The Guardians: A Fall From Grace

Cori is no ordinary girl. Cori has to face a difficult reality every single time she reaches eighteen. Cori meets a man- Alex- the same man she meets every single lifetime. She experiences heartbreak and true love at the same time. Alex is her twin flame- her soulmate. Only problem is: Just as she begins to realise just how deep her feelings go for Alex, and just as she realises what he is, she dies. Will this lifetime be different? Or will history repeat itself?

“Do you believe in the light?” his breathing grew desperate, he needed her to answer this question before it was too late. Before she was met her end.
“Yes.” she breathed out, matching his urgency.
“Do you believe in the dark?” he gripped her arms, hoping he could hold her back, hold her down and keep her from leaving.
“Yes.” her breathing hitched. His eyes grew as the smoke above their heads swirled down, hovering over her head. She couldn't see the cloud of black, but he could. Oh, he could see it very well, and it scared him. He was scared that she would be taken like all those times before.
“Do you believe that you’ll find your light— our light in the darkness?” Cori nodded, she did believe that you could always find your light in the middle of the darkness; she believed it more than anything. Alex gulped as the smoke started to cover her head, only leaving her eyes in sight.
“Promise me you’ll find the light. Promise me, Cori.”
"I promise."
