Anything But Ordinary

Am I pretty? Do people like me yet? Is there a party? Am I invited? It's such a pity, no one adores me yet, so make me up in a shade that fits me. Tell me love, oh am I pretty?

Being pregnant alongside Cass was the funnest thing. We hung out constantly, so we were going through the stages together. When we both were four months along, we decided to tell our families. Alex thought it was too soon, but I really wanted people to know because I was so excited.

"Are you sure? I just think that if we tell everyone now, it'll jinx it and we'll lose the baby," Alex said. I widened my eyes.

"Why would you say that!? It's not taboo or superstition to me. This baby is a blessing to me, and I don't want to hide it. If people don't accept that even though we're new to this relationship still, we want this. Okay we've been through all this trouble already. I... I just think that the baby deserves more than to be hidden from my family and your family. Is that so hard to ask?" I questioned him. Alex released a breath and shook his head.

"No, it's not. I'm sorry," he said, and he pulled me into a hug. We pulled away and I smiled up at him.

"Thank you," I grinned. Alex pressed a soft kiss against my lips and placed his hands on my belly.

"I don't know about you but I kinda want to discuss names before I leave for tour. Is that something we could do this week?" Alex asked.

"Of course. That sounds wonderful," I told him.

--

Alex and I had been discussing baby names all week, but we were caught short. It had definitely been harder than we thought, and we couldn't agree on anything. But we were heading over to his parents for dinner so we could tell them about the baby. Maybe they'd help us figure out some names.

So, when we arrived, we were greeted with excites smiles, for we had told them we had some very exciting news for them.

Before we even got a foot into the door, Alex and I were already telling them the good news. We were enveloped in hugs with congratulations being thrown about.

At dinner, we were chatting away excitedly when Alex brought up our predicament.

"Hmm," his mother hummed, and she set her fork down.

"We had some trouble naming you, Alex. It took us a good while before we came up with it, because we wanted it to flow really well," she said.

"Well, do you think you could help us? Give us some ideas?" Alex asked, a hopeful glint in his eyes.

"Dear, I think that's something you and Claire need to figure out on your own. You're the parents, not us. You shouldn't take suggestions from people who didn't help make it, as crude as that sounds," she said, and Alex cringed slightly. I laughed to myself and rubbed my foot against his shin under the table.

We could figure out a name for a baby. It couldn't be that hard, right?

Notes

Oh damn I'm sorry this is so short I honestly forgot I had two fics going on here because of my classes.

Hopefully the next update won't be as long of a wait as this one was.

Aw, figuring out baby names. Hmm... I'm pretty tired right now so I can't really give any good suggestions, lol, but I'm sure you'll come up with something. Or if you really do need suggestions, let me know; I'll try and give some when I'm less tired maybe, lol.
But great job with the update! :)
