Alex pushed past the last branch standing in his way; Kid was already making his way to the picnic table. “Don’t forget the ‘X’” Alex said looking down at his hands; he was holding the plastic bag the little fish was in. Kid pulled out his knife and smirked at Alex “When do I ever forget?” he chuckled carving an ‘X’ on the table.

“So where is the small river?” Alex asked walking over to Kid holding the fish up.
“Follow me and stay close.” Alex nodded and Kid smiled poking Alex’s cheek. Alex smiled and looked down. Anytime Kid ever touches him his stomach flips. Alex never could put his finger on it, he just felt better and happier when him and Kid were with eachother. They walked forward into the forest Kid in front of Alex pushing the branches out of Alex’s way. Alex held the fish close to his chest, keeping it away from the tree branches trying to avoid popping the bag as much as possible. Alex looked ahead at Kid, his mind soon became filled with thought of him.
Alex became lost in his thoughts

“I love Kid, I do. I just need to figure out how AND when to tell him. What if he doesn’t feel the same way? Shut up Alex he fucking jacked you off of course he does. What if it was just, I don’t know, him being horny? I’ve never seen Kid like that before he never says or does anything sexual… I need to trust my gut”

They pushed past a couple more tree branches until Kid came to a stop, “Here it is! The magnificent tiny river.” The last part sounded a little sarcastic and it made Alex laugh.
Alex stepped forward getting closer to the bed of the river. He looked down at the water; the river was flowing so Alex couldn’t see his refection. He listened for a bit, hearing the tranquil water flow by him. Kid placed his hand on Alex shoulder Alex looked at him “You ready Lex?” Alex nodded and began to untie the bag their fish was in. He bent down and placed the bag in the water, waiting for the fish to swim out. When the fish swam out Alex stood up. “This was actually fun Kid.” Alex said wiping his wet hand on his pants. Alex turned around and faced Kid, “Yeah, now lets go back to the table.”

Alex was sitting on the table whilst Kid was crouched down in front of a tree with his back to Alex. A soon as they got back Kid grabbed something off the picnic table then ran over to the tree. Alex needed to say something, he needed to say…it; he needed to tell Kid he loved him. Alex played with the hem of his shirt, every possible out come was running through Alex’s head, some made him blush, but most made him want to run and hide. Alex’s hands were starting to sweat as he watched Kid bent down in front of the tree. Alex looked up trying to catch his breath, he was becoming very warm. Alex took a deep breath and prepared himself for what he was about to do. He stepped on the table, hesitant at first

“H-hey Kid?”
“Not now Alex.” Kid said not looking away from the tree.
“But I have to tell you something.” Alex said becoming a little worried. The last thing he wanted to do was upset Kid.
“Hold on Lex I’m almost done.” Done with what? All he has been doing was sitting in front of that tree?
“Kid its- wait done with what?”
“I’ll show you in a sec just hold on.” Kid stood up and put his knife in is pocket.
“Alex close your eyes.”
“Close my e- what? Why?” Alex asked super confused at this point
“Just trust me.”

Alex did as he was told and closed his eyes. He felt Kid grab his arm and pull him forward before pulling him to sit down. “Okay now open.” Alex opened his eyes and saw Kid sitting in front of him smiling. Kid turned his head looking to the side, Alex followed his eyes.
There it was, on the trunk of the tree. A heart, with K+A in the middle of it. Alex covered his mouth in shock. “Its for you Lex.” Alex stared at the tree, he couldn’t express how he was feeling, but he never wanted this moment to end. I don’t want this moment, to ever end… “This is the tree, where we shared our first kiss...” Kid trailed of moving slowly and grabbing
Alex’s hand… “This is for you Lex.. Because...” Kid smiled making a breath; he looked back up
“I love you.”

Alex looked at Kid with a smile. “You- You love me?”
“Yeah Alex, I love you. I love taking you to new places, I love seeing your eyes widen when I show you new things. I love your smile and your laugh. I love you in my bed at night, when I wake up, and I love hearing you sing, and I love it when you tell me to stop bothering you, I love walking around town with you and taking photos of you, I love you.”
Alex pulled Kid forward and kissed him “I love you too Kid.”

Alex was sitting on their living room floor waiting for Kid; he told Alex that he had one more surprise for him. Kid came into the room holding a guitar.
No way…

Alex opened his mouth to say something but Kid quickly shushed him. Kid sat down in front of Alex placing the guitar on his lap. He reached his hand out “just… Just listen.”
Kid started playing, it was all guitar until be began to sing, Alex didn’t now Kid could sing. The words flowed out of his mouth like silk, they sent shiver all throughout Alex’s body. Through all of this what struck him the most, was the words.

I don’t want this moment, to ever end. Where everything nothing, without you.

Those words reminded Alex of the tree and Kid.

I’d wait here forever just to, to see you smile ‘cause its true.I am nothing, without you.
Through it all, I’ve made my mistakes. I’ll stumble and fall but I mean these words.

Kid sang the next part so passionately
I want you to know! With everything I won’t let this go! These words are my heart and soul! I’ll hold onto this moment you know! As I bleed my heart out to show… and I won’t let go.

Kid stopped playing, looking at Alex. He was smiling ear to ear “Kid, I- I love it” Alex said trying to find the words to describe how he was feeling. He couldn’t because it was far past words.
“Really? I know it no award winning but-”
Alex shushed Kid with a kiss “I love it, really.” Kid smiled and kissed Alex, they sat there for awhile just kissing eachother.

