“Tell everyone, Rian. I want every resource, every operative, every asset, every fucking single person under my employment to be searching for him. There will be no not finding him.” I hissed into the phone while speeding down the trail, searching for a trace of Alex.
“Yes sir.” He affirmed.
“But also warn them. Because if they hurt a single hair on his head I will turn them inside out and make them fold their way right side out again.” I snarled, not exaggerating.
“They already know that but I’ll make sure to tell them.” He replied.

I could hear his smile through the phone and admittedly, it did relieve the stress a bit.

“Thanks, Rian.” I added sincerely.
“No problem, Jack. Now go find your boy.”

A wave of gratitude towards Rian filled me. I didn’t know what I’d’ve done without him.

I winced as for a second, the voices got louder. Their volume had been growing and growing ever since Alex left. It was only now that I was realizing that being with him made the voices go away.

“Alright I’ve got everyone looking, as well as several other teams combing through the woods.” I said, readjusting the pack on my shoulders.

It was a no-brainer that I should carry the bag seeing as I was a lot bigger and stronger than Eliza was, never mind the fact that I was a demon.

She nodded, not wasting her breath. I could go on for hours due to my strength, but she couldn’t and I knew we had to stop for the night soon.

I slowed the pace to a brisk walk because I could tell she was getting tired and I also handed her a water bottle.

“Thanks.” She sighed before taking long sip, “You know we’d better get him back.” She smiled, handing the bottle back to me, “Because I like this new Jack.”

I laughed and took it from her, putting it back in the bag.

“You know, I think regardless of whether we find him or not, new Jack is here to stay.” I remarked.
“You think?” She asked, raising her eyebrows.
“I hope.”
