Impossibilites

When we finally got home, Alex and Uncle Richard checked to see if Nathaniel was around. Once they came to say it was clear, we all went inside. Once we were gathered in the living room, Alex called the guys and Tessa. I called Tay to check up on Arielle.

“Tay how is she,” I asked her once she answered my call.

“She’s growing pretty fast,” she replied, “I can’t keep her from you and Alex. I’m bringing the guys with me to help protect her. You need to be around your daughter, Kenzie.”

“I know,” I sighed, “Well we found my mom, my nanny, and my aunt. We’re home now and we’re planning out something huge. We may need help.”

“We’ll there is a couple days,” she replied, “Fill us in when we get into town.”

I hung up as Alex walked into the room. He looked exhausted and worried. I knew all too well that he didn’t want to see me die at my father’s hand. I certainly didn’t want to die. I was going to kill him first. I didn’t want Nathaniel to have the chance to kill me.

“How is she,” he asked, knowing I called to check on our daughter.

“Tay is bringing her back,” I told him, “She’s bring her whole coven to protect her. We need to keep her close so he can’t use her as bait.”

“That’s true,” Alex sat down next to me, “I did some thinking, and I figured out that all the purebloods need to have vampire blood in them along with the rest of us.”

“I’m not sure about that,” I told him.

“I was think we’d feed on each other,” he replied, “That way you won’t feel so uncomfortable. Kenzie, it’s the only way to go about this.”

“Okay,” I replied.

Tay finally came into town and Alex and I got to see Arielle for the first time since we went to New Orleans. She was so big now, and she looked to be about three months old as opposed to being a month and a half old. Her hair was definitely like Alex’s, but she had my eyes. She smiled like him too when she saw us.

“You look different,” Tay noticed, “What happened in New Orleans?”

“I became a pureblood,” I told her, “And I met my mom.”

“You were a pureblood the entire time,” she went wide-eyed, “Someone had to have performed a huge spell to make you human.”

“Oh I did,” Abigail commented as she entered the living room, “You must be Tay. Mackenzie told me all about her witch best friend. I was her nanny.”

“And she’s my witch best friend,” Mother added as she followed after Abigail, “Awe, is that my granddaughter?”

“This is Arielle Willow Gaskarth,” Alex boasted as he handed Arielle to my mother, “Our strong little girl.”

“She’s beautiful,” Mother gushed as Arielle clung to her, “And she already trusts me. She is remarkable.”

“She has an excellent mother,” Alex bragged as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

“You’ll even more amazing, Mackenzie,” she replied, “And you’ll an even better mother than I could ever hope to be, if I was given the chance before.”

“Alright so we plan on getting everyone on vampire blood before we confront Nathaniel,” my mom told everyone once we got together, “It’ll be the only way to be stronger than him and his little foot soldiers.”

“And I’ll be the one to kill him,” I added, “I will make him start to drink my blood, which I will begin lacing myself with vervain to weaken him, and then I’ll rip his heart out.”

“And I will help to keep him weak with magic as he gets the vervain into his system,” Abigail added.

“My coven will protect Arielle here in the house,” Tay added, “Should he try to get to Arielle to get his way.”

“And the rest of us will fight off his little minions,” Alex added.

We all nodded, knowing what to do. Everyone started to pair up for the blood sharing. I bit my wrist and Alex did the same with his. We both choked down the blood as we drank from each other. We took enough to last us a few days so we’d be strong enough to fight Nathaniel once we found him. I was prepared to help Alex through his nightmares and the blood memories he would get from me. I knew he’d relive the day he attacked me at school when he turned his emotions off.
