Here We Go Again

5

It was 11:25pm and Jack was laying in his hotel room bed with his arms folded behind his head as he reflected on the day he just had. However, what he was doing couldn't really be considered reflecting when he was actually just thinking about Alex. He was thinking about the way his ex looked tired and pale, he was thinking about how the spark that used to be in Alex's eyes wasn't there anymore. He was thinking about the way Alex has tensed when he had told him the reason why he was there. He was thinking about the way Alex became vulnerable when he told him about the things his asshole boyfriend did to him.

Jack had even started to analyse how he acted himself, he remembered the way he felt when Alex told him that James had hit him. He remembered the way he saw red and was ready to destroy James. He remembered how he just wanted to make sure that Alex was okay, He wanted to make sure that he felt loved and that he was content with life. He just wanted him to be happy; that's all he's ever really wanted for Alex. Even after the day he left the older joy sitting on his bed while he walked home with tears in his eyes. In his head, Alex had made the best decision for himself, and Jack would do anything to ensure his happiness. He was wrong on that one.

As the minutes ticked on, Jack tried to think of a way to win the murder trial, and put James behind bars for even thinking about touching Alex in a way the older boy didn't deserve. Minutes eventually turned into hours, but Jack couldn't sleep. He was worried about Alex, even though he knew that he shouldn't be. He was worried about James being released on parole. He was worried about Alex living in a run down house on a run down street; he was worried about the boy spending nights alone in a living room which reeked of alcohol and damp. He just worried for Alex, the boy who would always be on his mind.

Meanwhile, a couple of miles away in London, Alex sat alone on his sofa with his knees pulled up to his chest with his eyes closed.

"Jack." He whispered to himself. "Jacks back." He whispered. "He's back."

He looked down to the sleeves of his hoodie and tried to hide his smile. He's seen Jack with his own eyes, he felt the familiar raise in his heart rate and the heat flooding through his body. He suddenly no longer wanted to hide from Jack and prey that the taller man had no recgonition of him. He now wanted to scream it out to everyone. He wanted to shake Jack and tell him that he was his Alex. He wanted to tell him how sorry he was, and by not going to New York with him, he was making the first of some very poor decisions. He wanted to beg Jack to take him back, he wanted to convince him that they could be together again. He thought only this and nothing else.

So with these thoughts in mind, Alex picked up the card Jack had left; the lawyer had left it just in case Alex thought of anything that might be relevant towards the case. He looked at the number and typed it into his phone before sending the message:

There's something I need to tell you. I think it's important that you know it.
