“I wanna go on a date.” Alex stated, from where he was laying on top of me.
“You do?” I raised my brows.
“Yesss! Take me out on a daaatee!” He whined, dramatically.
I guess he was getting a little sick of the usual lazy days we’d been having all week.
“Okay.. Where do you wanna go?”
“Nuh uh.” He sat up on my lap and crossed his arms. “I want to be asked out on a proper date. You pick where it is and take me.”
Fancy, eh?
“Alright alright, fine. Just let me think of something.” I took the time to think about where to go.
Okay, where would Alex want to go?
The only things I know he likes is Peter Pan, coffee, and space.
Space!
“Space!” I thought out loud, startling him.
“We’re going to space?” He tilted his head in confusion.
“No. Somewhere space related, though.” I smirked, deciding to leave it as a surprise.
“What the-”
“Go get dressed!” I cut him off, chuckling.
“Um.. Okay.. What do I even wear? Is it like fancy or..”
“It’s casual. Just dress casual.”
“Buuutt.. Is it like business casual, or like-“
“Alex, it is whatever casual you want it to be. Okay?” I chuckled, rolling my eyes.
He was going to be the death of me.
“Ugh! You give me nothing to work with!” He groaned, and got up to get ready.
I laughed and followed suit.

After we got ready, I led him out to the car and held his door open for him.
“I still wanna know where we’re going..” He muttered, getting in.
I circled around the car and got in, starting to drive.
“You’ll see, cutie.”
“Could you at least give me a hint?” He continued to whine like a little kid.
“I already told you, it’s about space.” I wasn’t budging.
I knew he was new here, so he would never guess where we were going.
He groaned and started thinking.
“Are we gonna see a space movie or something?”
“I can’t tell you.”
“Oh my god I seriously hate you..” He groaned, resting his head on the window and giving up.
“Whatever..” I chuckled, and kept driving.

We had been driving for about an hour before we neared our destination, so his whining was endless.
“Okay so we’ve definitely passed like every movie theater so..”
“Just wait for it, cutie.” I responded, pulling up to the place soon after.
He looked up at the building and immediately gasped in shock.
“The Smithsonian museum of space?!”
I smirked and nodded.
“Yep..”
“Oh my god, Jack! You are so fucking amazing this is so insane oh my gosh!” He squealed, and reached out to open his door.
I quickly stopped him and ran around to open it for him.
“We’re on a date.” I smiled, and offered him my hand, which he gladly took to get out of the car.
He immediately threw his arms around my neck and blushed.
“Thank you, Jack..” He smiled into my neck.
I hugged him back tight and kissed his shoulder.
“No problem.”
He smiled and gave me a quick peck on the lips, then grabbed my hand and eagerly pulled me up to the museum.
“Come on let’s gooo!”

The sight when we walked in was truly remarkable.
There were different floors of cool, space related stuff all over the place.
I looked at Alex to see him gasping in awe.
We were definitely gonna see every inch of this place before we left.
“So, where to first?” I chuckled.
“This way!” He squealed, tugging me over to some huge solar system.
“Oh my god this is fucking amazing!”
I was sure he could probably get off to this if he wanted to.
He read some fact about Mercury and started giggling.
“I already knew all of that!”
“Did you really?” I raised my brows and crossed my arms.
“Mhmm.”
“What else do you know?”
“Just about everything.” He shrugged.
“What are you? A spaceologist?”
“It’s called an astronomer, Jack.” He rolled his eyes.
“Whatever. You can’t prove you know everything.”
He thought for a moment, then looked back at me.
“Did you know that for every two orbits of the Sun, Mercury rotates three times around its axis?”
“Did you just read that?” I raised a brow at him in disbelief.
“I knew it already.” He glanced around all the planets, then stopped on one and looked back at me.
“Just like how I know that Neptune was first discovered in 1846.” He shrugged, nonchalantly.
“Wow.. You’re a bigger nerd than I thought.” I joked, but was honestly fascinated at how fascinated he was with astronomy.
He seemed to ignore me, and kept on talking.
“It rotates really quickly! Did you know that? It’s because it isn’t made of solid body.” The boy was in a trance.
“No, I didn’t know that at all. Come on, let’s keep moving.”

We looked around almost everything before we decided to stop and eat. I learned a whole lot from him, considering he told me at least three facts about every single thing we saw.
I actually enjoyed listening to him go on and on about space. It wasn’t like a boring lecture in class. I loved to see him be so passionate about it.
I love seeing him be passionate about anything, really. I love how his eyes sparkle with determination to learn more or prove someone wrong. I love how he doesn’t doubt his own knowledge and he doesn’t care if he gets judged for it. I love that his favorite planet is Mars, and that he believes in aliens. I just love how intelligent Alex is.
Or maybe I just love everything.
Maybe I just love him..
No no no. Wrong. I don’t love. I could never love him, or anybody else ever again.

“This was sooo much fun! Thank you so much, Jack! You have no idea how much this means to me!” He smiled widely at me, like an excited kid who just opened his Christmas presents.
“Uh, I can guess.” I chuckled, making him laugh. “I’m glad I brought you here.”
“Well.. I’m glad you brought me here, too.” He smiled at me, with a slight blush filling his cheeks.
He’s adorable.
“This is considered our first real date, right?” I realized, eating a fry.
“Uh.. Yeah.. Yeah it is.” He smiled; his cheeks getting darker.
“I hope it didn’t suck.” I smirked.
“It definitely did not suck, Jack Barakat.” He giggled.
“Oh, phew!” I joked, making him giggle again.
“I had a wonderful time.” He reached over the table to hold my hand, and I smiled and laced our fingers together.
“So did I, cutie.”
Then we continued to smile at each other as we ate the rest of our food.
Fuck, he's amazing.
