All I Ever Wanted

"Alex. Alex wake up!" I said, slapping his arm rather violently. I couldn't believe it. There was a video of Alex and I from last night that had been posted on Twitter.

"What?" Alex groaned. He sat up and rubbed his face, and I shoved my laptop into his lap, and I hit play.

"What is this?" He asked over our voices in the video.

"It's us. From last night. There was someone filming us," I said, and I put my face in my hands. Apparently we hadn't been alone. My phone rang, and I answered it.

"Hello?" I asked.

"What the Hell, Elizabeth!?" Noah's angry voice said through the phone. I ran a hand through my hair with a sigh.

"I don't know," I muttered. He huffed.

"Well, you better figure it out. I don't appreciate that video," he said. That made me angry.

"You don't have a say about that video!" I yelled, making Alex jump, "Those were my true and honest feelings about you, so I'm sorry if you don't appreciate it. Get your head out of your ass. It's not a hat." I hung up, tossing my phone on the end of my bed. Alex closed my laptop, and he set it aside.

"I don't mind the video. I actually really like it," Alex said softly.

"But it would have been nice if we'd had some privacy. That was a rather intimate moment that all your fans know about now," I said. Alex nodded.

"You're right... there's really nothing I can do about it though," Alex said. I nodded.

"I know, and it's fine. Noah is the only one who's really bothered by it," I said. Alex nodded, and he got out of my bed, stretching after he did.

"I'm going to head home. I have to run some errands today," Alex said. I nodded, and he pulled me up and into his arms for a nice hug.

"Just remember the word, okay?" He whispered. I pulled away from him, and I nodded with a small smile. He gave me a cheeky smile, and he gathered his shoes. He slipped them on, and he left without another word.

I sat down on my bed with a sigh, and I rubbed my face. Why couldn't things be less difficult?

A knock on my front door tore me away from the stove. I was cooking dinner tonight for Tori, Dan, and myself.

"I got it!" Tori called, and a minute later, Noah entered the kitchen. I looked up at him, and I raised my eyebrows.

"What?" I asked softly. He smiled and grabbed my hand. I looked at him with confusion, but the smile on his face didn't falter. He pulled me forward, and I rested my other hand on his chest.

"I've really missed you, Elizabeth," he said. I didn't know what to say. Was I supposed to be mad at him? Was I supposed to make him leave? I couldn't bring myself to do either of those things. There was a little part of me that still truly loved him, and I wasn't ready to let him go just yet.

"Noah-" I started, but he put his finger to my lips.

"I love you," he said softly. He removed his finger from my lips, replacing it with his lips. The kiss was gentle, and he deepened it once I kissed him back. I wrapped my arms around his neck, smiling into the kiss. This was the Noah I had fallen for. How could I throw all of that away for a guy who isn't even here half the time?

"You're back together?" Tori asked me. A smile was in display for everyone to see.

"Yeah. We are. And I'm so happy," I confessed. I truly was. Noah was making me happier than I'd been in a long time.

"But what about Alex?" Tori asked me as we strolled along the flea market we were at.

"What about Alex? He's in a band, Tori. Being in a relationship with him would mean long distance. And long distance means tons of trust. He's always on the road, Tori. I can't handle that," I said, picking up a couple apples and putting them in the basket Tori was carrying. She scoffed.

"So, you show up one day with this guy. You guys flirt quite a lot, you let him kiss you, and now all of a sudden he's just forgotten? Just like that!?" She asked me, seemingly mad.

"That's just the way things go, Tori. Not everything ends perfectly," I said, growing a little irritated with her.

"You didn't even end anything!" She yelled, catching the attention of a few shoppers. I frowned.

"As I recall, there was that time when I told him I wasn't ready for what he wanted," I said. Tori glared at me.

"So!? I can't even believe you!" She retaliated.

"And you're so perfect!" I shot back, resting both of my hands on my hips.

"What is going on here?" Alex showed up. Of course he had. After a minute of silence, Tori couldn't hold it any longer.

"Her and Noah are back together!" she exploded, instantly covering her mouth after. I glared at her before looking up at Alex whose jaw had fallen slack. But he tightened his jaw, and I knew he was angry.

"Congratulations," he said, and he stormed off, pushing over a table of produce while doing so.

"Alex! Alex wait!" I yelled, "Thanks a lot, Tori." I ran after him, catching up to him and grabbing the back of his jacket.

"WHAT!?" He bellowed, turning on me. I jumped back, but I held my composure.

"Don't be mad-"

"Mad!? I'm not mad, okay Elizabeth? I'm fucking furious! After everything you said to me. After all those times we kissed. And you're willing to throw it away and go back to your ex who cheated on you!? What could possibly make you think that that's okay?" He asked, his breathing heavy.

"I'm sorry I don't love you like you love me. That's just the way things go, so don't you dare blame me," I said coldly. Alex was fucking pissed. But what he did next was unexpected. He pulled me against him, his grip on my hips tight. And he pressed his lips against mine, kissing me furiously. He pulled away, and he gripped my hair.

"How does it feel to cheat on someone you love?" He asked me. He kissed me again, pulling me impossibly closer.

