All I Ever Wanted

I lead Alex over the threshold of my house, and Tori was sitting on the couch sobbing. I rushed over to her, and brought her into my arms, shushing her. There was a pregnancy test sitting on the coffee table, and I reached over and picked it up. I looked over at Alex who slowly approached, taking a look at it.

"It's positive..." I trailed off, "Tori! Did you tell Dan?" I watched as she looked at me.

"No.." she said quietly, "but I'm not ready for a baby." She wiped her face and she met Alex's eyes.

"Who's this?" She asked. I smiled.

"This is Alex. Alex, this is Tori," I said softly. He smiled.

"It's nice to meet you Tori... is that short for Victoria?" Alex asked. She sniffed and nodded.

"Yeah, but I don't really like it," she said. Alex glanced at me.

"Well, it's very pretty," he said. She blushed and looked away from him.

"Will you be okay?" I asked. She nodded.

"Yeah. I'm gonna call Dan," she said, and she slipped her phone out of her back pocket. I stood up and approached Alex, who grabbed my waist and held me close.

"So, about that kiss?" He asked with a small smirk.

"Doesn't count of your ex wanted you to prove something," I said, also with a smirk.

"Well, may I kiss you, then?" Alex asked.

"Nope," I said, my lips turning up into a smile.

"I'll get you one day, Lizzy."

"Prove it."
