Anything But Ordinary

Several days later, I was fully moved in with Alex. It seemed he was as excited as I was.

"Oh! I can introduce you to my dogs!" Alex told me excitedly in the way to his house from Jack's. I laughed quietly, squeezing his hand that was interlocked with my own.

"Well, I'd love to meet your dogs," I said, wide grin on my lips. Alex grinned as well, and twelve minutes later we were pulling up into the driveway. We both got out after he killed the engine, and I followed Alex up to the front door. Instead of opening the door, however, Alex turned to me, his hands on doorknob, and he winked at me.

"Get ready to see your new home, baby," he said, making me bite my lip in anticipation. He turned back around, unlocking the gate and pulling it open before doing the same with the door. He pushed it open, and I followed him inside, closing the gate behind me. Alex left the door open, placing a hand on the small of my back. He lead me through the house, showing me where everything was and how some things worked (like tv remotes and all that jazz). But I didn't need a lesson on tv remotes, because they were exactly the same as the ones at Jack's.

"Alex, I know how these work. Show me the dogs!" I said happily. Alex smiled and lead me to the backyard, and he whistled twice. Two small dogs came running, and they ran through Alex's legs and into the house. He closed the backdoor, and he winked down at me before rushing over to pick up the closest dog. He walked back over to me, the dog barking happily whilst wagging his tail.

"This here is Sebastian. I call him Baz for short. And over there is Peyton. He's a sweetheart," Alex told me. I scratched between Sebastian's ears, smiling as he tried to lick my hands.

"They're so fucking cute, Lex," I said. I looked up at him.

"Lex?" He asked.

"I may have picked it up from Jack. He calls you that all the time," I said. Alex chuckled.

"I'm well aware," he said with a shrug. He set Baz down, and the little dog went straight for Peyton.

"So..." Alex said as he placed both of his hands on my hips.

"So what?" I asked softly, draping my arms around his neck, pressing my body against his. He didn't say anything. Instead, he leant down and pressed a kiss to my lips.

"Welcome home," he said between kisses. I smiled, kissing him harder before pulling away.

"Thank you so much, Alex," I said. He smiled.

"Hey, I'm here for you. I'm going to take care of you and the baby when it comes, no matter what it takes," he said, bringing warm tears to my eyes. I didn't know what to say, so I just hugged him, resting my head against his chest. He pulled me closer to him, arms snaking around my waist.

What did I say? Best guy I've ever met.
