Loverboy
Dulaney High
ALEX'S POV
I woke up in our room, feeling safe as Jack had one hand over my body. I could feel his warm breathe kissing my skin as he slept peacefully. All of our stuff had been unpacked and we cooked dinner the night before for Helen (Jack's Aunt) to say thank you for allowing us to stay, we already felt like it was home.
'Morning, dear. I have some pancakes,' whispered Helen as she poked her head through the door. We'd only been there one night and I could already see that she was lonely before we arrived. She gave us so much motherly love and attention, I only hoped I could give her the same level of happiness in return.
'Thanks, you didn't have to,' I whispered back, pulling the covers down from my face a little.
'But you know I would have anyway.' She smiles at me then glances at Jack before retreating back down to the kitchen.
Jack's arm tightens around me and he lets out a groan, burying his head inbetween mine and the pillow. I roll over under his arm and lay face-to-face with him. Our noses touch lightly which in turn makes him open his eyes lazily.
'I heard pancakes,' he grins.
'Mhm,' I kiss his nose and roll back over. Foot by foot, I hesitantly slide out from under the safety of the covers. I go over to the wardrobe and pull out some sweatpants and a grey top before tip-toeing over to Jack's side of the bed. 'Up, it's pancake time.' I demanded.
'You go, I won't be long.' he murmers in reply, hiding his head under the sheets.
JACK'S POV
For the second time that day, I woke up. Moaning as I pulled myself out of bed, I put on some clothes and dragged myself down the stairs at towards the kitchen. The smell of fresh pancakes and coffee hung in the morning air and I enjoyed the pleasing aroma as I made my journey. I opened the door to find Alex and Helen sitting at the little dining table with pancakes, coffee, syrup, fresh orange juice and a small bowl of fruit.
'Oh, look who's decided to join us,' laughs my Aunt gleefully, standing up and pulling out a seat for me.
I rub my eyes before replying; 'Shh, food.'
We all share a little giggle at my last comment before tucking in - well, I tucked in. Alex and Helen poured glass after glass of fresh orange juice and talked away whilst I ate what remained of the mighty feast. The pancakes were still a little warm and the coffee was piping hot, each sip and bite was like a little bit of heaven.
ALEX'S POV
After breakfast, me and Jack hopped in the car and went to our new school 'Dulaney High'. Upon arrival, we received quite a few odd looks as we held hands and made our way across the carpark and to the office to exchange paperwork. Despite the odd whisper, it was nothing in comparison to our old school. By the time lunch had came a long, we had aqquired a few friends.
'Alex, meet Rian and Cassadee. They're in my Physics class!' exclaimed Jack, signalling for the couple to sit across from us.
'Hey, nice to meet you guys.'
'Zack, dude! Over here,' shouted Rian, waving his hands in the direction of a muscley guy with a nose ring. He quickly made his way over and took a seat next to me.
'Hi, are you the new guys?'
'Yeah, I'm Jack and this is my boyfriend Alex.'
'Cool, I think you'll like it here.' he replied, seeming very friendly.
Thankfully, the remainer of the day was pretty uneventful. It was really refreshing to know that our last year in high school wouldn't be torture but instead looked like it was going to be a riot. We all got each others numbers and then headed our seperate ways home.
