute size, perfectly accessorized. I took my dark hair down and coerced it into a braid. While Alex had quite medium brown hair, I had an unruly mop of thick nearly black hair.

I did a thin winged eyeliner and brushed on some mascara. I dosed my cheeks with some blush and finished with a sheer lip gloss. I grabbed my phone, wallet and shoved them into my purse. I pulled on some socks to wear with boots and headed downstairs. I grabbed a bottle of water from the kitchen and made my depart after kissing mom and dad on the cheek.

I ran across the driveway, hopped into my car and drove over to Zack's house. I parked on the street so his mom would be able to drive out and let myself in like I had so many times before. The warm smell of hardwood floors and freshly brewed coffee welcomed me. I breathed in the familiarity of my boyfriends house and felt my nerves relax. My heart pained and I tensed again at the thought of Zack not being here to comfort me in his own home. I sighed and made my way towards the kitchen, finding his mom doing the dishes.

"Devon!" She yelled flinging suds everywhere. She took a moment to remove her gloves, drain the water and wipe her hands before crushing me into a hug. I hugged her back with some enthusiasm because I was genuinely happy to see her. Zack was normally around my house and I was over to his occasionally but I still had grown a relationship with his mother.
She was so sweet and understanding about pretty much anything and was just a pleasure to be around.

"Hey Miss Carla," I said softly with a smile on my face.

"Well I am going to put on some shoes and then we can go try the new burger place just off of Thames."

"Sounds great, I am just going to run upstairs real quick." I said as she left, then climbing the stairs to Zack's bedroom. I smiled as I walked into the room, greeted by socks strewn across the floor and his dresser drawers completely disheveled. I picked up the loose socks, throwing them in the hamper before making his bed and laying on it. I breathed in his scent and my entire body yearned for him; his strong arms around me pulling me closer in bed, his warm hands on my hips or his lips when they are nothing but gentle as he kisses me awake despite not being fully awake himself.

I shook the thoughts from my head and went over to his closet and grabbed a sweatshirt of mine that I was looking for. I knocked something over and a ton of pictures fell at my feet. I started picking them up until I noticed myself in them. They were pictures of no importance but held the essence of us in them. Most of them were taken when neither of us were looking. There was a couple when we would be playing a video game together, me sitting in between his legs and his arms around me. I found another where we were on the couch in Rian's garage. I was sitting in his lap with a guitar in my hands, completely focused on what I was doing and he was looking up at me with a face of pure infatuation. I picked through them and found more of us doing whatever or absolutely nothing, we were just looking at each other with nothing but love and it honestly was everything for me.

I blinked away the tears that were pooling in my eyes and shoved the pictures back into the shoe box that held them. I grabbed my sweatshirt and stole a maroon Vans sweatshirt of his. I walked back downstairs and met his mother at the door.

Lunch was uneventful but it was nice to spend time with her as well. We chatted about my work, about tour, and she joked about how her grand children were going to be in good hands. I protested that I was definitely having kids but was not ready at this place and time in my life. We walked along Thames street and shopped a bit in and out of the little shops that covered the street front. We drove separate which I was thankful for when she excused herself. I continued walking and came across my favorite music store.

"Hey Steve!" I yelled to the store manager. I was inhere quite often in high school so I was pretty familiar with the employees. Steve owned and managed the store after his dad passed away and left it to him. Steve was maybe five years older than me and worked at his dad's shop for as long as I can remember. With a head of black curls, a chiseled face full of freckles and a pretty nice build, he looked like he belonged in magazines and not selling them.

"Hey kiddo! How has the city been treating you?" He yelled back as he continued stocking shelves.

"It's okay, really busy I just stopped home for a couple days. I got time off work and took it before school started. I am flying out to LAX tomorrow night and surprising the guys at one of their shows." I shrugged as I started thumbing through CDs.

