All I Ever Wanted

Alex picked me up on Saturday just like he said he would. I was wearing a light pink evening dress for our date with a pair of white pumps to accommodate the dress.

"Girl! You look hot!" Tori exclaimed right as I pulled the front door open. I looked back at her and smirked.

"I'll see you later. Just hold the fort while I'm gone, will you?" I asked her, and she nodded. I looked at Alex and stepped out of the door, closing it gently behind us.

"Is it just me, or does this feel like dèjá vú to you?" Alex asked as he put a finger up to his lip in thought. I smiled.

"You're an idiot. So, what are our plans for this evening, Alexander?" I asked as we locked arms. Alex lead me down the pathway and onto the sidewalk in front of my house.

"Well, I thought that since it's so nice out tonight, we could take a walk around the streets of Baltimore after dinner. How does that sound?" Alex queried, his left eyebrow raised. I smiled.

"Sounds like a date, Gaskarth," I said cheerfully. Alex chuckled and lead me down the street. We walked for a ways until Alex pulled me into a small restaurant.

"Alex... I know how expensive this place is. You are not spending that much on me tonight. Especially since this is our second date," I said. Alex only smirked.

"You underestimate me, Lizzy... I am willing to pay for this. It's a date, babe!" He exclaimed. A light blush painted my cheeks as he got us a table, and so I kept my mouth shut, even when I saw the prices of the food.

"Can I get you guys anything?" The waiter asked with a smile.

"We're good for now, thank you," Alex said with a nod, and the waiter walked away with a curt nod.

"This place is so elegant! It's changed a lot since the last time I was here," I murmured.

"Yeah? When was the last time you were here?" Alex asked as he offered me some wine, which I denied.

"My first date with Noah.. about two years ago.." I said, meeting Alex's gaze. He nodded and looked down at his menu, and I knew I shouldn't have mentioned Noah.

"I'm sorry, Alex.." I said softly. Alex's eyes met mine, and he smiled.

"It's okay."

After dinner, Alex and I walked around for a while before it started to get cold. He offered me his jacket, which I accepted gratefully.

"You ready to go home, Liz?" Alex asked.

"Liz?" I asked with a smile. Alex nodded.

"Yeah. It's cute... and it suits you, sweetheart," he said. I smiled and looked down.

"Yeah, I could head home. I'm getting a little tired... and my feet are killing me," I said, glancing down at my aching feet. Alex grabbed my hand, and he laced his fingers through mine.

"Well, I could carry you or the shoes. You pick," Alex said with a smile. I laughed.

"You don't need to carry anything, because I'd rather run," I said, and I slid my shoes off my feet. I tossed Alex's jacket at him, and I took off down the street. Once he realized what I was doing, he started to chase after me, becoming extremely close within a matter of seconds.

I looked back at him and squealed, running faster as to not get caught. But, I felt arms around my waist, and I was lifted off the ground, and I was spun in a circle before being placed back on my feet. We were both breathing hard as we gazed into each other's eyes. Alex's arns were draped loosely around my waist,, while I had my hands on both of his arms.

"So, about that kiss then?" Alex asked, and I smiled.

"Congrats," I said lowly, and I placed my left hand on the back of his neck while my right found its place on his jaw. I pulled his face down to mine, and I pressed my lips against his, kissing him slowly.

Alex gripped my hips tightly, and he took control of the kiss, pulling me impossibly closer to him while he kissed me harder.

By far, one of the best nights of my life.