"This is what you're going to miss out on," he growled, releasing his grip on my hair and pushing me away from him. He wiped his mouth with back of his hand, and he walked away, putting his hands in his jacket pocket. I was flushed, and I had people staring at me. I walked back over to Tori.

"We're leaving," I mumbled. She dropped the basket, and she followed me back to my car.

"I'm sorry, Lizzy," she said once we were in the car.

"Shut the fuck up. If you had kept your mouth shut none of that would have happened," I said angrily. Her eyes filled with tears, and she put her seatbelt on silently.

I stormed inside, throwing my keys on the kitchen counter. I stormed past Dan back to my room where I slammed the door before breaking out into angry tears. I quickly packed up some clothes, and I pulled the door open, returning to grab my car keys, and I headed back out. I ignored Dan asking me where I was going, because it wasn't any of his business.

I drove to a hotel that was quite far from my house, and I got myself a room. All I needed was space, and a lot of it. A hotel room for myself was perfect for that. I hauled my things over to the elevator after getting the key for my room, and I hit the tenth floor button. I ride up alone, feeling more calm than I had been. I found my room, and I went inside. The room was big, and that was just what I wanted.

I tossed my bag on the bed, heading for the shower where I could calm down even more. The warm water helped with that.

I woke up and I stretched, feeling relaxed. My phone buzzed, but I turned it off. If I needed some space, ignoring people was going to be a part of getting it.

I got dressed for the day, figuring I'd go explore the part of Baltimore I'd never been to. I headed out, my wallet and phone being the only things I'd grabbed.

I didn't make it very far away from the hotel when I bumped into somebody on the sidewalk.

"Oh. I'm sorry," I said, looking up at the guy. He looked familiar.

"Hey! You're that girl Alex has been talking about!" The guy exclaimed.

"You're Jack, right?" I asked him.

"Yeah. So what are you doing down here? You don't live down here," he pointed out.

"I could ask you the same thing," I said,, folding my arms over my chest.

"Well, unlike you, I actually live down here," he said. I rolled my eyes.

"Look, I don't have time for this. I have-"

"Jack, does it really matter!?" Alex's voice came from my right. Jack turned around, and I scowled. Alex saw me, but he ignored that I was even there.

"No, Alex. It's only the concert I've been dreaming of going to for two months. Not really a big deal," Jack replied sarcastically. I quickly left, walking fast so they wouldn't be able to follow me. I guess I couldn't even leave my own house to get away from people.

I sighed and slid down the side of a building. I couldn't believe how pathetic I was. I stood back up, and I ran bask to the hotel, flying past Alex and Jack on my way. I needed to see Noah. I headed up to my room, and I collected my things before taking the elevator back down. I checked out, and I ran out to my car, getting in it and starting it up.

The drive took a while, but when I made it, I ran up to his front door, avg I let myself in with my key. There was a girl standing in the living room who turned around to look at me when the door closed.

"Hi," she said, "who are you?"

"I'm Lizzy.. Noah's girlfriend?" I said suspiciously, "who are you?" She narrowed her eyes.

"I'm Rachel. Noah's other girlfriend," she said. I couldn't believe it. I walked over, and I sat on the couch.

"Where is Noah?" I asked, my mouth dry.

"He left a while ago. He should be back soon. Anyway, do you want anything to drink? We could talk about anything... Joe much of a dick Noah is?" She suggested, a sly smile on her red painted lips. I smiled, but it was half-hearted.

"Sure. I guess," I muttered. I knew that she knew there was something wrong, so she sat down on the couch next to me.

"What's wrong?" She asked softly.

"This is the second time he's done this to me," I said, "I should have fucking listened!" Frustrated tears made their way down my cheeks, and Rachel wrapped me up in a hug. The front door opened, and I shot up to my feet as Noah entered the house.

"How fucking could you!?" I screamed. I pushed him against a wall, and I hit his chest with my fists as I cried. I pushed myself off of him, and I left, tossing my key on the ground. I definitely wouldn't be needing it anymore. I headed home with tears clouding my vision.

I'm pretty sure Tori hated me, and I knew Alex hated me, so I didn't really know what to expect when I walked inside my house. A fit of anger? Being ignored, much like what Alex was doing?

But when I walked inside, Tori threw her arms around me. I hugged her back as I sobbed, and another pair of arms was wrapped around us, which I assumed was Dan's.

"I'm so sorry," I said, hugging Tori tight. She pulled away from me.

"No I'm sorry. It was my fault. Come on. I made dinner," she said. She tugged me along, but I stopped and shook my head.

"I just need to lie down for a while," I muttered, and she nodded. I headed to my room, turning my phone back on. I sat on my bed, lying down and bringing my blankets up to my face. They still smelled slightly like Alex.

I disregarded all the texts asking me where I was, and I dialled Alex's number, waiting impatiently for him to answer.

"What?" He asked angrily. I sniffed.

"Go ahead. Say it. Say that I'm a fucking idiot," I said through my tears.

"I'm not going to say that," he said thickly.

"Why not? You know it's true! Just say it!" I said.

"I have to go," Alex muttered.

"I love you."