"Oh yeah I sold out of their album already, I have another box on its way but its real crazy to see how far you kids have come. I never thought I would be selling an album by kids that I grew up with. Where are you working up there though?" He laughed in disbelief at his thoughts and I shook my head.

"A lot of people still aren't sold on them being successful but they are entitled to their own opinions. I am helping my friend run his tattoo parlor, he has a newborn and started the shop all on his own so I am helping him watch the baby and working full-time there for now and switching around my schedule to be able to juggle school as well."

"Wow that sounds awesome, congrats on it all too. I have friends up there so next time I am in town I might stop and get some work." He said politely as he totaled up the items that I picked out. I pulled out the cash and paid, handing him a business card as well.

"Bang Bang Tattoo, gotcha. Thanks Dev, tell the boys I said congrats. Safe travels!" He shouted across the store as I walked out.

"Bye Steve!" I laughed to myself and returned to the warm air outside. I climbed back in my car and decided to call the girls updating them on my plans. Cass didn't answer so I called Lisa and thankfully she picked up.

"Hey Liss," I said into the phone as I started my car so the air conditioning would run.

Whats up Dev?

"What are you doing tonight? Down for some pizza and margaritas? Im craving a girls night plus I have some juicy gossip." I teased and laughed at the memories we started over pizza.

You gotta tell me the gossip here, I am tied up in some family shit tonight.

"Well that blows, I was hoping to see you before I leave," I sighed.

What I thought you were here till Tuesday!?

"Plans changed, I leave tomorrow for LAX. I am going to surprise the guys at their concert," I cheered in my own excitement.

Ugh I am jealous, seriously I have always wanted to go to California. When did this happen?

"This morning, I realized that my boss practically told me to take all week off and I have enough saved up so," I trailed without explaining the rest. "Plus I was at Zack's this morning and went through old pictures of us and had a sappy moment. I miss them more than I actually realized, I have just been so busy that I barely have time to know what I am thinking."

I get it though, I wont see my guy for a while too. Once in a couple weeks when he is in town and then when he gets back for good hopefully a month or two after that.

"Alright well I am going to see what Cass is doing. I will see you tomorrow night at dinner, you're invited as well as Cass because without the guys there I know that there will be way too much food leftover."

Bye Dev, love you mean it.

"Bye Liss, love you too." I hung up and started driving and tried calling Cass at the same time. After I ended up calling the wrong number twice I pulled over and got out, walking around the park until she answered.

Hey Dev, whats up?

"First off you are invited to dinner tomorrow night at my house. Second, what are you doing tonight?"

I am still packing for Florida, its really daunting not knowing what I will need and also trying not to over pack at the same time.
She laughed in frustration.

"Do you want to come over for a bit? I've got news," I smiled at the thought again. I sat down at a bench and got took in my surroundings, I didn't even realize I stopped at the skate park where Zack taught me how to skate.

I cant tonight, my cousin is here and wants to go a show for a singer she likes, you know I would invite you but it is already sold out. Anyway, please tell me your not pregnant yet and that you have some other news.

"Oh god no, we are all good. The news it that I am leaving tomorrow night for LAX."

WHAT?!
She screamed into the phone.

"I figured everything out. Called my boss, took the rest of the week off and I am going to surprise the guys at one of their shows."

Oh my god. So jealous. Its got to be gorgeous there.

"I know, but put it in perspective that Florida will also be gorgeous. Joking but yeah they play a show or two there so I am sure you will see them. But yeah, just a slight change in travel plans, I am so stoked though. My parents had a bet on it, that I would go out there." I laughed. We chatted a while longer departing until we saw each other tomorrow. So here I was stuck with absolutely nothing to do on a Saturday night. I began my drive home and turned down a back street and saw the familiar back doors of Fletchers opening. Fletchers was a local bar and the guys had starting preforming there in the middle of junior year.