Alex pulled away “I never knew you could play, I thought I was the musician in this relationship.” Alex said with a smirk. Kid raised an eyebrow “Oh, we’re in a relationship now? I thought ‘you knew nothing about me.”

Alex froze in panic, he really did think him and Kid where together. “Alex you okay? I was just messing around. Yes, we are in a relationship and we always will be, I never what to loose you, you know that right?” Alex loosened up, sometimes he needs to learn to take a joke. “I know that I love you.” Alex said with a smile. Alex’s phone started ringing scaring both him and Kid. “Who the hell is ringing you? I’m trying to be cute here.” Alex laughed and pulled his phone out of his pocket. “It’s Max… he wants to face time me.” Alex clicked answer and Kid moved his head back so he wasn’t in the view of the camera.

“Hey Max what’s up.” Alex looked at himself in the little box in the corner, he began fixing his hair.
“I just wanted to call you man, I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever!”
“I miss you too, I miss talking to you!”
“Where are you right now?”
“I’m at home”
“Where’s um..” Max stopped for a second “your boyfriend?”
“Kid,” Alex said giving Max his name “He’s right here”

Alex flipped the camera to Kid who was trying to hide from the camera. “Kid get your hands away from your face” Kid looked up at Alex and smiled “Say hi to Max”
Kid looked at the camera and waved “Hello Max.” “Hi Kid.”
Alex flipped the camera back to him. Alex placed the phone on the table in front of him so Max could see him and Kid.

“Why are you guys on the floor? Was I interrupting something?” Max smirked
“No we wher-“ Kid interrupted Alex by placing his hand on his chin, turning Alex towards him. “Actually…” Kid said messing with Max. Alex pushed Kid off “Stop it, no we weren’t”
“Good because I feel like it’s time Kid gets the best friend talk. Kid”
“Yeah?” he said putting his arm around Alex
“You have to make a promise to me, Alex is a good guy and he really needed someone like you, so you have to promise me something”

Kid turned his head and looked at Alex “Anything”. He looked back at the phone
“You have to promise me that you will stay with him, that you wont hurt and that you’ll look after him. I’ve known Lex a long time and I’ve never seen him this happy. I myself have never experienced love, like true true love. But I think its you two. So promise me that you give Alex a good life? Because I can see your guys’ relationship going very far.”
“As do I Max, yes, I promise to give Alex the best life possible”
“Good...”

Alex never stopped looking at Kid, staring at him wide eyed and in love. Kid was smiling at Max but as soon as he turned his head to look at Alex his smile dropped. Their eyes locked and a spark shined in them. Kid saw the glow inside of Alex. This awkward silence drove Alex crazy.
Alex grabbed the back of Kid’s neck and pulled him forward, colliding their lips together.

“Whoa guys! Save it for later, thing just got real heated real fast”

Kid wrapped his arms around Alex’s waist pulling him closer. Alex ran his fingers through the back of Kid’s hair. Kid squeezed Alex’s hips and Alex opened his mouth, their tongues danced together.

”Guys… I’m still here”

Kid turned sideways and grabbed Alex and pulled him onto his lap. Kid and Alex were profile to the phone… Max could see both of them. Alex broke the kiss and pulled off his shirt.

“Okay, I’m out bye”

Kid grabbed a fist full of Alex’s hair; he pulled Alex down pushing their lips together. Alex rolled his hips pushing down on Kid. Kid broke the kiss and moaned; Alex attacked Kid’s neck and rolled his hips again. “Fuck Lex, where did this come from?” Alex detached himself from Kid’s neck. “It’s my way of saying ‘thank you’ now shirt off.” Kid wasted no time on pulling off his shirt. Alex smirked and started kissing Kid’s neck again. He squeezed Kid’s shoulders making him moan. Alex rolled his hips again “Fuck Lex. I just want you” he said clenching his teeth “hen why don’t you?” Alex whispered in his ear “Because we aren’t ready for that” Kid said. Alex stood up and began to unbutton his pants “oh I think we are” Alex pulled down his pants leaving him just in his boxers. Kid looked up, looking at all of Alex’s hickeys.
He sat back down on Kids lap. “Oh come one Kid, don’t you want me?” Alex said pouting.

“Y-Yeah… I umm.” Alex cut him off and started kissing him. “At least let me make you feel good. I never got to pay you back from what you did the other night… Please Kid let me make you feel good.”

Kid closed his eyes and took a deep breath, “Tomorrow” Alex kissed Kid one more time.
Until Alex pulled away and sat up onto their sofa. Kid sat up next to him.
“What’s your favourite part of Johnny Tremain” Alex asked randomly
“Why are you asking me that?”
“Just answer.”
“Umm...The part where Johnny meets his friend that later dies.”
“Why is that your favourite part? Sounds kind of sad...” Alex asked tilting his head.
“Because they were best friends, it makes me happy that he found someone. Just like how I found you” Kid said kissing Alex’s cheek. Alex scooted closer to Kid resting his head on him Kid put his arm around Alex. Alex yawed “Tell my a story Kid”
There was a pause; Alex shut his eyes slowing falling asleep. Kid began to speak again.

“So I met this guy, named Alex…”
