Sacrifice

Jacks POV

I was watching Alex from the house.
He was sat on the tree trunk with his back to us.
We all named it Alex trunk as he always sat on it when he needed to think.
"He's really lost at the moment isn't he?" Oli said as he came into the room.
"Yeah. But I don't know why." I said trying to think.
"Do you think its because off what happened?" Oli asked joining me watching Alex.
"I seriously don't know." I said.
"Does he know?" Oli asked.
I shook my head.
I don't know why Alex is like this. Maybe it he's like this this time off year maybe it because what has happened. Whatever it was it wasn't good.
I looked up to find Alex had turned round and looking at me.
"That's creepy." I muttered to myself.
"Just a bit." Oli chuckled beside me.
Alex got up and made his way indoors.

I felt a pair off arms wrap round me.
"You okay?" I asked knowing it was Alex.
I felt him shake his head on my back.
I turned round so I could see Alex.
"What's the matter?" I asked wrapping my arms round him and resting my head on top off his.
"I don't know." Alex said sounding sad and confused on how he felt.
I was confused.
Something was wrong but he didn't know what was wrong.
I was thinking when I heard Alex chuckle a little.
"Can't wrap your head round it either?" He smiled and looked at me.
"No." I said sadly.
"Try being me then. I meant to know how I feel but I don't." Alex said.
Oli came back into the room.
"Jack do you need to hunt?" He asked and looked at me.
I looked down at Alex.
"If you need to hunt then hunt. I'll be here when you get back." Alex said looking at me.
"Okay." I said and kissed him softly which Alex returned.

Alex's POV

I was sat on the sofa sleeping when I felt the sofa dip beside me.
I woke up and looked it was.
"Easy Alex its only me." Hannah said softly.
I relaxed and got comfy again and went back to sleep.
The next time i woke up i heard a load of voices in the sitting room.
"Shut up will you!" I muttered and rolled over and tried to get back to sleep.
"See he's fine Jack." Oli said.
"How can you be sure?" Jack said with concern in his voice.
" I don't know! Your the one who can get in his head!" Oli snapped back.
"Actually I'm the one who can get in his head not the other way round." I said as I sat up.
Everyone looked at me.
"What." I said really confused about why their staring.
I went into Jacks head hoping to find some answers but didn't.
Well I did but Jack was hiding it from me.
"What the fuck is wrong?" I growled.
"And everyone thought I had an anger problem." Oli said.
"You do now shut up!" Jack snapped.

Jack came up to me and sat next to me.
"When was the last time you spoke to you mum?" Jack asked.
"Um. Last week I think why?" I said hoping its not what I think.
"They found her." Jack said looking down.
"Who's 'they'?" I asked
"Demons." Hannah said moving forward.
"Wait how did they find them?" I said really confused.
That's when the penny dropped.
I got up and paced the room.
"No, no, no." I muttered to myself.
They looked at me confused.
"Alex what's wrong?" Jack asked.
"That night Patrick somehow found us. When he had a spell on him..." I said hoping Jack would remember.
" Yeah." Jack said raising an eyebrow at me.
"The fucker!" I said loudly.
"Alex say what's wrong." Jack said.
"The thing which I saw what only I could see. The thing which was like a ghost but wasn't a ghost." I said in a rush.
"It was a demon." I said looking at them.
"How do you know you've never seen one!" Oli said.
"Now is really not a good time to argue back Oli." Jack said.

"I know because it knew that if it went to Patrick we would let him in. It wasn't until Patrick started to argue back that we worked put it wasn't Patrick. We pulled off the necklace which was a spell. I was woken up by seeing Lily and then fell over Patrick. Then Jack woke up and something happened and then I looked up in the corner and there was something it wasn't a ghost. It looked like one. It knew me and Jack where bonded and went over to Jack but Jack couldn't see it." I rambled and walked round the room.
"I'm confused." Oli said.
Hannah looked confused as well.
"It knew I could see the dead! It was in the room when Lily showed up it was watching us." I muttered to myself.

I snapped my head up.
"Mum alright isn't she?" I asked hoping she is.
They all looked at each other.
" She's not is she?" I said quietly.
Jack got up and walked over to me.
"I'm sorry." Jack said quietly.
"No it can't be true." I said rushing to the phone.
I dialed her number and waited for her to pick the phone.
"Come on answer!" I said desperately.
I got no answer.
"Mum answer the fucking phone!" I said and dialed it again.
They all watched me.
"Is this how humans normally act Jack?" I heard Hannah ask.
"I don't know." Jack said sadly watching me.
"She's not answering." I said sadly.
"Did they get dad?" I asked looking up.
They all knew that me and dad didn't get on.
"Yeah." Hannah said.

I looked down.
I turned round and walked out the room.
I went into the kitchen and lent against the counter.
There was some plates on the side.
I knocked them off so they smashed to the ground.
I knew Jack was in the room.
"Their all gone Jack." I whispered and looked down.
Jack walked over and turned me round and pulled me into a hug.
"Let it out Alex." He whispered.
With that I broke down into ugly sobs.