I parked my car and ran over to the owner, who I became close with over the years. I would do sound check for the guys sometimes because they were late or left without thinking they needed one. As a band mother and sort off manager for the guys I did it to ensure success. I was singing some songs and tuning their guitars when I met John Fletcher. He applauded my voice and was blown away, saying he would come by for my set. When I told them I wasn't preforming he seemed put off that someone with my talent would hide it. "John!" I shouted, my voice echoing in the ally.

"Devon?!" He yelled, hugging me and spinning me around in his arms. He was well over ten years older than me but with a maturity of a twenty eight year-old, I fit in well with people older than me. "Wow darling you're so grown up! How are those boys? They still a handful?"

"Not my problem right now thankfully. They just finished their first album off in L.A." I laughed as he put me down and was in shock.

"Oh my goodness, send them my congratulations. What are you doing back here? Are you the solo performance tonight?!"

"Oh god no, I was just on my way home for the night-" I was cut off when his phone rang and he asked me not to go anywhere. I stood there for a moment, chatting with some of the crew members that I knew. He came back minutes later, frustrated as ever.

"That was my manager telling me the solo tonight fucking cancelled. With a sold out show too, some people have no brains." He sighed looking at the ground, then turned back to me with a glow on his face. "Devon-"

"No, I will not do it." I stated blankly.

"Oh come on you just said it yourself, you don't have plans tonight and you have the best set of pipes north of the Mason-Dixon." He pleaded.

"No John-"

"What if you kept the ticket sales? Use a stage name, nobody would know. Come sweetie, you would save my ass right now." He was begging, like actually down on his hands and knees. I thought about the possibility, it would be nice to have spending money off in L.A. Plus nobody has heard me sing, the few people that have are way out of town.

My gut dropped as the words left my mouth. "Fine."

So here I was, four hours later in the dressing room back stage, disguising myself to the maximum. I picked out my most note worthy features and did my best to cover them. I dug out my blonde wig from last Halloween that went down to my butt, and found a couple out of character wardrobe choices at a local thrift store. I wore a men's extra large silk button up that came to my mid thigh. Underneath that I wore a black velvet push up bra and some risky black lace socks that fell just under the shirt. Lastly I braided my hair flat and set the wig on top, gluing it down with some stuff from the hair salon. I chose some heavy dark makeup around my eyes and swiped on a black lipstick. I layered on some necklaces and pulled on my knee high black heeled boots.

My set list was mostly covers, it was the best they were going to get. I brought my laptop, keyboard and guitar with me and had already taught the provided band the last song, the rest they knew.

Set list for: DannĀ”Black

1. Bring Me To Life - Evanescence

2. The Rock Show -Blink 182

3.Basket Case - Green Day

4. Teenagers - MCR

5. Maps - Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs

6. Dirty Little Secret - All-American Rejects

7. Dance, Dance - Fall Out Boy

8. I Write Sins Not Tragedies - Panic at The Disco

9. Coffee Shop Soundtrack - All Time Low

I shook off the nerves as I waited side stage, jumping up and down. I did some small vocal warm ups and soon was greeted by John. "Devon? Is that you?!"

"Yupp, why is there something wrong? Does it look terrible?" My nerves raced and I stuttered over my words.

"No. Honestly, you look fucking hot. I cannot thank you enough for doing this, plus you might even have fun. Just relax, let loose! I gotta break the news that the band these people wanted to see aren't coming. So hopefully one look at you and they wont walk out the door immediately." He smiled and gave me a thumbs up as he walked out on stage.

"Well folks, I am the Fletcher that owns this place. So as I am about to break some bad news I ask you to not throw things at me because I will find you and ban you. I also ask you to not walk out, beers are a dollar to spot any inconvenience." He teased and light laughter came from the crowd. "I know you all came here for 'Miss Nothing' and she is not coming, to put it lightly. However, the show must go on. I would like everyone to put their hands together for a long time friend and colleague that is saving my ass tonight. While with make shift band has only covers for you, I promise you are going to want to stick around for her. Please welcome, Danni Black!!!" He left the stage empty without another word and shot me a thumbs up in my direction before disappearing.

The lights blacked out completely, as rehearsed, allowing us to get into position without anyone seeing me. The thrill started pounding through my chest and I thought, this is why the guys love it so much. I spoke into the microphone with a low voice, "Hello everyone, I know your broken that I am not what you came to see, but I promise your going to want to stay." I let silence fall as I played the keys to the first song. I sang and kept my voice light as a single white light flooded the stage and fell on me. I poured my guts into the song, my voice powerful and lively. I looked out at the crowd and smiled as I saw people dancing and singing along. I belted out the last notes and the cheers were deafening. Stage hands came, taking away my keyboard. I readjusted myself to face the crowd and as the shouting settled down a lot of cat calls were able to be heard.

"Well, well, I guess you guys are intrigued now. Alright, how are the ladies in here?" Queue screaming. "How about the guys, any dudes in here?" Queue cheering. "Good to know, well you can call me Danni, with an 'i'. Welcome to The Rock Show!" I shouted in a thick English accent, hoping to disguise myself even more, and the band started playing immediately. I danced around on the stage smiling, rocking out and worry free. We played through the song without a glitch and the crowd ate it up, a mosh pit starting and everyone else singing and dancing along. Cheers echoed through the small venue as we started Basket Case, I could hear the crowd over the speakers and pointed the microphone towards them singing in unity.

"Alrighty, I am glad you guys like me for more than just my looks." I winked towards the crowd as the song ended and the band drank some water. Cheers were the only response that I got and I smiled. "Okay guys, although I seem like I have my shit figured out, in reality none of us do. So with this song I might need your help. I'm not sure if you would know it is all, but if you do please do sing along." The lights dimmed to darkness again, I practically spat the lyrics out and the screaming was so loud when they heard the song. I sang and bounced around the stage, I was giving a performance after all. When the second verse came around I got to my knees and teased a couple drunk guys in the front.

Sex appeal, I realized, was the one thing male performers could not achieve as easily as women. The song ended on an abrupt note, I walked side stage to get my black stratocaster, lacing it around my shoulders. I returned to the microphone and received more cheering.

"What? Did y'all think that a girl couldn't sing and play? How about this," I teased in a low voice, doing my best to disguise myself if anyone was here that knew me. "Ten bucks for each person that doesn't think I can play all of the instruments here." Instantly hands full off cash shot in the air. "Okay wow guys, I am rather hurt. Pass it forward now, don't be a dick and pocket it, this will probably end up being my rent." I glanced over the crowd and cash started filling up the stage, I saw John at the bar who was sat next to someone. "Well I am going to play the guitar for this song and part of the next," I nodded to the band and they stepped off stage for a minute. "It isnt exactly super up beat but sing your hearts out for me!" I started the song Maps and played it perfectly with the band coming out when they were actually playing.

"Okay so for those of you who don't play guitar this is probably impossible. Then for those who do, lets be honest the intro to this song isn't super hard, but I still look better doing it." Queue cheers, and I began shredding the beginning of the riff which caused more screaming when they recognized the song. Another mosh pit opened up and people were bouncing on their feet singing. I dramatized the bridge of the song and was on my knees again but to the opposite side of the crowd, nailing the last note. I caught my guitar mid-air as Henry, one of the stage hands threw it to me to do the guitar solo in time with the lead guitarist. The crowd ate that shit up screaming over the speakers once again. I smiled out at the crowd, heavily breathing and taking a sip out of my water.

"Well as promised I am going to earn your money," I said taking off my shoes. I looked at Oliver and he traded up his spot behind the drums. I picked up the microphone and spoke to the crowd, "I meant every instrument."

I started slow and kept a solid beat but picked it up and felt my temperature rising, fighting it I pounded harder and the sea of strangers went wild. After a couple minutes of that I gave up and took a bow in front of the crowd and tossed the drum sticks back to Oliver.

I heard some guy in the crowd that I couldn't play bass and I was just hustling them. "While lying is the most fun a girl can have with her clothes on, you see I am wearing very little and I am going to have a lot of fun proving you wrong!" I yelled into the microphone laughing. Trip got down on one knee as if he was proposing to be with his bass. I accepted it giggling then strapping it around me and adjusting the strap. I turned to Oliver and he started a back beat and I slapped away at the instrument, the crowd laughing and cheering me on. I finished and flicked my middle finger in the direction that the comment came from.

"Alright, back on track now. I would like to thank you guys for staying around. I know we aren't exactly what you paid to see but shit happens and most of the time it is things we cannot control. But for tonight how about we let go of everything. Block your mind away from your life for the rest of the night. Forget the job you have to get to tomorrow. Forget the shitty ex-boyfriend or girlfriend. Forget how many drinks you have had. Forget next week's deadlines. For tonight, live now and fucking dance!" I shouted in a low growl. The drummer pounded away starting the next song which quickly opened up the pit. Dance, Dance was what the crowd did and it was fucking wild. I felt like I could feed off this energy forever. I sang with the crowd, both of us pouring our heart and soul into everything we had. I bounced around on stage while they collided with each other.

"Okay guys, we have two more songs-" unhappy sounds erupted from the crowd. "Hey well we can't just stay here forever." I shrugged. "You guys are going to need to help me out with the beginning of this next song, I promise you know it." The lights dimmed and the first chords were struck and screaming ensued. In time we all were screaming, without the assistance of microphones or instruments.

Oh, well imagine/ As I'm pacing the pew of a church corridor

And I cant help but to hear/ No, I cant help to hear an exchanging of words

'What a beautiful wedding/ What a beautiful wedding' says a bridesmaid to a waiter

'And, yes, but what a shame/ What a shame the groom's bride is a whore.'

The band started back up and word for word the crowd kept going. I loved going to concerts and live music, it created a sense of unity that in that one moment, you were apart of something. From now on I hoped that when the individuals in the crowd heard the songs they played they would remember this night. After tonight it wasn't just a song on the radio, it held memories. The crowd begged or more when the song ended and I was determined to go out with bang.

"Okay guys, this is our last song for you, I might probably stick around if someone wants pictures, because without picture proof it didn't happen right?" I laughed and they cheered. "I am not too sure that you guys are going to know this song, but if you don't I suggest you fucking learn it. The boys in this band are some awesome friends of mine and they are from here, some of their first performances were on this stage. I went to school with them and if you are near my age you probably did too. They just dropped their first studio album 'Put Up or Shut Up' and it is full of some wild jams. I dropped some copies at the bar if you are interested in checking them out. This is a song from that album, this is 'Coffee Shop Soundtrack' by All Time Low!" As soon as I said the name of the band there was a dull roar of I guessed people cheering that knew who they were. I caught my guitar in the air again and strapped it around my shoulders before rocking out the first riff. The crowd took to it pretty well and were dancing around having a blast. I thought I recognized someone in the faces but continued on nonetheless. We got to the bridge and I sang low, creating a mood. The song wasn't very long but when it did end the crowd would not shut up even after we left the stage.

I breathed heavy as the guys and I walked off stage, all chugged water bottles. We laughed and were coming off the high of the gig when John came around the corner at full speed.

"Devon! What the actual fuck was that!?" He shouted as he ran towards me. He hugged me at my hips and pulled me into the air, spinning me around. "The ally is full, we were turning people away because of a full capacity."

"What?" I shouted and my jaw dropped.

"You were fucking amazing, it was like you belonged there. Mesmerizing babe, absolutely mesmerizing. You saved my ass, all of you." He said motioning to the crew members turned musicians. I shook myself free of the nerves and adrenaline pumped through me. I felt exhausted but so full of energy at the same time and longed for a nice hot shower.

"Oh shit I got to go," remembering I promised to take pictures with people. I walked back towards the stage and motioned for some security. They stood in front of the stage and I walked back out into the light, causing a deafening cheers. "Hey guys, I can't stick around for long, gotta pull a Hannah Montana and get home to do Miley's homework. So my friends here are going to control you, one by one or a maximum group of three. All you gotta do is form a line in front of them and we will sort it out from there."

The masses started lining up and the drummer, Oliver, and the bassist, Trip, came back out to join me. "Hey Dev-Danni," Trip said as he put an arm around my shoulders.

"Careful now," I teased. The first people in line were a girl and her boyfriend. Next there was three girls out for one of their birthday's. Then there was a couple groups of college guys that were pretty drunk and only wanted a picture with me, safe to say that security threw them out. The faces and names soon became a blur with a familiar face here and there. It was late and the line was still pretty long so I announced to everyone that I could only have five more groups up with me. The not included masses left or congregated around the bar. I yawned and took another sip of my water as the previous group left and the new entered the stage. I took a double take and nearly spit out my water when I was turned to face Cassadee and her cousin.

I smiled as if nothing happened and her cousin filled the silence. "Oh my god, you were amazing! I came for Miss Nothing but what you did was way more fun!" She said as she hugged me, this girl couldn't have been more than fourteen. The guys and I took a picture with her as Cass stood off to the side looking not enthused, thankfully also not recognizing me.

"Do you want separate picture, or one with her?" Trip asked her.

"No it is really okay-"

"Come on Cass, you can fight with Rian later. Take a picture with these guys before they are super famous and we have to pay for a meet and greet." My heart dropped at the mention of her fighting with Rian. I wanted nothing more than to hold my friend.

"Fine, then we go straight home." Her voice held annoyance and hurt. We took the picture with Oliver on my left and the two girls to my right, Trip on the other side of them. I hugged her cousin again and hugged Cass rubbing her back, consoling her as much as I could.

"Thank you for staying ladies," my accent strong. "Hope all is well, stay safe!" I shouted after them. We greeted a few more people before we left the stage so they could pack up their equipment.

"That was the most fun I have ever had," I sighed as the four of us sat down on the couches in the dressing room. We chatted about the show, talked about some of the fans we met until John came in with someone behind him.

"Hello guys, I would like to introduce you to my nephew, Andy. He visiting me before he starts school out in Cincinnati. He is going for drama and music."

We all waved politely at each other, standing up I hugged him and introduced all of us. "Hey my name is Devon vocals and rhythm guitar, that is Trip on bass and vocals, Oliver on drums, and Nate on lead guitar."

"Nice to meet you guys, you put on one hell of a performance."

"I have to agreed with you there, especially considering we formed less than ten hours ago."

"Definitely fooled me, you guys were flawless up there as if you have been together for years." He laughed in disbelief.

"So Devon, I know you don't do the whole singing thing very often, but you guys can have the stage whenever you want. What if you and Devon did a duet!?" He shouted as he turned to Andy.

"Wait you sing?" I questioned.

"I sort of, nothing spectacular like you," he trailed as he looked at the ground.

"Well hey I will be back in town next Sunday if you are still around. I have some pieces we could work over, always good to get a second opinion." I offered, thinking that I would be more comfortable trying something new in private as well. "You can get my number from John if you're interested, just call me. Thank you guys so much for tonight, maybe we could do it again." I hugged them all and gathered my things without changing.

I grabbed my phone and headed out to my car, the air held summer's warmth but the wind was cold against my exposed skin. I hopped in my car and started the engine. I checked my phone to see it was close to two in the morning and I had two missed calls from Alex, one from Jack and five from Zack. I called Alex first, my heart racing and worry engulfed me. Luckily he picked up immediately.
